Thanks for watching us create these colorful rope bowl baskets! If you are curious, we use the Hyper Tough diamond braided cotton clothesline that you can find at Walmart. It has a poly core which helps with the stiffness. The size we use is 3/16", and it comes in 100ft rolls.
Sara and Amy, you are so entertaining but also provide such good information. Love your rope bowls! I love the coffee shade (and the drink itself!). Thanks for the video!
Thank you! This is the best fabric basket video I’ve watched! I just looked at all of the videos you’ve made and I must say I’m very excited to watch them! You’re so talented!
Great video. I have played with all sorts of dyes. But never thought about allow the cotton to draw up the colors. I just found your show. I enjoyed watching you two
We actually did try that with the coasters. It wasn't the winner because the color ended up traveling too far. There is definitely room for more testing! Thanks for stopping by!
We didn't try that with a basket yet, but we did try it with the coaster. The dye traveled too far too fast and that's why it wasn't a winner in our opinion. We need more testing! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Mary! Thanks for stopping by! We have actually had Mom on a few times making her rope bowls for us. There isn't a specific tutorial, but here she does go a bit more in depth with the process and tips. ua-cam.com/video/4WDUr5SuIAc/v-deo.html
Hi there! We have never rinsed the bowls, just let them dry. So far there hasn't been any issue with dye transfer on our surfaces. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you, Nancy! The size we use is 3/16", and it comes in 100ft rolls. Mom just bought some comparable rope in different diameter sizes that she found on the Home Depot website, so I'm excited to see how those turn out. We will let you know!

We didn't rinse these because we didn't want the blue to bleed. Once it was completely dry we haven't had any issue with transferring the color onto our hands. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for the possibilities. The two of you are very fun to watch.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for stopping by! Have fun trying it out!
Hi. I enjoyed your video. I used food coloring to dye my rope. I plan to experiment more.
Food coloring is a great idea! Thanks for watching! ❤
I now have renewed inspiration. Thank you both.
So glad you stopped by! Enjoy crafting!
Hi, this is fun, I never thought about die before. The salt will help set the colors.
Thanks, Violet! We love using dye in projects. It's just so satisfying. Thanks for the tip!
Loved your video. I just started making rope bowls and you gave definitely inspired me to get some dye❤
That's wonderful! Thanks for watching, and enjoy your project!
love this
Thank you!
I wonder if the rope bowl was moistened if it would draw the dye upward more easily.
That's a good idea! We will have to give it a try. Thanks for watching!
Love those leather tags also. Thanks for the tips
You are welcome, so glad you like them!
Nice Job!
Thank you so much!
1st time seeing your channel. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.
Thank you!
Nice!!
Thank you!
Did you try any where you got them wet with water first? Maybe you would have gotten more of an ombre effect if they were wet first

Did you try using the Rit Dyemore which will also dye the polyester thread?
We have never worked with it, but that's a great idea. Thank you!
Did you try a fade with an all wet basket, or partial wet?

Love your video! When you save your die in a jar you said to heat it back up! Do you heat it to a boil again or just so that it is hot? Thank you!!
Thank you!! I heat it back up to almost boiling. That has always worked well for me.
@@highwaythirty1810 thank you
Do you have a video of how to make your rope bowls.😊

Thank youu 🙏🌹🌹
You’re welcome 😊
I think the coffee bowl looks more organic, like pottery.
Which is lovely
Thank you, Sonja! It smells good, too. 😉
I thought the same thing, very nice
Do you rinse the bowls once dyed or do you just let it dry and call it done? If you just let it dry, will the dye transfer to table or shelf?
Hi there! We have never rinsed the bowls, just let them dry. So far there hasn't been any issue with dye transfer on our surfaces. Thanks for stopping by!
Did you rinse the dye after
Hi! On these baskets we did not rise, just let them dry. Thanks for stopping by!
What rope do you use. Your bowls are so nice and stiff.

Do you have to rinse them off after you die them? My hands are turning blue when I touch mine. Thanks for your help. Tina

Bonjour 💋💋🌹🌹
Que tinta usa para tingir
We have used the bottles of Rit Dye for all of our rope creations so far. Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you don't plan to cook/bake in the containers you used with dye. Once you use a container for dye it should never go back in the kitchen.
