I put the 19" windshield on mine and it was the best move I made. 120 mph and it feels like you could drink coffee and use one hand. Not that I would do that, the coffee I mean.
Jerry P. - I’ve been debating on the windshield size or maybe going with the Memphis shade mini fairing. Good to hear the 19” works. I need something to cut the wind on highway rides.
Everyone is so gun ho over the new Low Rider S (I really like it), but the Fab Bob just has a super nice complete look. Those meaty tires and headlight just screams badass.
Old post, but the headlight is a love/hate for most people. They either love it or hate it, personally I love it. It's something different and it looks bad ass! I've seen some with the 5 3/4 headlight and some with the 7 inch headlight conversion and it just didn't look right. The closest I've seen was a 5 3/4 with a Sportster headlight eyebrow, but it still didn't look as good as the stock headlight. That's just my opinion!
Love the Fat Bob Headlight. I would buy it just because of the headlight. With LED’s, like car headlights, change is in the air. Retro is not the only type of style.
That’s a great bike! Love your explanation of the Stage 3 vs Stage 4! So many dealers just push rides into the Stage #4 because of the price/profit margin! Appreciate the honesty! All the best in 2020 to you, Matt!
I just got my 2019 Fat Bob with the TBR exhaust. It’s all blacked out. I have a nice tinted windscreen on it. LED lights/signals front and back. I just take short training rides of about an hour a day. Practice slow maneuvers, uturns, emergency stops, swerving, etc. My bike sounds almost exactly like yours! Amazing torque. My uturns from a stop are still improving, but I need more work! I live in the Phoenix area. Love my FAT BOB 114!!!
Have you done a fatbob vs Low Rider S video? That may be a cool one to make. Highlight the differences between them and what type of rider may benefit from one model over the other ✌️
Always enjoy the ride along Matt. I stopped in last week and talked for a while with Rick at your dealership. Appreciated his input and conversation. I stopped at another dealer and saw that a Sport Glide was marked up to 23000 dollars....I can dig what y’all do with prices..
If you get this message can you let me know how you like it so far? I never thought in a million years that I would get a Harley but this bike has me thinking...
@@yellow-_-toaster5627 if you enjoy the feeling of a bike accelerating so hard it requires hanging on for dear life this bike is a good start. I changed the oil pump, cam set bearings, pushrods, and had a new dyno tune to prevent it from blowing the top end like both my Stage three 2017 and 2019 Streetglide CVOs did.
Matt you did it again! You sold me on the Fat Bob with your review of the 2017 model; I now have a 2014 Fat Bob with Stage 1; but now I must say the Softail version is worth considering - awesome video!!
Ive had the Stage 4 on my 2018 breakout for a year now and am more than happy with the way it performs. Drop it down a gear and twist the throttle and it almost leaves u behind. It would be cool to see some content on any road trips or rides you might have planned in the future Matt. Cheers.
I know this comment was 2 years ago. I'm considering moving to a cruiser and I'm kinda torn between a ducati diavel and one of these. What kind of horse power is this thing putting out. Why does it seem to accelerate kinda sluggish? At least the video makes it seem that way. I'm currently on a kawasaki z800 which isn't a rocket ship but it climbs faster than this speedo is showing. I'm at around 116 hp and 98ft pounds. Bike weighs in at 500 pounds so it's not light either
I own a ‘19 Fat Bob with a Bassani RR3, air cleaner, and power vision tuner... and extremely happy with it. I can only imagine the smile-factor with a stage 4!
Shaun DuVall save your self some money i got a 2019 fxbb with a tbr exhaust a power vision and a s&s 475 cam and I have two buddy’s one with a stage 4 fxfb and a stage 4 fxbb and my bike is just as fast as as both and for quarter of the price the fat bob may have a little more on the bottom but top end no problem
Great video, Matt. I just started modifying my bike. I have to do a little at a time. It was completely stock for 9 months. Now, I have very minor additions. Someday, I’d like to change out the exhaust and do some other mods to the engine. Just can’t do it right now. In the meantime, I get to live vicariously through your videos. Haha!
