Thanks for the helpful video!! I was exposed to Spanish in school growing up a bit, but I’m hoping to learn the language over the next year so I can visit my grandparents who just moved back to Colombia this year!

I am in love with my Girlfriend of almost 2 years. She is half Hispanic, and uses only Spanish when hanging out with her dad’s side of the family. We both graduated college only a year ago, so most of our time and money is spent working off our student loans. I would love to be able to communicate with her family without breaking the bank! I love the videos! And fingers crossed I get selected!

Hello everyone, with full respect to everything said in this video as it is a preference in the end, I have to disagree due to the following reasons:
1- Babbel provides a faster reward system when you make correct hits on questions and has some really cool features (I use it)
2- However I also use Fluenz and EVEN THOUGH it has a lengthy lesson and does not promote the same reward system trigger (in psychology) to get you hooked, it IS better. Simply because it is actually structured in a staircase GUIDED learning method.
Learning italian on both apps, i must say Fluenz is better (if you really want to learn a language you have to make the effort even if it means sitting for an hour on a lesson and I know it may seem inconvenient)...It has helped me speak and understand the language much better than babbel or duelingo.
I hope this helps and thanks to the author of this vid!

As a soon to be senior in college, I have been studying the Spanish language since the eighth grade. This constant dedication has shown me just how difficult it can be to learn languages. If I were to choose another language to learn it would have to be German. My family ancestry is of German descent, my last name is even the city in Germany that we are from! I would love to connect to my family in this way. Who knows maybe one day I'd be able to speak German in Allendorf, Germany!

I don't know anything about Babbel, but I bought the full course of Fluenz Italian. I am on Level 4 and it has been a great success. I travel to Sicily yearly and my Sicilian friends are very impressed with my progress. I enjoy the classroom format; I don't want a game atmosphere. I want to learn the same way I learned Spanish in school. There are audio reviews I can listen in the car and virtual flashcards. Each class builds upon the last. I highly recommend Fluenz. You get what you pay for.

Thanks for the effort. I think between the two I'd go for Babble, I prefer and learn better from a gamified experience. Fluenz looks similar in structure to Pimsleur although a bit more conventional.

Great comparison. I would probably try Babble simply because of how simple they make their lessons.

I want to learn Spanish because I am located in Arizona. I’m working in a research clinic right now and I’d say over 50% of participants/coworkers speak Spanish.

As a language enthusiast, I want to learn every language that both programs offer. My goal is to first master 2 languages for business purposes by spending more study time on them. For the rest of the languages, I'll learn basic phrases everyday, so that once I have mastered the 2 languages, it will be easier for me to master the rest of the languages. 😊
