I still argue BDSP issue wasn’t the art style, it was that it stuck too close to the original versions of the games and disregarded changes made in platinum.
The problem was obviously that it wasn't what was expected of a Pokemon game remake. It was terribly lackluster bevause of it and the art style didn't do it any favors. People were expecting a SwSh style Pokemon DP remake, not a terrible conversion of DS game onto modern hardware (An "HD2D" approach would have fared better if they wanted to go this route, I'd argue).

I was a big Pokemon fan when i was younger but never actually got a chance to play official games, My love for the series kinda died out over the years but i was still cool with it. At some point my sister let me play Violet on her switch and I loved it to death, especially with the ending and its music. It caused me to go and emulate emerald, soulsilver, platinum, and black 1 and 2 so I can experience what my childhood couldve been like if my parents actually bought me Pokemon games instead of just putting it on the TV and buying merch. usually I’ll obsess over some kind of media for a month and it’ll disappear, but Pokemon has lasted for almost a year now. You can still criticize the games even if you enjoy them. I WANT The Pokemon Company to do better, because they have more resources than fossil fuel giants to make it so. Critiques are valid. Game Freak isn't ruining Pokemon. CAPITALISM is.
I want all the complainers to understand this. Whenever we get leaks we get to see almost complete work that literally had to be dropped due to time constraints or some other bs of that nature.
I think part of the reason Pokémon’s battle system is so excellent is because of how simple single-battles are (at least at the game level, I know competitive singles gets pretty complex), and how much depth double-battles have. VGC is fascinating and exciting to watch.
I used to hate VGC because I played smogon in gen 4-5 online a lot... But giving it a try in gen 8 made me realize it is super cool. How every pokemon interacts with the others, def worth playing and watching.
I just find Pokemon's simple battles so tedious. I love the TCG, but I haven't been able to finish any of the games since Diamond. I wish they were faster and had some more depth. If they borrowed SMT's turn system and regular battles used four Pokemon, it would be amazing, though.
Pokémon is just such a casual game to experience that just about everyone can find something of value. And for me as someone who in their earliest memories of gaming consisting of mostly Nintendo 64 games where I never completed the games and basically just explored the surroundings and playing Pokemon on the Gameboy SP, Pokémon today still makes up most of the very few games I've played to completion. The franchise basically formed my preference for games. Which is likely the same scenario as anyone who grew up playing Pokémon.

I love the grinding, the shiny hunting, and most importantly to me, the collecting! There's not another series that lets you collect creatures across decades of games and bring them all together in one place
That is a grest point. I feel like Pokemon is really THE series to connect your past gameplay to the present (via collecting pokemon into like Pokemon Home) I need to get more into shiny hunting too, that always seemed so chillaxing

I just finished legend Arceus and eagerly waiting for Z-A. I still play gen 3 to 5 from time to time. Pokemon is my first love of gaming and probably won't quit.
Another big reason for people not stopping playing these games, it basic psychological attamchment. It's not only about "nostalgia", it's about a safe space, stability (in an ever changing world) and about a rare franchise which keeps growing (with us), but also has a large variety to be enjoyed (Games, TCG, Anime). Not to mention, that the franchise just sparks with creativity and is one of the most inclusive franchieses, which is why the LGBTQIA+ community and so many neurodivergent people are drawn to it. I could state even more psychological factors, but the gist of it is that we're attached to Pokémon for FAR bigger reasons than meets the eye. Going even deeper into themes like "compensation", "self-development through fiction", "moral development", "Dopamine regulation" and even "co-dependency" or "addiction". It really is a fun and giant topic to be talked about, which - logically - does the things to our human brain it does 😄
A thing to keep in mind too that the game is VERY mainstream. The hardcore base will absolutely care about the details but the kids down the street won’t. And they outnumber the hardcore greatly.
false, they never sued my top faves, nexomon, coromon, bulu mons etc....They sued Palworld cause obviously they ripped off everything that makes Pokemon great, and bluntly copy all Pokemon designs FACT

