- I LOVE this little basket! Maybe because I'm not much of a sewer and... I MADE THIS!!! Very exciting for me but... it should stand as a testament to the fact this isn't as hard to make as I thought it would. The biggest challenges I faced were all around not really knowing how to use the sewing machine! (yep... kept getting an error message I couldn't figure out until I realized it was telling me to put the pressure foot down. Sheesh!) I love the idea of taking old pieces of cloth and making them into something beautiful but... even more so... what about creating a memory basket? Old shirts of a loved one perhaps? Shirts your children have grown out of that can't be passed on but can be used rather than tossed?

Nicole.... I was definitely NOT confident going into this one! And as for patience... it actually made up a lot faster than I thought it would! In fact... in one afternoon!

Maybe think of making your stitches wider! This tiny zig-zag is not necessary and creating missed areas!😊

Huh... not a clue! I got them precut as scraps from someone that had been making a quilt. (actually... not even sure I understand what direction that would be if I had been cutting them!!) For this... I'm not sure it's critical... but you tell me!!
