    Hello, this is Algae.
    Everyone, do you like ginseng?
I eat it mainly to take care of my health, but lately I have been attracted to the unique bitter taste of ginseng.
In the past, 6-year-old ginseng and red ginseng (processed products) were very popular, but recently, ginseng sprouts and 4-5 years old ginseng seem to be getting attention.
Somehow, I became interested in growing ginseng and found the process not difficult for beginners.
Of course, it is very difficult to stratify the seeds and grow the roots safely for 6 years like a specialized farm.
However, trying to grow a small amount of ginseng does not seem like a very difficult challenge.
So today, I prepared a video about growing ginseng and growing ginseng sprouts.
I hope this video will give you pleasure.
    Have a nice day :)
    Thank you.

      Hello This is Algae.
Thank you for sharing your experience :)
Ginseng is a plant that is seriously damaged by strong light.
Therefore, Korean farmers grow ginseng by protecting it from direct exposure to the sun.
It will be easier to understand if you think of it as mimicking the environment under the shade of a tree in the forest.
Also, be careful in summer to avoid exposure to excessive high temperatures.
I wish you good results in your next ginseng cultivation challenge.
      Have a good day :)

Thanks for making this informative video. This is very interesting to try out. I wonder if the ginseng plant in pot needs to be placed outdoor during the winter in order to survive? If I leave it indoor all year round, does it just grow all year round?

      Hello This is Algae.
Thank you for the interesting questions :)
Unfortunately, I don't know the exact answer to whether ginseng should be exposed to cold every year.
However, I know that many ginseng farmers in Korea grow ginseng in greenhouses during the winter.
I grow some ginseng plants outdoors and grow some ginseng plants indoors all year round.
I think cold stratification is essential for seed germination in the life cycle of ginseng.
And I know that cold is necessary for flower buds to differentiate.
If you want to germinate ginseng seeds or harvest new seeds, make use of the winter cold for ginseng cultivation.
      Have a good day :)

What type of soil did you use ?

      Hello this is Algae.
Thank you for leaving a nice question :)
I used culture soil products that are easily available in flower shops and gardening stores in Korea.
In Korea, coco peat is used as the main material, and culture soil mixed with zeolite perlite is commonly produced.
In addition, a small amount of peat moss and fertilizer are sometimes added, and the ratio of raw materials varies slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer.
I hope your curiosity has been solved.
      Have a good day :)

      Hello this is Algae.
Thank you for leaving an interesting question :)
Unfortunately, I don't know how to purchase ginseng seeds outside of South Korea.
What is clear is that Panax quinquefolius, which is similar to Panax ginseng, is sometimes sold under the same name, so it is important to purchase it from a trustworthy company or seller.
I am very sorry that I have no way to specifically help you.
I hope you can achieve your goal.
      Have a good day :)