Pokemon is the epitome of childhood. Reminiscing back to the days of running around your neighborhood with your friends with a Pokeball and a DS in hand, exploring the wooded areas near you like you were going through Veridian Forest, and talking as if you were a trainer yourself. I think that’s the pure magic of Pokemon… allowing you to interact with the world in wonder and awe - seeing the world in all its beauty and grace. While I was extremely disappointed in Scarlet and Violet (I think they’re unequivocally the worst games in the series) I still find myself going back to this franchise and playing the old games to relive that magic and wonder. That’s the key of Pokemon.
I went back to these games because of the recent release of Pokémon TCG pocket which I'm hopelessly addicted to. Managed to beat Violet and Brilliant Diamond some time back so I bought Let's go pikachu this time and to my surprise it's the prettiest pokemon game on Switch. Also it's just so nostalgic to be surrounded by kanto pokémon, I'm having a blast here. Cheers!
THIS IS THE REALEST VIDEO EVER MADE. For years I've been in this back and forth between my love for the pocket monsters until one day I deducted that despite the horrendous stumbles and disappointing factors such as those disappointing graphics and in SV, I will always love it. Pokemon is a series where if you play 1 game to completion, even if you no longer play the games anymore, you will always love the media and the franchise. It's not only one of the biggest franchises in the world, making it inescapable, but it also holds such powerful childhood memories with such likeable and loveable creatures. Despite my attempts to constantly push the series aside, that nostalgic feeling that was embedded into me after playing BW has taught me that whether I like it or not, I am a Pokemon trainer until the day I die, for it is apart of me unlike anything else.
While making this video I felt the same way, I've tried to push the series off in the past but it is just a good time, even if it COULD be a great time its good enough for me.
I've quit since Ruby Sapphire GBA. Constantly having to mash A 108 times a battle just to get through text stopped appealing to me fast, and based on what I saw in streams, that hasn't changed one bit.
Good video. Even though I barely touch the official titles anymore, I still have tons of fun playing and making videos on fan made ones (hell, I even made my own)
I love to just fully immerse myself into the games like I’m actually the one catching and bonding with my pokemon while exploring these beautiful regions
@@JoeKVideoGameEssays For sure. Grinded for a whole month through W2, Y, ORAS, US back to back. Glad it's over and my Pokemon are safe in Home before Bank shuts down. I have Sword and Violet and won't even think about playing those until summer of next year. Getting Za when it comes out so def hooked for life smh
I don't think it's that we will keep buying them, but that pokemon is universal. Like how people still play Tetris, old and new. I didn't enjoy scarlet and violet exploration, but story, music and team building was awesome.
It did a lot of good along with a chunk of bad I wish they hired more people, its suprising how small the teamd are for such a huge profitable franchise lol
That's something else they have. There are many more pillars of player experience than just exploration, like the other aspects you like. I'd go as far as to say exploration has actually always been secondary to either collecting, team building, and battling
Pokemon is a home to me. I love it with all my heart and it's a part of my daily routine and personality. Whether it's games, anime, cards, spinoffs or whatever else, I'd gladly enjoy it. It was the case 9 years ago, it is the case today. All the criticism is absolutely valid, in fact, I'm not ashamed to admit many of the flaws those games have, though it got much more difficult to engage with community when there will always be THAT person or group of people to hate on you because you're allegedly not supposed to enjoy those games by their opinion. And hey, SwordShield and ScarletViolet is still cozy and fan games, the Legends format was really a great surprise to me and I really think the game us great and Legends Z-A is super promising! So, maybe the games are not as good as we'd want them to be but it's just good enough to keep us excited I guess! And, no, I'm not playing ONLY Pokemon games, I enjoy many other great Nintendo, PlayStation and crossplatform games that are better than Pokemon by a mile, so it's not having "low standards" or "not being exposed to good games", it's a lot more than that.
I feel a lot of those same things. Its nowhere near a perfect series but it is a very comfy one. Also im so hyped for Legends ZA. Love myself some Mega Pokemon
Thank you a lot :D I think this channel will likely always stay small since i'm not making videos all about one game / spamming "GAMING IS DYING" content consistantly. But even so, UA-cam has been super fun so expect the ride to continue for a long time!
I love Pokemon no matter what. Anime, cards, games, figures, doesn't matter. When it released as a kid in the 90's, I fell in love with it and has never stopped being a part of my life, could imagine a life without it.
Here is the thing: pokemon is a cultural phenomenon that will never be replaced. In Japan, It is part of their culture that it never be challenged like Digimon or Yokai-watch, just like how Dragon Quest never be replaced by THE Japanese JRPG.
I'm really enjoying VGC today, which I was never able to do before this generation. Hyper training being available from level 50 and move relearning without cost was what I needed to be able to enjoy that and Scarlet and Violet offer that.
I did quit it. Since 2022 I've managed to quit it. I played almost every games, I collected a lot of cards, watched the entire animated medias and read everything. But I felt so betrayed by Pokémon those past 6 years, I was just a natural "death". Sometimes I play romehacks, showdown, pokerogue but it's not the same has before. I still know the entire lore/pokedex but I cannot tell that I'm a Pokémon fan anymore. Even tho I'm dropping this licence, Pokémon will have a special place in my heart and I will always be thankful that it was in my life.
