Mostly it's just power fluctuations that make everything go down. Thankfully we have power backup but the router takes 3-4 minutes to get going again and it's annoying. Might get a UPS for the router too

Okay so katiee and aniket ....the peri peri name comes from the chilli and the sauce itself is known as 'piri-piri' in Portuguese. It takes its name from Swahili - 'piri-piri' means 'pepper-pepper' - and has morphed into several iterations, including 'pili-pili' and 'peri-peri'.

When our family travels to India, we always go to McDonald’s a few times for the aloo tiki burger and fries. Soooo good. We’re vegetarian, so we don’t go to McDonald’s often in the US. I wish that McDonald’s would have veg options like this in the US. And piri piri fries are kick ass!
Yeah! McDonald’s even fries their fries in beef fat in America which is weird... I’m not sure if they do that in India, probably not.
@@grace-lb2nw I highly doubt that they would do that, considering that even most non veg people there don’t eat beef. I’ve never even seen it on a restaurant menu there, and I’ve eaten at countless restaurants in India.
Same exact situation as you. I'm an Indian born in America. Whenever we visit, I always beg to go to McDonald's. All of their food is really good.
I feel as an American, we're just obligated to eat different versions of our own fast food abroad like McDonald's. I feel bad that I didn't get any the last time I went to India. I can't eat American fast food for the most part because of dietary restrictions myself, so it's nice getting fast food like this in India.

Next time, Katie should try and make Kulfi with Aniket giving the instructions in Hindi, I feel like that would be fun! Additionally, you could also make some other sweets, like Kheer made with rice and jaggery. I'm loving it (Aniket x Katie), hope to see more!

Here in portugal we have a sauce called piri piri sauce, maybe the portuguese influence in the past has something to do with it
Yup..the pepper was introduced in india by the Portuguese colonizers. It is still in use, but in a very limited quantity (in goa). Most of the authentic indian dishes do not have it.
@@jagrutdabir5664 Yes but it was chili peppers that were introduced by the Portuguese traders coming from South Africa. Black pepper was always native to India. Also, It isn't just Goa, other southern states also use the piri piri chilis. It's just that those cuisines are not very mainstream so not a lot of people except the ones who grew up on it know anything about it.
We have good Portuguese influence here especially in western India (Maharashtra & Goa) even few words are similar in Marathi, Portuguese and Konkani

In india almost 40% people are vegetarian so most of our food have vegetarian substitute and they are loaded with flavours coz of various spices

It's called Peri Peri based on Nando's Peri peri seasoning which itself is based on Lusophone Africa's peri peri sauce. It was initially popularized by the Portuguese and in India I believe it was introduced as a part of 2012 London olympics where they introduced burgers and fries with flavors based on different cuisines of the world. After briefly discontinuing it, it was brought back by popular demand and has been a staple of Indian McD ever since.
Katy is another sweetheart in Tasty who is conscious of everything she says and seems very positive. Loved how she jumped to say, "WE did it!" And other things.
They have a GREAT dynamic!

Piri-Piri (or Peri-Peri in Swahili) is a very vinegar-forward Portuguese hot sauce, sometimes also made into a dry spice blend - kinda like Sriracha (which is of Thai origin) seasoning. I first came across Peri-Peri through Nandos. It's delicious, and Nandos asks you to choose from different spice levels, like Taco Bell does. Nandos here is less fast-foody than both, Taco Bell and Mc Donald's, though.
Katie's burger and fries look fancy 😍 - definitely gourmet, since EVERY ingredient looks fresher - especially the brioche, the homemade patty and onion rings. That's not what Mc Donald's is going for on its non-gourmet menu (we have some gourmet options in Mc Donald's, here in Australia).
I am from India and I love your show the most especially Katie and Aniket. I love those challenges when they are together

In India Corn Flour and Corn Starch are 2 different things...Flour is yellowish.. Starch is twice the thickner and fine white powder...

I think they're the same thing. Corn meal has a course texture like semolina, is that what they call corn flour in India?
@@kooby122 from what I see and understand...in Indian store here in US... brands like Laxmi and Deep have Corn Flour written on it ..it also has Maize Flour written along...used for making Makke ka Roti... Bob's Red Mill brand also used the word Corn Flour..similarly they have corn meal and corn starch in their line of products as well...they do look & feel different...processing of it, producing the finer white powder of the same corn acts as the starch... I guess it all comes down to color (yellow or white) and texture (coarse, medium, fine) 🙃
