I wonder why Johnny Olson usually introduces Richard Dawson as “From Family Feud, Richard Dawson” on Match Game PM, but not on the CBS daytime counterpart. Richard was hosting ABC’s top-rated game show at that time.
You answered your own question. CBS wouldn’t advertise for another network’s show. PM episodes would be broadcast on local affiliates (which could be CBS, NBC, or ABC) and weren’t subject to network advertising restrictions.
Well, considering this was the daytime show on CBS, it probably wouldn't have been good promoting a show on rival network ABC. When it came to the PM show, it didn't matter considering that one was in syndication.
Nestor Suan I understand what you mean but personally if I was on this show and one person always seemed to deliver the correct responses I wouldnt want my fate at the mercy of some stupid wheel and the wrong celebrity. Richard had an uncanny ability to understand the person he was matching and how they thought by paying attention to them during the game. The other celebrities never peeped that out. Too busy cracking jokes which was cool but they didn’t really play to help you make money. I hated the wheel. I noticed people didn’t win the big cash as much as soon as they started with the wheel.
Nestor Suan case in point when the guy didn’t win with the other Richard. Notice Richard Dawson knew who Christine Lund was:)

The wheel was dumb and from my understanding it was put in place because some of the stars didn't like the fact Richard was always chosen. The contestants should be able to choose who they wanted. I believe they changed it back. Sometimes some of the stars where so aloof I feel as if they chose a stupid answer so the contestant could not win. Also the crazy bantering was a major part of the show's popularity.
Richard had the brains to know the best answers...
and didn't discourage them from picking him.
I don’t care why Richard Dawson is wearing those glasses but he looks hot. Looks like Lee Majors older brother.

When did the audience start the applause when the star's names were being read?
Somewhere after Dawson left, but not sure when.....I imagine it wasn't long however though.
Notice when they introduce Richard they do NOT plug Family Feud

When he first got Feud Gene plugged it all of the time. Gene stopped plugging it in 77 when Feud passed Match Game and became the #1 game show.
Classic CBS Daytime
Only wish it would've stayed as such!
Isn't this so awesome that they put all these classic game shows on here...
I believe this is MatchGame PM. It is classic TV.

Finally, the new program with the spinning wheel, where contestants can be chosen by any celebrity, instead of choosing Dawson all the time !!

Richard Dawson got Sunglasses?
He had an eye infection at the time - he also wore them on "Family Feud".
I hope they bring JESSICA back. I don’t know for what reason, but I really do.