I wish each Pokemon had their own art styles and effects from the trading card games as well as combining the Pokemon TCG virtually with the video games and switch playing from one Pokemon game to another as one big giant game. Imagine every single Pokemon trading card game ever made and every single Pokemon video game ever made combined into one game that anyone and everyone can play (single or multiplayer). There is infinite future potential in the series.
Idk I wouldn't say most people that go watch the new Star Wars films are addicted, they are just connected to it. (Ok, well, some star wars fans get addicted but not the general public haha)
The one video where I feel safe enough to comment this: I spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours into the original Diamond, and I love the remake almost just as much. Pokémon's always gonna be special to me.
I’ve loved Pokémon since I was a kid, starting with Pokémon Blue and my first starter, Densuke (Bulbasaur). Now, over 20 years later, I enjoy playing with my niece-exploring on Miraidon and Koraidon and started playing Pokémon TCG, even if it’s a bit expensive! I’m looking forward to playing Pokémon adventures with my own child someday. 😄
Having been around since the very beginning of Pokémon’s inception, I’ve been hooked since the very start. What does it for me is the curiosity of new Pokémon, running through that new region with only new Pokémon and getting to know them. And eventually: the competitive scene for Pokémon. I enjoy the multiplayer and love to see what the new Pokémon have to offer for the competitive scene. That’s just my itch and I know it isn’t for everyone. Besides the competitive scene, I also enjoy ribbon collecting and shiny hunting. So there’s a lot for me to dig into to keep me satisfied until the new generation comes around. And it lasts longer for me because of that multiplayer aspect. For the people who complain about “there’s nothing to do”, are certainly not PvP players. Which is a huge downer, because they are missing out on a lot!
I'm not going to lie. I have never done any ribbon collecting in any game. That is not a popular genre on UA-cam so I know nothing about it. Care to help a clueless guy out?
The one thing that keeps me from walking away for good is Region Variants. 1st it was Alolan Marowak, then Mr Rime, Ursaluna, and this past generation Clodsire. Annihilape was a nice addition too.
"Looked a little bit better in execution" is like the most underhanded throw to S/V I've ever heard, and this is the problem with us Pokemon fans. We let them abuse us. The new games are barely functional pre-alpha builds. I've never seen a company railroad a fanbase so hard, and the best we've got is "could have looked a little better." This is why it will never BE better.
Same here. When I discovered SMT with Devil Survivor in 2009, I couldn't go back. To be fair to Pokemon though, SMT pretty much ruined all other RPGs for me.
This will age like milk. I quit after sword and shield. these bad games sold well because people believed the quality would still be there, but people will no longer believe in pokemon.
As a die hard fan of Pokemon when I watched its anime on my childhood, played and finished Blue and Gold while I didn't finish Emerald. So yeah, I outgrew it fast than any other series lol.
I'm in a weird position with Pokemon. I quit after Generation 6 because it pissed me off to no end that they got rid of the battle frontier in ORAS... (Ash losing the Kalos League didn't help their case on that front either.) I didn't touch Gen 7, I didn't touch Gen 8, and I have only just played Gen 9 because someone bought it for me. What kinda brought me back was Legends Arceus. I really enjoyed that game due to how different it was, how interactable the Pokemon were, the Action RPG elements it's great. Now after tolerating Gen 9, I think I'm only going to stick around for the Legends Games. I might "borrow" gen 10, or play a romhack every so often, but I just can't really support the mainline games financially unless something drastically changes going forward.
As someone who started in Gen 3 with my GBA SP (still have it), it's still fun to play and glbest for casuals. Current generations on thr Switch is even more challenging and fun, especially with the advent of Shiny Hunting. Shiny Hunting in the newer games is fun and enjoying. It's even more exciting when you found a shiny you want in Poke Radar or Dynamax Adventures (I caught my Shiny 3rd legendaries already and despite the struggles, I'm happy that I got them). Shiny Hunting in Pokemon is somewhat the best to spend time and chill, whether you have the Shiny Charm or not.
As far as the drama over quality goes, I think it helps that none of those bugs are gamebreaking (usually), and they were a lot more rare than the internet would have you believe. I've got about 500 hours in Pokemon Scarlet and I never encountered a single memorable glitch. I'm almost disappointed about that, given how much they were talked up. And I started my game within a few days of launch, too. I'm not going to deny that there are serious issues with modern Pokemon games (Arceus knows I'd love to see Gamefreak step up their game), but often they're overblown by permanently online people with nothing better to do. Scarlet and Legends were two of the most fun Pokemon games I've ever played, despite all the flaws.
Despite me liking Pokèmon, I parted ways with Pokèmon because of the fallout especially when the Mega Evolutions came to existence. I moved on into Digimon and other monster franchises. I still keep in touch with Pokèmon despite the fallout.
No matter what, through the ups and downs that the Pokémon franchise has had, I will ALWAYS stay being a loyal fan to the Pokémon franchise FOR LIFE! The same goes for my brother David. Me and him got into Pokémon at a young age, back when the Game Boy/Game Boy Color was still reining supreme, and we'll never give up on it no matter what. And yes.... I do like being the guy that always chooses the female player character option in each new game. X3
