It's absolutely baffling how great this show was at this point...contrasting to what it became by 2010. All of these characters on at once. Multiple families in one not just 2 character scenes, in an extremely limited number of sets. It's a shame that such a long running multi-generational show was lost. Unfortunately...TIIC must have misplaced Doug Marlands rules for running the show. The last year of the show was a disaster. It should still be on.
This period of ATWT was absolutely beautiful- the sets, the writing, the acting and the way the characters interacted with each other. The lengthy scenes became obsolete in later years. This writing let the scenes breathe and created angst/anticipation, slow burn storylines with big payoffs. That all got lost over the years. I agree that this show should still be on the air. If the writing and acting had maintained this level, I would still be watching.
OMG!!!!! To wake up on a rainy Saturday morning and find this ATWT GOLDMINE is a gift beyond what my words can express!!!!!!! This Christmas episode from 1985 brings wonderful surprise after surprise after surprise of ATWT treasured gifts--showcasing practically every amazing character of this era. I am absolutely breathless at seeing all of these fantastic residents of Oakdale once again. What a nice Christmas package to receive--the beauty of the sets, the beautify of the actors, their festive holiday spirits, and the bit of added drama and intrigue worked into this holiday episode. Truly a Doug Marland classic!!! This episode captures the essence of this heartfelt soap. It makes me miss what a good soap opera actually is. Its cancellation remains unforgivable. To the person who found and posted this episode, you have my sincerest and everlasting GRATITUDE!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope all ATWT fans have a chance to watch this. ❤️❤️❤️
Now this is how you film a holiday episode. All of the families. Getting together . On as the world turns unlike. Should've been canceled years ago. Days of our lives. Which is celebrating the holidays by having all of the towns people. Being possessed. By the devil. They couldn't even do a montage showing clips of the shows early days 1965 up until the present because they chose the crappy writers chose to have the devil and marlana terrorize. The whole town this how they honored there now 56 years on television. . This is what we lost the better another world for

Great history! Caleb and Ellie mentioned by Iva years before they were actually introduced on screen.
John kissing Nancy under the mistletoe! Priceless!
Great quality video! Thanks for sharing .
It's always funny how NOBODY put two and two together about Lily and Holden
How the show was able to pair a 20 year old man and a 17 year old girl STILL baffles me !!!