I started riding a zx6r, then zx7r, and came off a Duke 690 for it. Once thought I would never own a Harley. I do miss the Duke sometimes what an extremely lightweight and torquey bike. . The 114 fat bob is just an awesome bike I love it.no regrets. However i didnt enjoy the stock handlebars for long rides over an hour. 10 inch risers and t bars fixed that. Bars are right at shoulder height it's perfect. Wild 1 Chubby savage risers + bars, two bros comp s 2-1, fuel moto intake, power vision, woods wm8-22x cam, woods lifters + pushrod. The bike absolutely rips, sounds amazing, and with the new bars I can ride the bike all day.
They are great bikes! I can't think of anything to complain about on mine. 5 gallon tank would have been nice. But most of my riding involves 100 miles or less so its not a deal breaker.
Been following your channel for a while now and got to say I can’t wait to finally buy my future Harley at your shop. Best of luck on future success man.
A friend had a Fatbob with that exact setup dealer fitted from new. All he got when cracking it open was clutch slip and had to spend a bunch more money on clutch upgrade. Unlike the touring model the softail stage 4 kit did not come with updated clutch parts in the kit in the UK.
That bike looked and sounded very cool. That's some serious dough to sink into your bike though. And lastly, your local streets blow as bad as our local streets in Orlando.
Great video Matt, loved it! Now I have a thought which may or may not have occurred to you. Lots of people love the Softail chassis. Many don’t want to move up to a full tourer as they don’t want to lose an ounce of agility. How about a special Sport Glide build with a Batwing Fairing and Boombox infotainment system. This would potentially become the entry level tourer that would fill a gap. Perfect for some wanting the agility with a fully featured bike and a stepping stone for others. Just a 💭 thought.
I have a 2020 fat bob 114 and just did a stage 4 with the SE heavy breather filter. 2 questions 1) I can't reach the foot brake pedal, do you have the same problem as the filter is in the way???? 2) my top speed is 120, how can I surpass that??? I put the road warrior fairing with 11" windshield from Memphis Shade to give it a killer look. Looking forward to your response....
I think this bike would look great with mini apes on it can you guys get a pic with one so I can see what it looks like i am having a hard time deciding on what bike I want to get I just have my own style
Man, great video, as usual. I find it uncomfortable at triple digits on myb'19" roadglide, getting beat up by the wind... cant imagine taking 100% of it, without any fairing. That being said, I like the style of the FBob.
Yeah Matt you’re dead on. I don’t know who the manufacturer is, but I’ve seen a fairing that fits that headlight and it looks badass. Maybe Memphis Shades.
Hello, thanks for the great video. May i ask if having a full exhaust system is mandatory wgo Stage IV which will probably be my selection for my fat bob 2021. Here where i live in Quebec laws are very strict concerning sound/pollution.. also i got to admit i love the look of the Vance&Hines hiOutput slip ons.
This bike is fun to ride just stock. I couldn't imagine what it would be like with Stage 2, 3 and especially 4. Totally agree with getting a fairing of some kind because above 70mph, that wind is hitting you right in the chest. Yes, do a video on the extended warranty when going to Stage 1-4. I discussed the issue with several dealerships when I was shopping around for Stage kits. Their overall suggestion is to go with Harley parts with the extended warranty. Wait till you get that bike paid for or many miles on it until you start experimenting with aftermarket parts because it can get stupid expensive if something goes bad.
I don’t disagree. I think the fat bob is my favorite softail too. I’m down with the LRS but the Fat Bob has such a unique appeal that is such a progressive style.
Let's see some SE Pro Street Tuner videos Matt. I've only got a stage I but I'd really be interested in some more tuning information for the average enthusiast.
Matt Laidlaw what about for commuting? Does the “fairing” on the lrs offer enough protection at the sacrifice of mid controls (leg position) in a factory to factory comparison?
Has there been any change to the bike from 2018-19-2020? Aside from color. I’m looking at one for my next purchase, and want it in white, unless there were upgrades for the model years
I wanna see a new low rider s with a nice set of apes, forward controls and some stage 3 torque. It's a sick bike but I prefer apes to t-bars, but I don't know how it would look with the fairing tho.
I want to know and have been told 112 is the most this bike will do stock. I had a stock 2020 114 Fat Bob reading 118. A guy at Harley Davidson said these digital speed odometer can be off up to 4mph. What are your thoughts on getting more top end speed or is it even possible with this M8 engine?
