That’s just a simple Loretta song. Pure country that makes you smile. 😅
Loretta is was and will forever be one of the greatest song writers
While many people don’t consider her one, Loretta is one of the greatest Outlaw Country artists. Why do I consider her an Outlaw? She’s had 11 number 1 country hits that were band from Country Radio. This was one of them. It was band because it mentioned “the pill”.
This woman got women talking to each other! Big Mistake!! You men dont have a chance when Bossy Hens get together and have a hen party in the kitchen! Talkin about you, their man. Oh Boy, the ideas just start rolling out! xo
Not to mention " The Pill". Love that song!
Who knows now exactly who she meant by Liz, Jackie, Debbie, and Raquel. Women's Lib. Better Homes And Gardens. These were important news items in 1971. We felt included in the song because our lives weren't really affected by those things either. Hubby didn't run out of money for the phone. He was done delivering his message so he hung up.
Fun fact when she performed this live she had fun with last lyrics
My favorite Loretta Lynn song love it love you
I live about 5 miles from her home place here in Eastern Kentucky ❤😊🫶
Remember when this song came out and how it was so relatable to my Mom and House wives around the country. Now a days the term 'housewife has almost falling out of existence.---UTRCM
Don, soo good to have time to ck in again.busy busy busy. Still doin a great job. Lov this song for decades… 😂😂😂 funny as… take care friend👍👏👏👏
Would have never thought this would be written by a man. Just shows the genius of Shell Silverstein
This was a huge huge huge hit! Still relevant today
Great reaction. I couldn't click on this one fast enough. I heard that Shel Silverstein wrote this song with Loretta in mind. With that said, the line about hoping it's not twins again was not part of the original song Loretta added that. The story she tells when her twin daughters heard that they were a little mad at her.
They also got mad whenever she called them twins. Lol
My favorite Loretta song
This always makes me smile and takes me back in time. While my childhood was difficult, I always imagine in my mind the picture perfect family when I hear these throwbacks!
I love this song. I just love anything she does. Thank you for this song and your great reaction.
Thamks again.
And, that is why Loretta was the greatest.
Great song ❤
#first....saw this one and clicked quickly..you nees to listen to the pill next. Lol
I wish you would listen to I can’t hear the music anymore from Loretta she wrote it about her husband it’s a beautiful song.
Yes, I agree he needs to hear that! I love that song.
Super choice - thanks Don!
What a great song! Good one, Don! With 10 kids , it sounds like our house, only mama didn't have anyone to call. She just dealt. LOL
I like it. Cheers!
I remember watching Loretta sing this song on The Muppet Show. It was so cute & funny. As always she sang with that big smile on her face!
Liz Taylor, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Raquel Welch, & Debbie Reynolds....takes us back in time. I wonder if Loretta ever sang with Debbie Reynolds??
Talk about pulling a rabbit out of a hat. You hit the jackpot on this one. One of my favorites. Unfortunately, because it evokes so many cultural references of the time, modern audiences may not pick on all its charms which will keep it from being a perennial song like Patsy’s “Crazy”.
You know it is amusing to hear and react to these classic country songs, that have become staples for most of us. You know the song is old(er) when she mentions Raquel Welch Hope you enjoyed yourself with your surrogate daughter in NYC last night
@jcat899 Any mention of Raquel Welch absolutely gets a reaction!! As for my girls, thank you--I am always a happy man when spending time with them and seeing the beautiful, caring women they've become.
Lorretta's my girl. This song reminds me of my Mama and yes shes pregnant. My oldest sister was 20 when my baby sister was born. The first 3 were born in less than 3 years. Lol. down here a bunch of us still say warsh.
Great request and great reaction by the creator of this channel. Good stuff Don.
This is a good song. Some really good snippets of life back then. Thanks for this song reaction. Cheers! ✌️
She had twins in real life and they had a dou for a short time called the lynns
You need to listen to her song "The Pill" next!
That was my 1st comment. Lol
@toriamansfield2999 I did that one about four years ago, and you are spot on--it was great!
@RockN2Country I think I knew that but fun fact, in her concerts she would sing these two songs together like in a Medley sort of way. Start out with one's on the way then lead in with the pill. She used to say, this is the song I should've found first. Lol
❤
Please react to the Christmas song by Willie Nelson, Pretty Paper.
9.1
In real life she did have twins, Patsy and Peggy.
Shell wrote or cowrote with lorretta
Can you please react to Billy Ray Cyrus song called Should've Been Me please. Thank you Don
You only missed Liz Taylor
