EPIC step-by-step DIY Pizza Oven Build

- Guys, this DIY wood-fired pizza oven makes some DELICIOUS pizza - and it's right in our backyard! We built the dome using an exercise ball and a bunch of perlite, poured concrete for the tabletop, laid fire bricks, set posts, and even built a firewood storage area underneath the oven out of cedar.
As you'll see, we had to learn how to do a ton of stuff to complete this project, but even though this project was WAY more complex and time consuming than we originally anticipated, we're incredibly happy with the results. There's nothing quite so satisfying as finishing a HUGE project, and. . . well. . . getting to eat a ton of pizza, too. :)

Nice result.
A couple of pointers
1. Wood always to one side or the other. Never opposite the opening (ie. the rear). The flame must rise up and cross the dome to cook the pizza.
2. Only cook pizza when the wood is ablaze, never when there's only glowing embers.
3. Oven temperature should be around 450°c and the pizza cooked in 60 to 90 secs turning it 180° half way through.

I like the vibe of the phrase "Bros not Pros." It encourages people to DIY and have fun with the bros, because it is what matters more than the end itself.
It resonates with me because I always wanted to DIY since I was very young, but was discouraged from doing so because I'm not a "Pro."

WONDERFUL! Certainly, that's much too much for Hubby & me these days, but watching is all so enjoyable. I have no clue how I found all of this, but now both Hubby and I are watching your channel. We're definitely very cool - having grown up in the 60's - and we have a few compliments to send your way. Corny, I know, but heartfelt nevertheless. This is the retired lady who watched with such glee your patio-fire pit videos. I'm also the Mom of 4 sons and Yiayia to 4 grandsons, and I must say, you BROS are extremely talented, great fun, and especially well-mannered. Someone should be quite proud. First time viewer of your videos. I just built what is consider an authentic wood burning pizza oven. Three grand in material and a year to build.

Great work guys. Just one thing - since the fire bricks were such a snug fit, heat expansion might cause the rim of the concrete tabletop to break off at some point.
That would suck, but yeah, you're right. Fingers crossed the concrete is stronger than the fire bricks.

So strange that some people are against of wearing jeans during work. Jeans originally are for work. Miners and diggers used this as they are very tough.

Pro tip wooden peel In ,metal peel out.
I use a steel 1/4 plate for my pizzas in a standard oven it works great and not as delicate ceramic pizza stones. This is a good alternative for those who don't have the funds, space or skill set to attempt something like this. Great work guys and yummy looking pizza.

Bro tip - cut the wood thinner for a better flame, you actually want flame going over the top of the dome for certain type of pizzas and you'll get a little bit of char on the crust and cheese if you like that.