You know you don't have to "replace" a game ya love, right? You know there is nothing wrong with playing other games in a genre you enjoy, right? I play Pokemon less and Yo-Kai Watch more not to "replace" it but cuz Yo-kai just gives me more fun and good game design to study and learn from. Maybe I am just not as much of a slave to my nostalgia as others? I have been with Pokemon since Red and Blue and have played every main series game and even several spinoffs I adore like Mystery Dungeon and Colosseum. I will still tell ya with no hesitation that Yo-Kai Watch 3 is better than any existing Pokemon game.
This video was put together so well! There's a number of things I like and dislike about the series. One thing I have to give them credit for is their designs. It's not for everyone, but I'd argue each monster had an idea in mind and likely went through several revisions to get it to where it is now. Some other monster series feel like they went with the first draft in the design department.
Thank you for the kind words! And yea for the designs I agree. But like, when I compare pokemon games to other games there is ALWAYS at least 10-30 designs per gen that I like a good amount. And 3-5 that I love. I think the newer gens have a lot more stinkers but also... a lot of the more basic ideas have beend one before and they want pokemon to be unique so its kinda a hard design place to be in im sure. I thought about this yesterday but if pokemon were REALLY running out of ideas they could make like, A Zebra for EVERY mono type, and then EVERY mixed type and instantly create so many mons. They would be the laziest thing ever but it would work I guess. So anyways... Im glad they arent that lazy I guess haha
I always like playing the new games and occasionally going back and playing the old games honestly. I played Gen 3, Gen 5, and Gen 7 (sun and moon) ALOT
There’s a bigger player base now and I love the games still. Been playing since I was born practically during Gen 2. I still love the franchise I fell in love with in the first place.
One of the greatest strengths is the shortness and replay-ability. Having a game with as many creatures in it as they do lends to each play through being different. You mentioned how you can dump hundreds of hours into it getting into competitive or shiny hunting, or just enjoy the main part of the game casually and it's not a huge investment. I'd add that the short aspect of the games, gives another option where you can dump hundreds of hours playing it over and over, and it can still be somewhat fresh. There is a reason pokemon challenge runs are such a thing. Pokemon just has a perfect loop of basic engaging mechanics at it's core, with (like you said) some really awesome ideas each gen with world building and gimmicks, that even if they aren't fleshed out that well, it's honestly not the biggest deal, because they're not putting all their eggs in that basket. Would it be nice, sure! But there is still enough good stuff there for a tasty little meal.
A big part of for me are the fan games. I still like the official games mind you (Albiet I have my gripes like most), but the world of pokemon fangames is a weirdly high quality, surprisingly varied yet still familiar, and almost infinite quagmire that is genuinely impossible to escape from.
Started collecting pokemon for my son as hes 5 and getting into the game. Wanted to have a complete collection to help him along the way. Welll i ended up getting hella sucked in, almost complete living dex in home and ive been learning about VGC 😅
They lost me in the Switch era. The 3DS games were already hit or miss, I did enjoy a fair share of what they had to offer, but... At the same time the magic that I loved about the series was fading away. The Dexit announcement was the final nail in the coffin, and by the time SV got announced the worst had happened: I didn't care anymore. Not love, hate, or even fear; only pure, unadulterated indifference. And that's probably the worst emotion you could instill on someone that used to call herself a fan. To me, what made Pokémon a magical experience, especially in the GBA-DS era (with BW2 being when this reached its apex) was the ability to use the creatures as a device to bring me into an expansive world, a world where there's so many details to dig into, so many little stories to be told and battles to be had. Grinding had a purpose, for example to be able to beat those stupidly hard champions in the PWT tournaments, whereas in the newer games no such facilities to actually use the Pokémon you've put so much care into exist. Stories took a chance to take themselves seriously, starting with Platinum and the gen 5 games, and, while I'm glad games like SM or SV have tried to follow on that, it's hard to forgive the trash writing on XY, USUM or SwSh. In any case, everything was this grand adventure that had polish, detail, a ton of secrets for you to discover, and reasons for me to sink hundreds upon hundreds of hours upon a single save file. The lovable creatures were just a means to an end, in this sense. And all this rambling brings me to the point you put about the games now being just a few dozen hours and done. Yep, that's my problem. Shiny hunting isn't meaningful at all, and without this amazing battle facilities why should I care about raising my favorite Pokémon in a scenario where I can see them shine? They removed my main reasons to want to play at all, and being that one of those reasons used to be, as a long term goal, that I wanted to raise by myself every Pokémon possible because I enjoyed that sort of grind, so it's easy to see how the Dexit announcement destroyed all my passion for that project. The irony? Nowadays I've found a game that to my weird self is pretty much what I always wanted Pokémon to be, and that is... Genshin Impact? Yeah, I'm not kidding. I have my fair share of adventures, an expansive world with lots of secrets that keeps growing and growing, and building my characters scratches that grinding itch that I used to have with the National Pokédex. Sure, gacha and everything, but for me the characters are just a means to an end, just like the Pokémon were in ye old days. So yeah, in a weird twist of fate, Genshin is my new Pokémon, somehow. If you, dear reader, somehow got to the end of this wall of text with your sanity intact, I salute you. I guess I got a bit too passionate about my story with this particular franchise about cute elemental animals.

