It was in 1983-1988 that Brian Bloom started to play the part of Dusty Donovan on ATWT . That Dark hair and beautiful baby blues !! Wow I was crazy about him as A Teenager . He was in all those teen magazines with pinups . I had all kinds of pictures I remember in my locker at school and on my bedroom wall . That s what I best remember about ATWT . Want to see these again here online . So long ago ❤❤
Today is 8/18/2020 and I just needed some nostalgia. I was a stay at home mom during the 80's and remember those years well. I loved it. I remember doing laundry, cleaning house, making dinner and taking care of our new baby while this played in the background. Wouldn't give those days up for anything.
Now this is the writing, I grew up on. It was an excellent display of storytelling . Performance,,storytelling , direction & production combine to create a masterpiece . This was so commonplace at the time. These people cared about what they created and showed the world . That’s virtually non existent in 2024. That theme song will always get me. This episode was featured with an interview Danny Pintaru gave . He was awesome as Paul. Thank you for sharing!
As I also thought Hilary could've replaced Lisa Sloan as Nicole Travis Cavanaugh on The Edge of Night, that same year 1983. Although it would've been a 5 years difference of the two
I can remember hating Betsy von Furstenberg as Lisa but, watching this, she was actually a pretty good recast for Eileen. She captured something of Eileen's essence as Lisa, beyond just that they had similar facial features. She was quite good in the scene here with Bob.
the scene towards the end with colleen zenk and danny pintauro as paul just breaks your heart. little did paul know that he'd grow up and realize he'd want james as far away from him as possible.
Thanks for the upload This must be when James was about to leave the show for 3 years..?? Xd Nice to see Jeremy Hunter from Loving / All my children .!!
In my head, this eppy ended with James' whole arm ripping off while still in Blondie's hands, and since Blondie didn't want anyone to think he murdered James, he stupidly decided to play Hide the Arm From Everyone.
Stenbeck's fall was reminiscent of Norman Lloyd's demise from the Statue of Liberty in Hitchcock's Saboteur: "the sleeve, the sleeve!" he cries out, right before plummeting.
That scene with Barbara and Paul tore my heart out. 😩😭💔 BUT…bye James. See you in a few years when you miraculously return. Bob and Lisa were better together as friends and co-parents than spouses. Miranda got her just desserts for hurting Bob.
Wow! The 80s era. I started watching sometime when they brought Lily and The Schneider’s into the show. Wasn’t this when they had that replacement actress fill in for a Eileen in the role of Lisa? I didn’t know Bob’s wife was this exotic cheating harlot. I remember Capital!
chuck bracken Eileen had a contract dispute. The role of Lisa was recast with this actress, Betsy von Furstenberg, from around late ‘83 until early ‘84, when Eileen came back. I thought this recast was horrible!!!
@@KRstar78 According to IMDb Brian Bloom was on ATWT from 1983-1988. so this was his first year on the show. The net says he is 50 now so he would have been about 13 then.
@@edgefan4437 I thought so, Whenever I was at my grandmas house she would watch as the world turns and I remember Brian when he was a teenager and those blue eyes were just always memorable lol 😂 they were so blue.
I started watching ATWT about this time. My cousin had a baby and we went to visit her and I watched it while we visiting because Dee Stewart was on it and she used to be on AW as Eileen and she died. I wanted to see what her character was doing. I like this Franny because of her youth and gentleness. Julianane moore was a little rough to me and I never liked her on the show. Some characters I didn't like the entire time that they were on like Carly. I hated her from the first day to the last. Thank GOD for the fast forward button. Shannon, Harriett, Lisa, "Martha Byrne's" Lily were my favorites. I never understood why women gave up everything or anything for John Dixon. Always LOVED Holden :)

He certainly was adorable.

For years I'd complain how James didn't have a parachute when he fell out of the plane.
James was a mad man. The actors was so young back then. Time went by so quickly. I was 13. This is when day time shows were really good.

I was 6 years old. Would get home was school with my mom obsessed with Mr Big and James Steinbeck. Best soap ever! Time went by so fast!
In these early Margo recast scenes, Hillary Baily-Smith looks remarkably like previous Margo (Margaret Colin.)
Great casting. Thx for the upload.

i heard of this James story slipping out the plane was fuzzy to me when i was a teen Anthony Herrera will 4-ever be remembered
Paul went from 7 to 16 in 2 years
lmaoo yep classic SORAS!
Pre-Marland era was unusual and unstructured.
too many characters
James Stenbeck, the best bad guy ever.
Right up there with Roger Thorpe
She was Frannie before Julianne Moore

I felt the same way at the time. I thought she's not Lisa but she was actually perfect as a recast
the scene towards the end with colleen zenk and danny pintauro as paul just breaks your heart. little did paul know that he'd grow up and realize he'd want james as far away from him as possible.
James was a good villain he had the look and was always entertaining

so glad they never recast James because he played him well
It's strange seeing Hillary B. Smith playing Margo before she was on One Life to Life for so many years as Nora.
And for me it was strange seeing her as Nora when she had been Margo. It took me a minute to accept Ellen Dolan as Margo.

The writing credit is strange. A name appears above “written by”
I liked all of the Franny's but Julianne was my favorite. She and Marcie were great as friends 🧡
That scene with Barbara and Paul tore my heart out. 😩😭💔
BUT…bye James. See you in a few years when you miraculously return.
Bob and Lisa were better together as friends and co-parents than spouses.
Miranda got her just desserts for hurting Bob.
"Hello Barbara."
Hard to believe that James Steinbeck would leave ATWT for loving .?? Xd
@@MrCraigblazewho knows if Anthony left on his own? But hey? The show led the way to say characters never die on soaps, as James was one of the first
Yes. Wasn't Danny Pintauro an amazing little actor?

Yes. This is Betsy von Furstenberg here as Lisa. Eileen had left the show during much of 1983 and into '84.
Oh wow...NuLisa...

Yeah, in June of '83

CBS was stupid canceling ATWT and guiding light I hate the Talk
Christian LeBlanc (Michael- Y&R) at 15:37?
Yeah. I can't believe it myself. He hasn't aged at bit.
@@JasonAlredge what? with all his gray hair now? did he stop dying it? but he looks good for his age. 60 is the new 40.

Damn.. i saw the clip of james falling. No ellen Fulton? She was lisa
She had quit the show - this lady was her replacement till she came back
Analog Transmissions oh ok ,i was wondering why i didn't see her name.

is ee your point she was bad
@@mysky Who could replace Eileen Fulton? no one that's who. They should have had her leave town or something. Sent her to prison or something.
Michael Baldwin
Dusty was a child. Whatever happened to Karen Hines
She married John but they later divorced.
And the fake "Lisa"
Nora Buchanan
Had Dusty found out by this point that Gunnar was his father?
OzFrog I didn’t know Brian Bloom was on this show for this long he looks like he’s 11 or 12 here
