    In the case of progressing in your life, the thing you worry about letting go are the ppl around you, who are holding you back.... You could be in the middle of inventing a time machine and someone you know will ask, "What are you doing?" "I'm building the first ever time machine and I'm almost finished" "You'll never be able to build a time machine!" That's an exaggerated example but it's like that with anything. You could be painting a picture, designing a dress, making a new cheese, anything and guaranteed someone who's supposedly your friend, partner in life or someone who's close to you, will bring the negative. That's why a lot of ppl go away to quiet places, where they don't have the negative noises around them... It's why scientists and inventors are always so solitary. You can't be creative surrounded by the noise of others negativity.

    I wouldn't use the analogy of leaping off a cliff into shark infested waters to describe leaving an abusive relationship, but leaping off a tall burning building into the net held by competent firemen. The first scenario speaks of defeat, while the second speaks of victory, bc in and of itself it is a personal victory to overcome / leave an abusive situation.

    He said it so clearly- if you don’t judge you are not thinking.
    Think about it -you can judge a book by its cover. If you took me to Barnes and Noble I could identify the theme and content of probably 98% of the books in the bookstore; based on the front cover alone. Throw in the back cover and I would venture to say I could up to 99%. Give me the inside jacket flaps and I can get it to 100.
    You have to be discerning. You need to keep an open mind, but not so open that your brains fall out.

    As a family that survived the FLDS Cult, I can say the transformation was painful. The things Jordan is saying here ring true. To change from worm to butterfly one has to go through an intentional and conscious mental rebirth. For me, I had to dig down to the bedrock of everything I believed to be true and check the virtue of every idea. It takes time and is painful, but I did not have to leave the whole structure, I just had to rebuild parts that were on a sandy foundation. My wife had to do similar. The children adjusted well, and our life is much happier now. We have liberty to think and say what we find to be true. We have liberty to LOVE! The FLDS Cult was a hate cult like the current Democrat party. All they know how to do is divide, hurt, tear down, and consume. They do not have to power to build up, inspire, or improve life.

      Read from this my perspective as a non-american, situated in Europe: Your entire nation is in political turmoil. You need to stop looking at American news, and start looking at news about America from around the world. The view of America is vastly different than the information projected to you from within your nation. You still have tons of deprogramming to do. Stop watching Fox. Stop watching Breitbart. Stop watching CNN. Seek out sources that are more invested in democratic progress rather than individual people or parties. Make sure that they are not politically affiliated with anything going on in the US.

Think you are perfect? What have you got to gain in committing defamatory acts? Let me ask you a question. If you read a book and found useful information that changed your life/relationship/business, in a good way, but then later you found out the author did things you would consider reprehensible, would you then, conclude that the information you got was useless... I'd love to hear someone like Jon Young from Vermont University respond to the idea that the Kalahari Bushmen have no mechanism in their egalitarian society for resolving conflict. I'm not sure but I imagine that if you found culturally intact groups, they would have that knowledge. The ones who have experienced partial cultural reverence as a result of colonisation may have lost that knowledge and turn to bantu tribes to resolve disputes. I'm not so quick to assume that they have survived for what, 200,000 years and had no mechanism for dispute resolution. Seems a lot more likely that they did and have recently lost that knowledge.

    People get tempted to return to an abusive spouse if kids are involved out of desire to protect the kids but otherwise I don't see why. Actually I would leave a guy easily for much less than criminal physical abuse. I leave cheats and might be their friend but not girlfriend. Maybe people lack self confidence or don't want to be alone or just get used to it. For me I was raised with self respect not to put up with abuse some people sure like to dish it out and not taste it themselves either. Another reason could be how they were raised if they were used to that in childhood they might seek out the familiar or try to repeat a pattern for a different outcome. Why people are abusive is a bigger question I think because they certainly hold people back.

    It’s hard for a women to leave out of an abusive relationship if she has children. Children end up spending part of the week with their abusive husbands and they endure having no mother protection. The courts arrange such. So it’s often a choice of self sacrifice to protect their children. Yes, it’s not the solution but it does have such benefits

    • @bravefastrabbit770
      @bravefastrabbit770 3 роки тому

      Now this is a clear choice from the womans side. Either she fully knew whom she actually picked for a partner(I.e the scoundrel), or she had no idea(blissful ignorance). In either scenario she failed to pick a suitable mate and now has to deal with the consequences. Not to mention, most women are often over-motherly, and end up creating a soft bitch for a child. The fathers role is completely different, I do however understand and get where you are coming from, & the type of man you're trying to describe.
      But that goes both ways, especially in our current zeitgeist where the government bends over backwards to make women happy( in order to collect their vote), where the masculine role is demolished. We live in a matriarchy where the courts take the womans lead all the fucking time with the MINOR exception for perhaps 1/20(where shes actually psychotic).
      Goes both ways, if a dude has children with a borderline psycho bitch who ends up fucking all his friends, divorces him & takes all his money along with the children. He is himself to blame for not having foreseen it, n in our current spirit of time, THIS HAPPENS ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

      Yeah fuck. Realized im writing to a little girl, smdh. Good on you for watching JPB at such a young age, but there is more to it than it seems. Given youre a woman you'll quite naturally take the stance of which narrative fits you the best, of course. But NEVER forget, both roles are essential and play their crucial part in the construction of a child. Without the other, the child will have defects, n is basically being set up for failure.

If America took to a new way of making sure they’re were better ways to help the struggling working mother, just enough to get them out of the danger of said marriage from the abuser!

Judging things/actions among people in a society (= discern) .... Egalitarian society has no hierachy, which can be a problem when problesm arise....

      Depends on your goals. What's something you want out of life? What will you have to let go of in order to acquire it? Define the first, determine the second, and there's your "progress".

    • @easymedia91
      @easymedia91 4 роки тому +9

      I'd say, according to JP it's continually making order out of voluntarily invited (or not) chaos to become more and more capable human being. As a consequence rising in the social hierarchy and having the sense of meaning. It doesn't sound generic or trivial to me at all like you point out in other comments.

There isn’t some community or system that helps with temporary recourses or just help out of the situation in general?
