Just purchased a 950M with a Kawasaki FX850V 27hp engine, and I opted for a 54” Mulch-on Demand deck as I’ve found that the 54” deck maneuvers much better around flower beds. I opted for the 27hp engine for the strong power it provides in damp grass. I also opted for the deluxe suspension seat for comfort. So far this has been a great mower. In the future I’ll update any problems that occur. My previous John Deere mower was a EZ Trac Z445 Homeowner mower with a Kawasaki 25HP engine, it lasted to 1280 hrs. until it brunt a intake valve, other than the valve problem John Deere mowers are bulletproof in my opinion. I forgot to mention the EZ Trac Z445 was a 2008 model, so not bad for longevity.
Wow!.... The benefits of THIS video cannot possibly be overstated. Extremely thorough! I’ve watched dozens of other vids, but the combination of mow footage, walkarounds, up-close, and overall production editing/content is stellar! JD should pump your vids on their main website. No joke. 👍
I have a 830A 2008 unit, with the 27 Hp Kaw 1100 hrs on it, and still runs like a champ. I am keeping this one, and I would like to buy a 950, or 960 unit. Excellent video thanks!
Have the Z Track 950 M love the mower does a great job and yes I only buy what's made in the USA 🇺🇸 un like Gravely which is made in China assembled in the USA .
You should take a look at the Z994....it's the little brother to the Z997, has a smaller 3 cyl liquid cooled Yanmar diesel that requires no DPF or after treatment, and shares many components with the Z900 gas models. Basically, from the operator seat forward, it's a Z9 gas. The rear frame section is a new design to accommodate the transverse mounted diesel, and radiator.
Had my 930m for 3 seasons now. Have about 300 hours on it. My biggest complaint is the cheap plastic belt guards and the ring clips that hold them on. These decks get loaded with grass in the belt/pulley system and it's very hard to clean that out. Other than that it's been rock solid.
I currently have a Z530R and I’ve got a 920M, 54” with full suspension seat. It’s a little overkill for my use but parts of my yard are on the rough side and I want transaxles that are serviceable. I looked at the 740R with suspension seat and tweels standard but it’s only $600 less than the 920M so I’m just going for the 920M. I mow every 4-7 days only when it’s dry so I think the 23.5 hp Kawasaki will be plenty. My dealer is giving me a great deal on my trade and quoted the 920M at $10,900. That’s about $1500 off msrp when you add the options. Does that sound high?
Almost similar to the spartan srt... only difference is the logo sign but pretty much the same I have test drove a spartan it was ok I have not test drove this one yet heard lots of good reviews on these mower I am a huge fan of john deere... my top favorite mowers are john deere, grasshopper, dixie chopper
I love JD l have 3 636m quick Trac 920m and a 960m ztrac nothing cuts Florida turf better nice video if it's not 💚 green and yellow 💛 we don't want it great video 😊
USA made is a HUGE deal for me. What inch cut is yours? I would want the suspension seat but think I would pass on the mulch on demand. What was the out the door price on yours if you don't mind?
Z930M with 60" MOD deck and Suspension seat was $10,150 plus tax. I believe they have a $500 rebate now. Rebates are removed already in the price above.
@@WorkshopAddict my craftsman tractor style is on it's last leg. With all the cheap zero turns out there I'm thinking I'd be ahead to spend a little extra on one of these. Your reviews are always top notch. Keep up the great work!
@@jeffarnold1983 If you're just going to be using it for mowing your own yard, take a look at the Z700 series. They're designed and built in the same factory as the Z900 (John Deere Turf Care in Fuquay Varina, NC), cost less than the Z9's, but have same outstanding cut quality. The main market segment is for the large property owner who wants / needs more than a residential mower, but doesn't necessarily want to pay for a full commercial mower like the Z900 series.
@@WorkshopAddict Z930R with MOD, Suspension seat, and Tweels for $12,750 last summer. The R has comfort and convenience package, which includes switches in each control handle. One raises deck hydraulically and the other kills the PTO. I've since added the JD light kit, JD padded armrests, JD floor mat, and tweels up front.
Mine is a 2021 z930m with deluxe suspension seat and 48” mod deck. I was out the door at $11k with taxes. Bought last year but it was made a few days before 2022 so it’s effectively a 2022 model year. Mine had $2k in discounts.
I like my MOD deck, but you have to keep it clean. If it is not clean it will leave a trail on the right hand side. Even so, I would not trade it for anything else.
Not the frame but the cast components are. The cast front forks and the cast brace under the frame and deck arms. The bearings are also China. That’s all I can remember seeing China on my z930m.

How do you like the MOD? I’m looking at your exact unit,

Exmark/Toro 5yr warranty and suspension seat standard. I think deere could afford to match that a $600 upgrade for a seat that should come standard.

Hi, very good video!
How to install or remove a cutting deck from John Deere Z930A ?
Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers
Ray
Love my Z950M 72". will never go back to Gravely

We keep up on ours by blowing it out and have not had an issue, but I agree, there are better ways to cover those and make the accessible
I took mine off from day one. Blow it off after use and don't have any issues and easy to get at

Amazing mower. Just had one delivered absolutely love it
Last I seen there assembly in usa what parts are made in usa?
Exmark has been good to me for 300 h but the kidney jarring suspension is getting old. These johnnys look good!
Exmark now has toros suspension system. I think it’s called my ride. The whole operator platform is on springs.
We reviewed the MyRide on the Toro Titan and it is nice. It makes working on the machine harder since you cannot access anything under the platform.
any update on your opinion of the MOD deck?

How about the z955m. I can't find any videos on them.
Quit making the Efi models In 2020 i think
Scag is also USA made
They are on my list to try!
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe some of the frames on these commercial zero turns by John Deere are made in China.

I want trade my front tires out for air filled to rough riding
I'm not sure of name, z glide replaces the forks, and uses torsion suspension.
M.o.d decks clog up bad .. i think deere is stopping production on them next year
👍🏻👍🏻