Hey Matt, can you tell me how this compares to a 2017 dyna low rider s? I test rode a new low rider s but didnt really like the feel or sound of the m8. I like the sound and feel of the 110 ci twin cam more still. This video has made me rethink it a bit. Can you compare them a bit?
A few great things about this review Matt, that other bloke who has been helping you do the review lately is boring in the way he talks, he is knowledgeable just boring, Secondly, thanks for finally showing us a bike with a stage upgrade that wasn’t in its break in period, wld love to see that club style dyna that your fellow employ owns now that it should be broken in. And good to see the day reviews back, the night ones don’t give you feel for the surrounds and speed as you are riding. Just my opinion from down under in Aus. Keep em coming.
It’s a snowy and cold day in Indiana and my Street Bob and I are both under blankets. Thanks for the virtual ride. I needed it!
Paul Cox thanks for the laugh 😂
I put the 19" windshield on mine and it was the best move I made. 120 mph and it feels like you could drink coffee and use one hand. Not that I would do that, the coffee I mean.

I tried 115 without windshield lol
Everyone is so gun ho over the new Low Rider S (I really like it), but the Fab Bob just has a super nice complete look. Those meaty tires and headlight just screams badass.
I prefer the Lowrider S looks, and the front light might take time getting used to.
100% bro ...fat bob is a beast
Old post, but the headlight is a love/hate for most people. They either love it or hate it, personally I love it. It's something different and it looks bad ass! And the Softail Slim is cool too haha
After my fat bob purchase? I am glad I went with it instead of the used crashed low rider st ! 🤓🤔
Love the Fat Bob Headlight. I would buy it just because of the headlight. With LED’s, like car headlights, change is in the air. Retro is not the only type of style.
I could listen to this for hours, sounds so good
TBR is awesome
That’s a great bike! Love your explanation of the Stage 3 vs Stage 4! So many dealers just push rides into the Stage #4 because of the price/profit margin! Appreciate the honesty! All the best in 2020 to you, Matt!

Love hearing this bike rip through the gears with that awesome exhaust!
Have you done a fatbob vs Low Rider S video? That may be a cool one to make. Highlight the differences between them and what type of rider may benefit from one model over the other ✌️
I know video uploads can never fully capture any sounds precisely, but that sounds pretty perfect to me. Thanks Matt.
Love this underrated bike!
Always enjoy the ride along Matt. I stopped in last week and talked for a while with Rick at your dealership. Appreciated his input and conversation. I stopped at another dealer and saw that a Sport Glide was marked up to 23000 dollars....I can dig what y’all do with prices..
Thanks man
The most underrated Softail, i wish it came with a 5 gallon tank. This will be my next upgrade 👍🏽
sooraj sai ugh so true I wish we had the 5 gall tank too. It’s just not good enough.
Anyone know of a cool tank upgrade for the fat bob ?
I liked the bike in the video so much I bought it. Thanks Matt and Dave

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for for my 18 fat bob. Wow! Need a quote, Matt!
I love the cold weather, but this gets me excited for the warmer temperatures.
Stage IV going on my Street Bob soon can't wait. she will be a rocket
The worse part of this entire video is the damn ads from UA-cam interrupting the great ride footage. Man, this bike is a BEAST!!!
I love my 18 fat bob, just wish I had bought it at laidlaws and saved myself almost a grand
Matt Knows how to drive a bike for real! Doing over 100 on a busy hwy with no fairing.
I own a ‘19 Fat Bob with a Bassani RR3, air cleaner, and power vision tuner... and extremely happy with it.
I can only imagine the smile-factor with a stage 4!
@Shaun DuVall any problems with cops with Bassani exhausted?
Robert Gordillo none. My area (South Carolina) is very biker friendly. Guys run open drag pipes with no issues.
