- John Deere has made many cool lawn mowers over the years in the ZTrak series, but this one is a favorite of ours. It is the 3rd generation of the diesel zero turn mowers by John Deere in 2019, called the Z994R. 25hp zero turn diesel John Deere mower with the known and powerful 7 Iron deck and other great features along with the new comfort glide seating. This is truly a strong, powerful yet lighter frame diesel zero turn on the market. We also compared it in this video to the first and second generation 997, Z997 and Z997R which the big brother to this machine.

What would you recommend for a residential zero turn mower in the 42-44" range?
Dan I know they are pricey but the 7 iron decks hold up so much better so for me 48Inch 720e be my choice if had to go smaller=)

Wonder how you like the Z994R after a few years???
We love them, they are fast, holding up great with no issues and I love the diesel engine on the farm
@@RMSpeltzFarm Thanks ! I have a JD 2520 compact tractor and a Z track 929M which has been OK less some intermittent issues with the controller. I have had the 2520 for ~ a decade and the engine is amazing; it's the Yanmar 3-cyl ~24HP.. It would be nice to only deal with one fuel source. I'm thinking about selling the 920 and getting a 994. Again Thanks
We agree having to use the farms diesel on site much easier then driving cans back and forth to station lol
