want to learn Spanish because I’m a medical professional that wants to be able to have a fluency level and fluid conversation with all my patients, regardless of what language they speak. Effective communication is essential to getting the patient the proper care that they need! Also, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the language app reviews that you have done. They are incredibly informative and insightful (as the name suggests lol) Anyway! I really liked this video. The pros to both these apps are pretty good. Also, by themselves you recommend them both. Both you also suggested that they could be complementary. Which I never thought about! But I’m still having a hard time choosing which program to go with as you have covered many. Hopefully I’ll be able to decide and hopefully I might be picked as the free giveaway winner! Thank you again for all your time and helpful reviews
I've been wanting to refresh and expand my Spanish, and I appreciate the info you put into your commentary. There's so many options now, and often the free trials don't really give you a good idea of what you're actually getting into. Thank you for laying out some of the differentiating factors!
I’m currently learning Swedish for an upcoming trip. I’ve been checking out your comparisons to see what will help me the most. Plan on visiting many countries and want to be able to immerse myself in the culture.
Thank you for this review. I bought the french course through your link and I am very impressed by their comprehensive course, including grammar and cultural insights AND with the emphasis of conversational skills. I've been using mondly until now, which has that emphasis as well with their "hands free" option after every lesson in the mobile app. You listen, repeat and get a quiz after 2 or 3 words/phrases and your pronunciation is checked as well. What's really missing in mondly is the grammar. While it does have some grammar lessons, there isn't really any explenation how and why you do what you do with the grammar. I have only done a few lessons with rocket french and already learned the three ways to ask a question in french and, which is impressive to me, also the cultural information, that means: rocket french explains in which situation formal/informal which of the three ways of forming a question is appropriate. And you learn a lot more about the culture, for example how small talk is different in france compared to america. So my impression is: if you REALLY want to learn a language, with an understanding of the grammar and cultural insights in the country, rocket language is perfect.
Thanks for the detailed comment. Agree with your insights above, well said. Mondly has its strengths, but Rocket is a more comprehensive and effective program overall.
This was super helpful, thank you! I did my first free trial lesson on Rocket Languages after watching this and I really like how it was structured. Will definitely consider moving forward with them, with Duolingo as a supplement.
I want to learn japanese for an upcoming trip and to talk to my mom in her native language! Thanks for the information! I'm leaning to using both as you suggest
I’ve been using Babbel for about a year now. I’m almost all the way through the program. I’ll probably give Rocket a try after watching this video! Thanks!
Another great video. I agree with the idea of using both (if you can). Two different learning methods is great. I’m currently using Rocket and Busuu. I really like both. They are VERY different, so you get the best of both worlds.
I had never even heard of rocket language but really leaning towards giving it a try. I like how gives you options to speak and be part of a conversation in the lesson.
@@TestPrepInsight I'm using Living Language program (someone gifted it to me.) It's big on grammar. It uses vocabulary and grammar mix, but doesn't do a lot of review. Every unit has 4 sections (words, phrases, sentences, conversations). Every lesson has vocab 1, grammar 1, vocab 2, grammar 2. Nice place to keep the grammar essentials for review. I'm also using Duolingo to supplement for now since it's free. But I'm looking for audio based apps for when I finish the Living Language course.
Thanks for these comparison videos! I’m looking to learn German for now, in hopes of a future job move to Germany. I don’t want to wait until moving time to start learning. I’m also looking for something that will work for everyone in my household, and that’s making the choice of resources much more difficult!
I'm learning Korean and Dutch. Korean for fun (I got bored during the pandemic) and Dutch for work. I've been using a variety of learning tools for each.
@@TestPrepInsight I've been using a combination a Pimsleur, comprehensible impute videos on UA-cam, and Drops. Since I'm just starting Dutch I'm thinking I might swap Rocket Languages for Pimsleur.
Homeschool mom here trying to figure out what program i should use for two high school foreign language credits. I'm very thankful for your videos, but I had to search for them. I was going to buy Fluenz bc a big curriculum company recommended it, but then I stumbled upon your videos and am thinking Babbel may be the best option for my student. All that to say, I think you should create a video titled "Best Homeschool Spanish Programs for 2024." We homeschool moms spend countless hours scouring YT looking for the very best curriculum reviews, and there's a huge need for high school curriculum flip throughs and reviews. I think it would be advantageous for your company to create some content along these lines, so you can break into our algorithms and get more traffic to your company. Just a thought...