Set of T-bars and that thing is a BEAST
Yes sir! Fat Bob should come stock with T-Bars
K Dyna bro
Big ole 17s n its a monster
I never thought ide even look at this bike but holy cow it's beautiful

That bike looks like a blast to ride 👌looks and sounds amazing 🇺🇸💪🏻
Ready to try s&s big bore kit to make 131 . My 2023 is my new bae .have 11.5 miles on it .can’t wait to finish my build
Awesome video Matt 👍 what a way to start the new year! That was enthusiastic and exhilarating 🏍️
That fat bob looks beefy looking and fast sounds great it makes me want to trade in my Yamaha and go Harley
Just do it!! You won’t be disappointed! 👍
i traded my suzuki gsxr1000 for it , i never look back....sometimes top speed is not everything.
I started riding a zx6r, then zx7r, and came off a Duke 690 for it. Once thought I would never own a Harley. I do miss the Duke sometimes what an extremely lightweight and torquey bike. . I went from a CBR RR to a fat bob 114 & love every second of it. I never saw myself on a H-D until I saw the new fat bob. Now I’m hooked.
They are great bikes!
I can't think of anything to complain
about on mine. 5 gallon tank would
have been nice.
But most of my riding involves
100 miles or less so
its not a deal breaker.
Bought one 8 months ago. Then got a fantastic deal trading it on a Road Glide. Kinda regret it, but only a little. That fat bob is a super cool bike.
Been following your channel for a while now and got to say I can’t wait to finally buy my future Harley at your shop. Best of luck on future success man.

5 k and I can rock the same set up and haul the mail! Screaming eagle never disappoints!!
I keep coming back to this video for the exhaust note🤣 I need a sound machine putting me to sleep with this exhaust note😎

Cool bike. I like that fat bob and its head lamp. Only thing I would change, are the pegs (I would like mid pegs). Espcially with that Stage 4 kit.
I have a 2020 fat bob 114 and just did a stage 4 with the SE heavy breather filter.
2 questions
1) I can't reach the foot brake pedal, do you have the same problem as the filter is in the way????

A very impressive machine. Thanks for sharing Matt.
I think this bike would look great with mini apes on it can you guys get a pic with one so I can see what it looks like i am having a hard time deciding on what bike I want to get I just have my own style
Motorcycle response real nice to the throttle Happy New Year Matt Love the performance videos take care
That sound made my heart raced
Would this be a good fit for someone 6'3" tall?
I got a 19 with stage two torque cam and two brothers exhaust as well, color Bonneville salt👍👍
If I just install that exhaust would the Fat Bob sound like that?
Does the air-intake and filter make your leg in a weird position for the brake or comfort? Thanks
Bad ass!!!! 👍 love the fat bob!! My first Harley was a 2014 amber whiskey fat bob wish I would’ve be able to keep and buy my bagger too!!!
Man, great video, as usual. I find it uncomfortable at triple digits on myb'19" roadglide, getting beat up by the wind... cant imagine taking 100% of it, without any fairing. That being said, I like the style of the FBob.
You’re making me want to stage 4 AND get a TBR 2-into-1 exhaust now .... fuck... that sound is ridiculously nice with the m8.
Yeah Matt you’re dead on. I don’t know who the manufacturer is, but I’ve seen a fairing that fits that headlight and it looks badass. Maybe Memphis Shades.
Tarpon1989
Dougz Customs Spartan Fairing. Check it out
Mean looking bike dude and it sounds like it wants to destroy everything on the road🤘
That TBR exhaust looks heaps better than the OEM pipes on the Fat Bob.
100mph effortlessly, I NEED a m8 Softail in my life
True words!
Harrison Wilson you really do!!
My Fatbob lives at 100, One handed. Such a sold frame. You won’t be disappointed.
Dude it’s literally the best! 2019 fat boy 114 here
My Softail Low rider s glides and hums at 100.
My 2019 fat bob is in the shop for upgrades right now.... I just wanna rip around on it so bad right now!!!
What tuner did you youse to tune it or did you just yoused the pro street tuner and loaded in a calibration only
Looks like a ton of fun
Tell us more about that Screamin Eagle warranty!
Great video Matt! A video on the latest/greatest motorcycle apparel (from your perspective) would be interesting
Hello, thanks for the great video. May i ask if having a full exhaust system is mandatory wgo Stage IV which will probably be my selection for my fat bob 2021. Awesomeness...still waiting on the 2020 heritage softail review :-)
Does the air breather get in the way of your right leg’s natural position? As cool as it is it looks like it gets in the way quite a bit
Grats on 90k + subs Matt! 👍👊👏
Thank you!
