This program makes life more exciting.
Technically Carol Burnett did appear on the Match Game when she, Vicky Lawrence, Tim Conway and Jim Nabors made a surprise appearance and, sitting on the step, played along answering one question.
I just love this show!

Allan Ludden shows humility being a panelist. With the other great game show hosts Gene Rayburn and Richard Dawson on the same stage.

Regarding the GSN trivia shown near the end of the episode, Carol Burnett actually did appear on Match game once, not as a panelist but as a visitor along with a few cast members of the Carol Burnett show.
The big CBS stars very likely didn't guest panel on Match Game because they would have been too expensive.
I saw that one.
Also because they both share the same studio.
Many CBS stars did appear. I believe they were paid scale, whicich means next to nothing. They did MG to plug their shows and many of the stars enjoyed playing the game and interacting with the other stars. There were a few stars like Betty White, Allen Ludden, Bobby Van etc that seemed to rotate between the games of the time.
Vicky Lawrence was on the first week (I believe) and did very well.

That quiz about who never appeared on Match Game is kinda wrong. Carol Burnett did appear on the show with her current cast of her show. Granted it was a walk on cameo thing to promote her show but they did answer a question. So ....🤷

I was sorry to see Marjorie go. Sweet lady. Too bad she couldn't connect.
The questions in the game tended to be geared towards baby boomers. Marjorie was from the previous generation, and that may have been why she fumbled. Although, a middle-aged woman in the 70s should have been more likely to say "poodle" than "golf", and that's probably why Richard changed his answer. She did say that she thought of "poodle" first, and she probably changed her answer to "golf" in order to appear more "hip".

sorry. i just watched carol burnett drop by match game with the whole cast of her show as guests. they ran around quite a lot on the set. she looked like she was unusually thin.
That's right. They visited the set and ended up participating in the game as I recall. I don't remember which year that was.

Horses don't sit?
Actually they pretty much don't sit, if my years of watching the Animal Cops shows told me anything. They spent pretty much all their hours waking and sleeping standing up because they have to, or their organs will be crushed by their body weight. They usually only lie down to scratch their back or if they're severely sick. If they sit, it's usually just a few moments if they're going to lie down or stand up.