Haven’t even started the video yet and I already know why I won’t quit. Not only has Pokémon been my childhood but it gives me feelings that no other games has besides cyberpunk 2077. It allows me to have these cool ahh pets to, battle, play, dance, feed, ride them, that I couldn’t otherwise irl . Not only that the characters, the stories, the settings are just so beautiful, even tho I only play the mainline the most I still find my own role playing ways to have fun even within the “bad” games like sv or swsh. This is gonna sound cringy as fucc but Pokémon isn’t just the biggest gaming franchise ever it’s a lifestyle that even as an adult I’m not willing to give up no matter who Nintendo sues or does to the games. Also multiple player is an amazing thing they added me and my friend tried it out once and it worked perfectly sadly he’s lost motivation to play the game so I have no one to play Pokémon with at all but that’s fine.
Honestly for me, Pokémon’s always been my comfort series for the main story and characters of the main series, the anime (Diamond and Pearl, Sun and Moon and Horizons being my favourites) and the Pokémon themselves, sure some of the games aren’t the best (looking at you BDSP and forcing the casual player to build a competitive team just to finish the main story) and I’m stay away from competitive because I don’t think I’ll enjoy it but I’m never leaving the series I love so much behind (Also I enjoyed Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet dispute all the bad visuals and glitches)

I just find Pokemon's simple battles so tedious. I love the TCG, but I haven't been able to finish any of the games since Diamond.
I wish they were faster and had some more depth. If they borrowed SMT's turn system and regular battles used four Pokemon, it would be amazing, though.
@ I have long thought mainline games need a “hard” mode where everything is double battles
@@foxhound6364 It’s a small nitpick but I wish multi-hit moves didn’t take an eternity to finish.
I’ll never quit Pokemon ever. Me without Pokemon doesn’t feel normal to me.
if i ever stop whipping out the ds n playing that shi, somebody better shoot me dead
W take
I'm not the most able gamer, so Pokémon not requiring you to be dexterious is a plus for me. 😅
@@HimekoIzayoi Same. The last time I played a FPS game with a couple friends during a night out, it being COD, I had to ask them how to use the knife lol. That's how much little gaming experiences I have.

