    Looks like you have been sitting back and studying other builds like me before taking the plunge. I really like your stand because if you move house you can just unbolt it and break it down into 2 pieces. Very economical build with using just a few fire bricks. Inspiring..!!! Now I need to learn to weld :)

    Smart move making the base first making use of the same plywood, smarter move moulding the chicken wire beforehand, saving the torture of trying to mould it on to the wet mix, not to mention the recessed fire brick on the base etc.

    A pizza oven is totally on my list, though I imagine mine is not going to be nearly as nice of a build. 😂 Was afraid the exercise ball was going to be sacrificial. Glad to see that you had as game plan to recover it. And that pizza looked so good. I managed to make a stove top pizza with biscuit dough the other day by flipping the dough partway through cooking and then topping it, but I'll be glad when I have a properly yeasted dough and wood fired goodness. Or just any oven at this point. I never realized how much I would miss the ability to bake.

    • @couldyoucook3085
      @couldyoucook3085  4 роки тому +1

      Stove top pizza can be good, I don't mind them with like a pita bread or a wrap. The trick is not to load them up too much. The exercise ball was a nightmare to source as it was in the middle of covid lock down and everything was sold out 🙄 the missus recons she will use it now so we will see haha. Just follow the pizza oven playlist and your pizza oven will be just as nice 😉

    really nice job. thanks for the idea. and do you think this type of oven can work for small scale business? like if I do 2 of them where each can take two pizza doughs at a time. I am wondering if this formula still can cook a delicious pizza and some other bakeries? thank you,

    • @couldyoucook3085
      @couldyoucook3085  3 роки тому

      For a business it is definitely worth investing more in the materials to make something that holds the heat for longer, this style of oven is good for a family bbq with half a dozen pizzas, but looses the heat quickly, a serious pizza oven will stay hot all day without having to constantly add fuel

    • @rmlabdullayev
      @rmlabdullayev 3 роки тому +1

      @@couldyoucook3085 thank you mate for valuable advice. I am considering to use a natural gas, rather than wood fire, because I am going to build it into the café. I want to keep it light and portable, in case I change the spot. but do you think this structure can work good for natural gas heating? again thank you

    • @couldyoucook3085
      @couldyoucook3085  3 роки тому +2

      @@rmlabdullayev The main reason for building a pizza oven is the taste, which is from the wood fire, the design is to accommodate a wood fire and get it hot enough to cook a pizza in 90 seconds. If you are considering natural gas then a decent gas oven will work fine (probably much better) than trying to make one, and be cheaper than building a commercial grade pizza oven.

      Thanks 😊 I usually start a fire about an hour before hand to get some coals. I used general purpose cement which Im pretty sure is the same as Portland and it's still standing. This is a very cheap way to build a pizza oven. My cost in materials was around $300 (a proper oven would be more like $1300) There is lots of things you can do to produce a better oven but the price goes up. I haven't heard of adding alum, maybe it would be a better way to do it?

      Yes they are firebricks. It's for cost. This build cost about $300. While using more firebricks would make a better oven, when I built this in peak covid it was $8 per brick. Also in my case it was for weight due to the kind of stand I've made. Bricks in the middle means it's a hot cooking surface.

      @@couldyoucook3085 thanks for the reply. I've seen several builds here and it seems to be fairly common to only do the center. Cool build thanks for sharing 👍

    Is that stand custom made? Or can it be purchased?

      It's custom made to fit the oven and be balanced with that particular oven sitting in it. I just built that stand to suit my space, you could put the oven on whatever you like as long as it is strong and stable

    Very cool project, and shouldn't be that hard (except for the metal stand). How is it holding up and what temps do you reach?

      Thanks 😊 It's going well, some cracking but nothing that's concerning me. My thermometer maxes out at 550'c and it goes hotter than that so I have no idea ha
