Can This American Follow A Dessert Recipe in Hindi?

- Aniket from BuzzFeed India is back to see if Katie can successfully make a gulab jamun recipe that's entirely in Hindi. Katie doesn't know the name of the dish and she only has one lifeline. Will her final plated dish look anything like Aniket's?

Turns out I am not good with fractions...! Thanks for watching!
Gulab Jamun is Crunchy?
Me in a birthday party
Katie: hie u like this birthday CAKE
Me: yes ..who made this?
Katie: me
Me: ohh It's CRUNCHY.
It's sweet.
It's refreshing.
You did such a good job!👍👍
try making pav bhaji u vs jasmin
plzzzzzz
@@sonakshichopra9385 It is not crunchy it is very soft
Katie doing these challenges is actually really entertaining lol
It really is lol
Really want a whole series on it
@@richadubey8791 ok?
@@richadubey8791 that’s the Ireland flag-
@@richadubey8791 that isn’t even the Indian flag..
For next level: lets make it like what rie did to alix....Yes/No answer are not allowed. Just do what Katie wants to do and see the result.... I think its gonna be fun 😅
But these recipes are quite complex and i feel it might go to waste
@@fruitycappchino yapp, I said for next video...so they can pick the best recipe for the challenge
@@fruitycappchino u got a point
And Alvin ^^
maybe some sort of sabji.. like aaloo matar or something.. basic sabjis are easy
This is what Katie gets for making Jasmine’s “Coco’s Dream” harder
Lol
hahah true
Lol she did better with Hindi than I would so kudos to her
Because she had done once before!!!
@@atharv7578 I studied Hindi for 3 years in school lol
@@starlight8554 are u Indian?
@@preetishukla8556 ya but I don’t live in India
@@starlight8554 same but i learned hindi by listening to hindi songs😃
Katie should have eaten the ones that soaked up all the chachini because that's how gulab jamuns are usually..They are meant to be so soft that they melt in your mouth not crunchy
Ikr! I heard crunchy and I was like... Mm they are not supposed to be crunchy😂
The crunchy texture was actually meant for the pistachios, cashews and almonds not the gulab jamun itself
@@jennieaugustus5728 Possible. I have never eaten Jamun with dry fruits
@@sindujaramanathan1540 Same
Yea-
Its much more fun if you know both languages!
Exactly how I feel when this is the Japanese challenge
yeah definitely i keep being like ‘no no not that it’s the- oh there you go!’
I wish I could experience that :')
i know right
Yeah 🤣
Katie is literally my favorite tasty producer. She is so entertaining.
I think she's learning Hindi
It's so fun watching when you know both the languages😂😂
ikr😃😃
ikr
bruhhh fr
Yeah like me
I kind of think the point of the challenge should be just letting her do her interpretation rather than repeating each point 10 times until she gets it right
Agreed
But I feel this way emphasizes learning. She’s learned a lot of words/phrases and that’s cool to me.
Also: you kind of want her result to be edible, right?
@@nicholegoble6716 it may not end up exactly the way they want, but if they don’t let her make a mistake she won’t learn anyway
I think it would be more fun if there was more of a risk of her failing
This is a great way to learn a new language. I've never learnt Hindi, but now I know chini means sugar and haan mean yes.
Sugar-- chini/shakkar
Yes--haan /haan ji(with respect)
Katie is genuinely a nice person with full of energy. I don't know who my favourite is from Tasty now.
As for her Hindi language skill, she is doing really well... All from Ankit's facial expression and gestures. Hahaha.
Me indian who knows nothing about hindi
Her: strugling with hindi
Me: i feel your pain😔✋
From South?
same here
@@sindujaramanathan1540 south indians doesnt speak hindi alot..! We have telugu,tamil,kanada,Malayalam...
Same, I used to know a little Hindi when I was 5 but then i forgot cause I spoke English everyday at school
@@thogaruakshaya7726 I'm South indian but I also know Hindi😎
Aniket:- “Aur kya chal raha hai zindagi me?”
Katie:- “ohhhh no idea!”
Every homo sapien who watched this video:- 🙃
Ps:- aniket’s question translates to:- “What have you been upto in your life”
I love how you guys honour recipes from all over the world in your channel. Gulab Jamun is one of my favourite Indian sweets ever and Katie did a great job! Just let it soak a bit longer in the syrup so that it becomes really soft and melts in the mouth. It tastes divine.
My favorite dessert ever! And Katie's looks gorgeous. She picked up Hindi so well too.
The fact that no Indian probably speaks in such pure hindi nowadays 🤠
Brah major relate
Yeah mostly Hinglish 😂😂
Depends on where you are from. He used a couple words that I don't use in my daily life, but other than that his Hindi was pretty normal.
Pure or Sanskritised Hindi is what people of DD national Hindi speak when they present their news reports.
Ya
N also not every indian speaks hindi
She understands this recipe in Hindi more than I do. Honestly I had never heard these terms before. Good job Katie !!
Definitely want more of these type..