Hey I really appreciate that :)
I only have a few hours a week to work on UA-cam so while my editing will probably never reach the fast pace of a lot of channels, I hope the topics and discussions within can keep it interesting. Thank you again for the support and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Totally agree with that
The only reason I have a Nintendo Switch is to keep up with the Pokémon games. I'm 29, and I don't see myself growing out of it. It just be fun.
I love the grinding, the shiny hunting, and most importantly to me, the collecting!
There's not another series that lets you collect creatures across decades of games and bring them all together in one place
That is a grest point. I feel like Pokemon is really THE series to connect your past gameplay to the present (via collecting pokemon into like Pokemon Home)
I need to get more into shiny hunting too, that always seemed so chillaxing
DQMonster does that. Shin megami tensei does.
If you meant to trade your pokemon from one game to the next then no.
@@raulrojas9253 yeah I still have the gift lapras from fire red I got the day I moved across my country. I brought it to many games, and now it rests in pokemon home so I will never forget my journey

It really is a fun and giant topic to be talked about, which - logically - does the things to our human brain it does 😄
i didn’t read any of this, but if i did i would have definitely agreed
A thing to keep in mind too that the game is VERY mainstream. The hardcore base will absolutely care about the details but the kids down the street won’t. And they outnumber the hardcore greatly.
Great point. I feel the same way about Smash a lot of the times. I want certain changes, but lets be honest, 95% of players just play it casually.
because when someone tries, the sue them lmao
Shh the Ninjas are among us ඞ
false, they never sued my top faves, nexomon, coromon, bulu mons etc....They sued Palworld cause obviously they ripped off everything that makes Pokemon great, and bluntly copy all Pokemon designs FACT
Cassette beasts, and other indie games I can’t remember have something to say against that… also creature collecting IS a game genre. It’s just that Nintendo has a strong domination over it
@@QuantumChristFalse. Palworld has no mechanical similarities other than catching monsters. Palworld may have used the Pokémon art style for its creature designs, but it was not bad enough for Nintendo to be able sue the devs. Nintendo sued the dev about a patented game mechanics that was filled after Palworld was released. FACT
@@QuantumChrist bruh don't boot lick nintendo, Palworld outclassed nintendo and made a better game than scarlet and violet and now they're retaliating. None of the pokemon designs were copied, just because they use a similar artstyle.
As someone whos played the 3ds games, The switch era of pokemon have been some of the most fun ive had ever had with gaming, even if i see things like graphics/glitches
3ds>switch is a good pokemon pipeline
I quit Pokémon in high school and came back after college. I don't know if I'll ever quit again. I love the collection aspect of it. My HOME Dex is complete for now. I can't skip future games.
They got u hooked, just like me frfr
yeah i'll never quit pokemon
When I fell out of love a little, I found Pokerouge and Radical Red, fell right back in to it.
It's been over for me after the recent leaks and Ive played almost every Pokemon game and have been invested in lot of them. I can't look at it the same way I did before
The one consistency that will always bring me back to the Pokémon games are the Pokémon themselves!
The reason no other game will ever come close to pokemon is because nintendo will sue the shit out of anyone who tries lol
I quit Pokemon for Persona, and gotta say, its pretty hard to look back.
Cheers!
I can’t never not love Pokemon it’s my childhood staple and it’s always so calm and relaxing I will continue to play it probably forever I think
I Love Pokémon.
I've been playing and replaying pokemon games since I was in my 20s. I'm almost 50 I'm never going to stop playing pokemon I love alll the games!
I've quit since Ruby Sapphire GBA. Constantly having to mash A 108 times a battle just to get through text stopped appealing to me fast, and based on what I saw in streams, that hasn't changed one bit.
Good video. Even though I barely touch the official titles anymore, I still have tons of fun playing and making videos on fan made ones (hell, I even made my own)
Haha, jokes on you I haven't played a mainline Pokemon game since 2021. My jrpgs now are Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei.
Dragon Quest 11 was excelent I wont lie
I love to just fully immerse myself into the games like I’m actually the one catching and bonding with my pokemon while exploring these beautiful regions
But i dont wanna quit them, because i enjoy all games, no matter what problem they have
I quit modern Pokémon, but I’ll never quit playing the older games.
Not a bad strat
I’ve been playing since 1996, watched the whole anime, I have lots of cards and more than 50 plushies… I’ll never stop loving pokemon
When you grow up with something and spend so much time with it, it’s hard to let go of. I’m 27 and still love this series with a passion.

