I have 2 hot water heaters in my crawlspace that are on a concrete pad, plus my craw space is fully encapsulated, it’s been there for 20+ years, no leaks no problems, the encapsulation is only about a year old ..The encapsulation company even put the vapor barrier on the concrete pad too!..excellent professional job !
They use poured concrete walls four feet tall on crawl spaces here. Some crawl spaces are heated with insulated crawl space walls of foam with plastic vapor barrier on floors and some have a skim or two inch concrete floors for storage. No insulation under floors. This is a cold winter area. I can't believe the plumbing and mess under that house.
Wow that’s a nasty crawl space lol. It looks like that flexible gas line was going through the cabinet of the furnace and could become a hazard for a gas leak. You said the house was maybe 25 years old but it’s already almost 2025 lol so that’s only 2,000. I’d say it’s at least 30 years old because that polybutylene plumbing was banned and discontinued in 1995.
@everythinghomerepair1747 you are probably correct. The house was way too young for the workmanship and wear. Thanks for watching. Friday's video will blow your mind. A very first for me.
Snake is a Dekay's brown snake. The individual here won't get much bigger (if at all). They are non venomous and will primarily feed on small inverts (worms, snails, slugs ext). They are harmless to humans and will eat pest bugs (roaches, crickets, ext).
@mikeys1459 I've bought 3 houses on slabs. Only because I personally don't want to deal with that kind of upkeep. The critters here are the moisture is worse. In that past 1 1/2 years I've put together over 300 videos. I'm not saying all crawlspaces are horrible, but they're not for me. Thanks for watching

@michaelfoust-d2k wow!! You are lucky. Now, I would crawl a house like that all day long. Even take my lunch breaks down there. Thanks for watching.
15:21 that is a sheet metal bender for bending metal for duct work on the HVAC system

A house’s crawlspace is a lot like a politician. Polish in places the public’s eye can see; yet, full of crap and snakes underneath.
That gray pipe is polybutylene and is no longer used. Was a class action lawsuit some years ago. The joints leak.
@dbverizon I'm glad I didn't mess with it much.😆 I've seen the white one. Probably the same. Thanks for watching
@Crawlspaceinspections whites a different type of piping.
They get up between the the subfloor and the insulation? You're telling me I can be crawling through my crawlspace and just have a snake fall on me?
@@TheWittyGeek 😆that's never happened to me. Maybe if you were pulling out the insulation. Yikes . Thanks for watching.

The tool looks like a metal crimper like they use on aluminum siding or maybe ductwork.
@virginiamoss7045 you're so smart😁thanks again. That video was a voiceover. I'm taking your advice

@@Daraku2951 they're pretty chill. Thanks for watching
after watching your videos I will never buy a house with a crawlspace.