Muah!! Give us more Tasty!!
P.S Suggest Aniket to talk in Marathi or Gujarati Accent rather than just boring Hindi.
Ur so mean Hindi is amazing
yeah hindi is not boring even if you don't speak it
The gulab jamuns need to swim in chashni as Aniket said. They're meant to be soft and not crunchy
i truly truly love this so much :) my dad is from gujurat, but i do not speak hindi/gujurati and watching her get these recipes feels sooooo familiar! great job katie!
You gotta make dosa(any variation) and sambar!! Pride of South India!!
Yessss...they should it would be so much fun
Katie's doggo just chilling in the corner is like me hanging out when my mom's cooking
Totally loving this series with Katie and Aniket! Vada pav next time please
Loved the video...you should do more of this❣️
Hats off to her for being such a spot and her recipe was on point. Following instructions in a completely different language is so difficult. You did so well. Be proud and congratulate yourself 👏👏👏Even Ankit explained it well. Can't wait for the next thing you guys will try. Good luck 👍
I cant stop my laugh when i see katie struggling lol
Oh my gosh
The goulab jamoun is like one of my favourite indian desserts
(I'm mauritian so i knew that recipe)
Nice video!
Boy they went from numbers to fractions real quick
Yay!!! Part 2
Haven't seen this episode yet...but we want part 3
This is my favourite dessert...happy to see Katie prepare Gulab Jamun
Lol , tomorrow only I was thinking about another episode of Katie with Aniket and the video is out . Enjoyed it very much .
People see Hindi in title:
Indians: We have been summoned
Actually I’m not Indian but I speak Urdu and I still understand mostly all of it.

I haven't ate gulab jamun (I call it red rasgulla) in SO long because of the covid lockdown shenanigans. Thanks to this video I can follow the recipe and make it myself now!
You should let it soak more to experience its actual flavour.. I love gulab jamun. It's my favorite. Thank you for doing this recipe. It was fun watching. 👍
Your cooking videos always make us feel like we can conquer any recipe. Keep up the great work!
Love watching Katie doing these videos :)

In Trinidad we have many cultures and indian food are greatly influenced here..for diwali we make these
it is so much fun watching this when you know both languages
Not bad at all for a first timer. Literally the best. Awesome Katie. 👍👍
Gulab Jamoons are popular in south India also! Along with rasagullas, jilaebi, jangri, badurshah and kaju burfi (kohinoor peda)
I could not love these two more. They are both so funny! 😍
-taani- katie partner, ek baat kahun? aap ke muh se yeh hindi achchi lagti hai 🥰

Loved this ❤️
This should be a series.
I live in another country near to india and this sweet is really populer in our country and I absolutely love it its fun to see a American to make it.
I love how they pronounce Aniket as Etiquette
That looks amazing 😍
Even in Southern India it is so popular.
My mom makes gulab jamun for every occasion man😍
why don't male beings make, cooking is women's job? same as my country🤮
Katie and Aniket should do like a cook off. I mean, let them have the recipe and just exchange dishes! Would love to see Aniket in the kitchen too
You can make I dli or dosa with chutney!
Please make a new one, I'm a huge fan of these! Definitely try Rabdi or Dhokla next time, both my favourite foods
Kudos to her hard work and Hindi today 😀❤
He's basically telling her everything
i know right? like language didn’t even matter if u keep guessing
they should eliminate yes / no
right. But it'd be extremely hard if he didn't.
I had gulab jamun on the westward train from Kolkata and they are delicious, but I could never have more than one ☺️
I was so waiting for a good tasty video
I'm making this!!!!
Side note: we have the gulab jamun instant mix in our Walmart, but I have all the ingredients at home
There are a lot of words that even some Indians don't know
Katie was feeling it, and so was I
I was waiting for this for soo long
I am shocked that she made this so beautifully without knowing hindi that much🤩🤩
This is great!
Do a video to teach Katie how to make 3 course indian meal that should be :
Breakfast - Poha
Lunch - Paneer ki sabji
Dinner - Butter chicken with butter naan
Dessert - Rasgula
👌👌👌👍👍👍
Make it a whole ass series