Look, I love Pokemon and always will. I know have the money to buy anything I want thats Pokemon, so I'll keep enjoying it forever
I don't think it's that we will keep buying them, but that pokemon is universal. Like how people still play Tetris, old and new. I didn't enjoy scarlet and violet exploration, but story, music and team building was awesome.
It did a lot of good along with a chunk of bad
I wish they hired more people, its suprising how small the teamd are for such a huge profitable franchise lol
Love myself some Mega Pokemon
damn, didnt realize you were a small creator till i saw the comments! keep it up man this rules!
Thank you a lot :D
I think this channel will likely always stay small since i'm not making videos all about one game / spamming "GAMING IS DYING" content consistantly.
But even so, UA-cam has been super fun so expect the ride to continue for a long time!
Pokémon is my comfort series, I always know what Im going to get no matter the generation the core of series is the same

Yea that is 100% true. Its kinda like us trying to replace disney lol
games like cassette beats succeed imo when they carve their own niche rather than trying to be the same
Big true. That game was an amazing change of pace while still feeling at home. Highly reccomend that game
Me: *wearing cowboy hat* "I can't quit you"
I'm really enjoying VGC today, which I was never able to do before this generation.
The battling has gotten better and competitive training has gotten easier and easier since gen 6
That would be so cool
From my understanding, its an addiction, once you get into it there’s no getting out of it no matter how hard you try lol
Exploring a new region and seeing the new pokémon is always fun ngl, say what you want about the franchise now, but at least we’re seeing new things
Bare minimum for anything ever
@@garfat9160 more than most of these AAA IP's these days, lets be real

I haven’t played much Pokemon beyond Gen 5. I just grew out of it mostly working a full time career.
SMT totally has replaced Pokémon games for me. They just need to do better if they want my money.
SMT and Persona is pretty great I wont lie. A lot more visual-novel-y than Pokemon (at least the old Pokemon games) but fun either way.
Same here. When I discovered SMT with Devil Survivor in 2009, I couldn't go back. To be fair to Pokemon though, SMT pretty much ruined all other RPGs for me.
SMT?

Video Title: "You'll never quit Pokémon"
Me, having not played a Pokémon game since Gen 7:
Not played a Pokemon game again... yet :eyes:
I wonder if gen 10 will yoink legends arceus mechanics or just go completely another direction. Time will tell
It's funny because I have quit pokemon. That said, it will always have a place in my heart.
I was born into Pokémon, and I will gladly grow old with it and later on meet Arceus himself
Same fam same
You know you don't have to "replace" a game ya love, right?
You know there is nothing wrong with playing other games in a genre you enjoy, right?
I play Pokemon less and Yo-Kai Watch more not to "replace" it but cuz Yo-kai just gives me more fun and good game design to study and learn from. Maybe I am just not as much of a slave to my nostalgia as others?
I have been with Pokemon since Red and Blue and have played every main series game and even several spinoffs I adore like Mystery Dungeon and Colosseum. I will still tell ya with no hesitation that Yo-Kai Watch 3 is better than any existing Pokemon game.
I have a friend that loves Yo-Kai. I wish they could have lived in harmony but it seems that series has somewhat dissapeared past the 3ds :(
This video was put together so well!
I have never felt so called out as the 1st 2 minutes of dialogue
I quit Pokemon after Gen 7 and have gotten more and more into SMT and Persona and it's a massive upgrade imo
I mean palworld replaced pokemon perfectly fine
I feel like Pal World is more similar to rust or any other survival turn factory game than pokemon for half the game lol. But the designs are great.
Wolfey fan located haha
Tl;Dr DO NOT GET INTO GENSHIN IMPACT. I DID AND HUNDREDS OF HOURS OF MY LIFE ARE GONE RUNNNNNNNN

Ive never given horizons a watch. what is good about it?
