    Feeling depressed ? Dealing with a break-up, job-loss, or cultural shock ? Ubermensch will attempt to arm you with the tools and techniques required to deal with the adversary, and become a better version of yourself.
    But before we embark on a war with a depressed self, let’s try to define the depression. Depression is more than just feeling down. It is a prolonged feeling of unhappiness, despair, and apathy, that affects all aspects of our lives, including work, emotions, physical health, and relationships. In other words, you think your life sucks, and you think there is nothing you can do to make the situation better.
    Engaging in quarrels with the loved ones, experiencing the disrespect and humiliation by others, or being misunderstood by your social peers and laughed at, oftentimes trigger a prolonged period of depression. And while negative emotions such as disappointment or anger, last only temporary, a state of depression will prevail. So how do you fight it ?
    First things first, you have to identify what causes it, and let go. One person that I spoke with recently came from a third-world country, where he grew up in the divisive environment of social inequality. He was bullied and disrespected, and as a result couldn’t believe in his ability to live a happy and fulfilling life within his new community. His old negative experiences prevented him from trying to make new friends, or uncovering his true potential as a human being.
    So how do you let something like this go ? Here at Ubermensch we believe that getting out of your comfort zone, and trying new things is the greatest cure to the disease we call depression. By harnessing those negative emotions and using them as a fuel to make yourself a better person you prove to yourself that your life is in your hands, and there is no excuse to let your past influence your future. One suggestion would be to expand your horizons, and do things you wasn’t previously able to do. Sign up for a gym, and gain 10 lbs of muscle over the next four weeks. For those who feel particularly unsocially - get a customer- oriented job and try to meet new people.
    Step number three is to ask for help. There is nothing wrong with opening up and sharing your insecurities. In fact, by discussing that issue with your social peers allows you to see how much smaller the problem really is. In my opinion, people that are unaffected are capable of providing much better solution on how to cope with negativity. Talk to your guys at work, or in the gym, and see what they think you should do next. Take it as a game, as a challenge, and don’t stress to much of what you think they might think of you.
    At the end of the day, our lives are too short to let negative emotions affect ourselves.