Dream bike af. Can’t wait to upgrade to one of these bad boys. Currently have an 18’ 883. It’s fun but too slow.
At least you’re riding brother. The iron is a great first Harley.
Love that sound!

I don’t disagree. I think the fat bob is my favorite softail too. I’m down with the LRS but the Fat Bob has such a unique appeal that is such a progressive style.
Nick was right a few months back, the higher the rear end the better these dynatails handle!
What would be the full cost involved for this and how much BHP do you get out of it please.
Such a sick bike
Hi, Matt.
Any idea as to why SE don't offer Stage IV crate engine for Softails, i.e. for FXFBS?
"thanks,". 🥺
Looks like someone turned Bender from Futurama into a motorcycle.
Nice nice comment man; so truoooooooo....!
Just bad ass bike exhaust note is glorious.
the best looking harley!
What bike do you like better? The this fatbob or the lowrider s from your last video?
Let's see some SE Pro Street Tuner videos Matt. I've only got a stage I but I'd really be interested in some more tuning information for the average enthusiast.
Porque no existe esa cultura de manejo en mexico..! Felicitaciones por el canal, que en lo personal es el mejor para mi..!!
How do you ride this thing with the front wheel on the ground?
Nice ride and sounds awesome. Be good to see reviews on harley associates that can to our bikes as well as clothing. Keep up the great videos.
Matt, I have a 2021 Fat Bob and want to do the stage 4.
Please give me a good estimate of what this entire kit and labor to install costs
I love the fat Bobs second to my road glide . I think the headlight looks different
Does it ever rain there?
I noticed that the speedo/tach one the fat bob was different than stock, is it a Harley or after market one?
Matty... what brand/design are the cream gloves you are wearing plz?
You guys are super amazing at what you do with your Harley bikes! 🐺🤘
Fat bob vs low rider s ? What handles better in your opinion
They are so close that I couldn’t pick one over another.
Matt Laidlaw what about for commuting? Does the “fairing” on the lrs offer enough protection at the sacrifice of mid controls (leg position) in a factory to factory comparison?
Sounds Great Bro!-☆Just purchased my 2019,107--Roadking,,all stock ,Eye think?,☆
What tires are on this bike, they’re AWESOME.
Stage 3 and a fairing would do it for me. Would Z bars work on this bike okay with that power and torque, not make the bars flex?
Great stuff man! Keep up the good work!
Is that two brothers exhaust CA legal? Will it void the warranty if it's not, or is that just with an aftermarket tuner? Thanks
Matt, between this bike and a new Low S, which bike would handle turns at a better lean angle? About the same? Flickability? Traction in a turn...
Has there been any change to the bike from 2018-19-2020? Aside from color. I’m looking at one for my next purchase, and want it in white, unless there were upgrades for the model years
Diggin that boneville salt denim fat bob just before you pull out of the dealer.
Yea that’s a nice Fat bob we have for sale as well. We got some nice late model softails right now.
Hell of a sound 😀
I wanna see a new low rider s with a nice set of apes, forward controls and some stage 3 torque. It's a sick bike but I prefer apes to t-bars, but I don't know how it would look with the fairing tho.
I want to know and have been told 112 is the most this bike will do stock. I had a stock 2020 114 Fat Bob reading 118. A guy at Harley Davidson said these digital speed odometer can be off up to 4mph. What are your thoughts on getting more top end speed or is it even possible with this M8 engine?
Y’all know those red spark plug wires add 10HP right?? Haha. Love the Fat Bob! 🤙🏻
A few great things about this review Matt, that other bloke who has been helping you do the review lately is boring in the way he talks, he is knowledgeable just boring,
Secondly, thanks for finally showing us a bike with a stage upgrade that wasn’t in its break in period, wld love to see that club style dyna that your fellow employ owns now that it should be broken in. And good to see the day reviews back, the night ones don’t give you feel for the surrounds and speed as you are riding. Just my opinion from down under in Aus.
Keep em coming.
Hi Matt
Is it true that there is a New Softail Standard on the way this year?
