- Mr. Betty White makes his first appearance on Match Game. Today's Panel: Allen Ludden, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Joyce Bulifant, Richard Dawson, and Fannie Flagg
I saw Gene and Helen Rayburn on an episode of Tattletales. It was fun to watch them interact. Helen was a strong woman.
wow, Fannie pulls two out of the hat. Love the biplay between she abd Richard. And if you haven't read any of her books, find one. She is a hoot. Thanks MGP for these wonderful eps.
Agreed! 1) Fannie must have been psychic to match such random, oddball answers. 2) "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe" is a delightful read, as are Fannie's other books.
Watched this show with my grandmother win I was 11 yrs.old. Brings back memories
I love the older Gene Rayburn clips in these episodes. ❤️
Fintan Cummings I think he looks a lot like Bob Dole in their twilight years....
Loved Fannie!
17:25 Lovely double-entendre by Charles: abroad and a broad.
And he starts with a sharp play on words about cups at 8:10. I think he was the most reliably humorous panelist, and most of his quips were based on wordplay.
Allen was very good on here
Did you know Match Game was on the same stage as The Price is Right (Studio 33)
The Bob Barker Studio
So did Wheel of Fortune 1989-95
Card Sharks (Eubanks) 1986-89
RIP Studio 33
I agree with Joyce. The co-pilot was giving the pilot a flying lesson.
That’s what I said too 😂
Crazy Allen and Gene are/were the same age here
Brett's real hair looked a lot better than her wigs!
Kim B, that's me - IKR, her real hair looks way more awesome.
Both looked gorgeous.
I’m sure they were all wigs not her real hair.
Brett wore wigs whenever she woke up with a terrible hangover and when she was feeling lazy and didn't want to take a shower.
ANYONE'S real hair would look better than a wig
Anyone besides me notice the two times Gene Rayburn calles the celebrities “ding a lings” before it came up in the Super Match?
No
Brett's attempt at the joke about trying Allen was uncalled for and tasteless, even for her
Not really. When you know someone very well like they did, you can make jokes like that without it being offensive. Brett & Betty were best of friends and made lots of jokes at each other's expense.
@@BAlover7602 I don't care about them being friends. Brett is a classless wannabe comedian. Sometimes one can tell that Betty is a little annoyed with her. For the people who say they were friends, this may surprise you, but friends can annoy you at times also. SURPRISE!
Whoa! Gene just about forced that kiss on Joyce!
I was thinking just how MUCH times were different then. Soooo much random kissing going on! lol And it seemed perfectly 'normal' to all. And that was quite a way Gene planted that one on Joyce for sure.
Gene and Richard were perverts.
@@jessechristian8665 lol, no kidding! (I think Richard though more than Gene)
Ok and your point is
@@jessechristian8665 Richard yes, Gene no because Gene was married
I want to know what Allen wrote on the first card about what the co-pilot gave the pilot......he could be devilish....I always thought he was a handsome, charming man with a killer smile!
He said, "He gave the pilot and hand job"
This is me Debbie King amazed by seeing me lmao oh how time flies..part is missing when rheyvaskedme about myself boo thank you for the compliments wish I was alittle bit younger and knew what I knew now..at agw 82 amazed my favorito Betty said BANANA for a marrtni why vananisnot even ROUND WOW Bettyyou let me down booooo
Setup 3:47 - Gene drops a riotous quip at 4:15. Priceless.LOL
Fanne is so funny and all so Richard he's so hansom! Elizabeth Vasquez 😇
Warning! In New York City premiering may be hazardous to your health
Marjorie could be a double for June Lockhart....face AND voice!
Panelists:
1. Allen Ludden
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Joyce Bullifant
5. Richard Dawson
6. Fannie Flagg
that head to head question was so easy, all she needed to say was step brother, aldo that wouldn't had Matched neither.
"Dur-rink"
The pilot for THE MICHELLE LEE SHOW *might* have aired April 5th, 1974, but that's uncertain. It did not get picked up as a regular series. Joyce Bulifant played a character named "Gladys Gooch".
I guarantee you Gene was one of those guys who chases his secretary around the desk.
Yea, he and Richard were both preoccupied with sex. Everything that came out of their mouths had sexual overtones. I used to be *ALMOST* that bad when I was in junior high, but I grew out of it around 20.
And yet you are wrong because Gene wa married
And by the Richard probably chases the secretaries instead of Gene
@@jessechristian8665 Richard yes, Gene no because Gene was married
I saw Gene and Helen Rayburn on an episode of Tattletales. The show asks on person in the relationship about the other. Helen seemed to be a very strong and confident. I impression was that Gene probably was a big flirt but at the end of the day he went home to Helen.
Mary is very pretty. 😊 love her hair style
Very pretty but not the sharpest tool in the shed........
how did marjorie win this much?
revinevan87 what a ding-bat
Marjorie, an absolute MORON.
By matches the celebrities, that is how she won
ya big brother was it. drink ya but give the pilot a map? maybe?
Eh, half or step were equally good. "My" is not.
@@dondraper7798 That Marjorie was an absolute dunce.
I thought "______ Brother" was a fairly hard match. My first thought was "Blood", but there's also half, frat, big little, step. I felt for the contestant drawing a blank that way. She seems like a really nice lady.
Yeah, I was thinking either "big brother" or "oh brother"
Grant-Macius, round 2, question B: "Nero Wolfe understood this: LEAVING THE HOUSE." (Bzzt!)
Question A: "I was looking for something with holes, so I said a HAIR NET." (Bzzt!)
Super Match, part 1: DONG
Part 2: BIG
Grant-Hash, round 1, question B: "Anyone else remember that old prank, the HOT-FOOT?" (Bzzt!)
Question A: "As an old Jacobite, I find this shameful of Richard - but yes, it's on his CHEST." (Ding!)
Joyce gave a recent interviewed and talked about how some women were very uncomfortable about Rayburn kissing them on the lips having.
You can tell she was uncomfortable when he kissed her on this show🤦🏻♂️
He slipped tongue a lot,,,once he did that to Betty and she was not happy, she swatted at him and then gave him the stink eye! She wasn't laughing!
@@karenenderle532 Betty? Do you mean Brett? If not which episode
Somehow I do not believe that story
Parachute!
Allen Ludden was a true gentleman unlike Dawson
Richard was born in Nov 1934. He is 40 here.....He looks much older than 40.
He smoked 4 packed everyday...which I would think would contribute a lot
@@alexiak7034 4 packs a day....geez. I'm surprised he didn't get lung cancer.
1932
Richard sadly did not age gracefully. He really didn't look good in his later years.
@@pencils812I believe he died from a lung related disease.
My stars! Brett's hair look FAB-U-LOUS! *I typed that in Charles's voice, only gayer. (**no homo)
What is **no homo supposed to mean?
@@jerradriggs2884 It means I am not a homosexual, the gay tone of my comment notwithstanding.
ROFL! Another fine episode! :0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! :0) ROFL! Love ya Fannie! ;0) ROFL!