I think I may have tried out Babbel once before long ago, but I may give it a try again. Been learning German on and off for a bit but really want to be better with it.
Rocket Languages is at the top of my list of programs to try!! I'm learning Spanish because so many people in my community speak Spanish. Thanks for another awesome video.
Thank you for this detailed comparison! I think I'm actually going to try both Babbel French and Rocket French because they complement each other well.
Great job on these videos! Thank you so much for doing them. My girlfriend's family is Cuban, and some of them speak very little English, so I am trying to learn Spanish to better communicate with them. I did have a question. Which language platform would you say best combines with Rocket Languages as a supplement for learning Spanish (also same question for Japanese)?
No problem! Glad we could help. So as for best supplemental app, I would suggest either Babbel, Busuu or Memrise. Rocket is fantastic for developing your listening comprehension and speaking skills, as well as grammar, but you also need to build out your vocabulary base. For that, I would use one of the three apps noted above. I know a lot of people combine Rocket or Pimsleur with Busuu.
Heyo! Did a challenging Rocket lesson last night, really made me think. Love Rocket. I think I would choose Babble as a supplementary courses for Rocket. So I totally agree with you haha!

I’ve considered paying for Babbel lifetime in the past. I’ve been thinking about it again recently, which is why I’m here watching this video. Thanks for the insight.
Accurate video! Im looking to learn Italian to pass the citizenship language test. I purchased Rocket based on your last review of these 2 and it does require more dedicated time (which I haven’t been able to set aside much). I’m now thinking of purchasing Babbel for the shorter lessons as well. Thanks for the review!
Your reviews are super useful! I have been binge watching them. I learn languages as a hobby and for work. Please keep doing the reviews! Awesome! I may be a winner for one of these language reviews. Who knows!🎉😂😅
Hmm, I won’t do both but I want to check out both. I have the time for rocket but if it doesn’t hold my attention because it’s too dry, then it would be a waste of money because I would lose interest. I need a program that keeps me motivated and moving.
I'm new to your channel and will keep exploring. I appreciate the insight into both platforms. I am searching for something to use as our homeschool language curriculum. My son did not care for Rosetta Stone. He did not feel supported in the lessons with instruction. What would you recommend for teaching German in a homeschool setting? thanks
Once I get a little extra cash, I'm planning on getting Rocket Language for Spanish. And possibly Babbel to supplement during the day when I'm a little bored. I'm using the free Duolingo...but obviously that's not as on par as Rocket or Babbel Hoping developing a language learning routine will get me somewhere with Spanish once the New Year comes around.
Thank you this is very helpful. I have one question however. I work in emergency medicine and wonder which of all the programs you suggest for me? Thank you
First, for purposes of just learning essential, intermediate Spanish, we recommend Rocket Spanish. It is by far our favorite program. However, it is based on audio lessons, so if that doesn't work for you, we would suggest Babbel or Rosetta Stone (Babbel for faster moving, short lessons and Rosetta Stone for visual learners). For medical specific terminology, check out this course from Mango Languages: mangolanguages.com/specialty-course/medical/ Mango has some pretty good specialty courses for career language purposes. I have not used the Spanish medical one myself, but it is probably your best bet for emergency medicine lingo.

I am learning French. I already speak English, and some spanish For me language learning is fun and interesting. I am conversational in Spanish and want to exceed that with my French learning
I’ve been working on learning German for a few reasons. One is the possibility of going to Germany while still in the army, two because of some native German speakers in my family, and finally to learn a language that can challenge me and is different than the usual Spanish or French speaking bilingual friends I have
Im learning french so I can speak to my wife and our baby (on the way) in french. My wife is a native speaker and ive always struggled with languages and I would love to learn it!
Great insight on this. I really do like Rocket a lot. But I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on buying it. But yeah honestly it is more of an academic course than Babbel. Perfect way to describe it.
@@TestPrepInsight unfortunate. Im really looking for a good lifetime language program that I can learn both Japanese and Spanish from to the point of becoming fluent. If you have any suggestions it would be appreciated.
