This guy is insane with his attention to detail for sure….. he seems pretty young where did he get all his knowledge who was a mentor for him. The cobra at the end clean clean clean
He actually made a channel and made a video of his background
@@wyattyeary8050 what’s his channel?
@@DanDrivesYT Modular Head Shop
@@wyattyeary8050 cool thanks I’ll,have to find that video.
Build, race, break.. repeat its the mustang lifestyle
It's the racing lifestyle.
@@a29s12 💯
😆
@@a29s12 cleetus speaks well enough to that.
Jordan for president. Dude is so precise and detail oriented
Love seeing Jordan working his magic. That dude knows his stuff
Love the tear down videos, shame it also tears down the wallet at the same time. Hope it comes back with minimal issues in further analysis. Best of luck with everything.
This guy is so knowledgeable. Learn so much especially that I own a 2013 Shelby gt500
Good luck with the build man, it never ends.
I'm 99% sure your issue came from the bolt backing out of your intercooler, therefore allowing super hot air to bypass the intercooler and go directly into that cylinder making it detonate and cause all that damage. The bolt falling out of the intercooler lines up exactly with that cylinder that lifted the head/torched itself. You'd have an instant 250-350* or higher "depending on how hard you're spinning the blower" Charge air temp going directly into that cylinder. The charge air temp sensor is on the opposite side and might not have been able to see the temp increase as the other side of cylinders, primarily that rear one, was ingesting most of that hot air. Being on a good fuel and having a good AFR saved your other cylinders. But your AFR could be on point and you still can't pull enough timing quickly enough to solve the instant rise in charge air temp when the intercooler seal let go right above that rear cylinder
Kinda crazy I built mine with you guys on your build but I only did my short block I did the 5.4 .020over version recipe of yours at same time, and I lifted my head too racing and beating a Suzuki after beat a hellcat a redeye a ProCharged S550 and C7 Z06 all same day and the bike was the last race on my way home with temps too hot! And never had her Dyno tuned either. So my build begins again too. Good luck
This an amazing testament to these engines and this guys engine building skills and obviously a tuner who knew his stuff!
Sounds like that engine has held up well Andrew. Unfortunately, there will always come a time. I love watching Jordan work & he cracks me up. Good luck 🍻
I feel your pain but I am almost glad the motor broke because the tear down and Jordan's analysis is awesome. Great video!!
I'm really surprised you put this ain't the end of me into the montages lol. Such a good song
Wow! Jordon is on top of his game. Very Very Knowledgeable.
So cool to see how simple but technical Jordan’s explanations are.
Hard to believe it's been two years. Time flies. Not a cheap car to own. Good luck with the rebuild.
Wow...you somehow kept my attention for 35 minutes straight! Your the first!!! Lol
Love these videos, original series inspired me to do my own build. Would love to see more videos of you guys going over fixing this.
mad respect to Jordan, young dude with awesome skills.
Good evening. In my opinion. I think it definitely leaned out and melted the tip of the spark plug and that's what bounded around on top of the piston. Just a theory. Still looks good 👍. Hell of an engine builder
that makes a lot more sense, a bolt would have caused a lot more carnage and probably wouldnt have gotten past the valves without mutilating them
Good morning. Correct. He wasn't missing a bolt when taking it apart.
On my Diamond pistons I had 3 pistons with the rings pinched, and 3 with pitting and like a hammered effect on the exhaust valve cut outs. All from detonation from wrong Tune.
I think perhaps tiny bits of the steel head gasket is what got inside when it failed. I thought the rear main bearing took the most abuse because it is supporting the hp from all 8 cylinders because the hp is put throught the flange and then the trans.
Fl2k El Chapo was kicking butt and taking names! It was eating Lambo's ,Gtr's, corvettes up! Ford's vs everything!👍🏻💪🏻💯😎
I feel so bad for you man, this car has given you nothing but issues
i would love a sit down interview of you getting into Jordans mind. From childhood to his education to career and a teline by age. When he built it i was blown away by his knowledge and attention to detail. now seeing him disassemble his work is like wow. i forgot how old is he?
Jordan is a smart cat
I love these videos! Looking forward to seeing El Chapo up and running!!
Looks like you had a couple things happen at about the same exact time. That's pretty wild.
I would still double key my crank .. but that’s just me
And I would take the iron 5.4 iron over the 5.8 anyway it’s been proven to make power reliably
The mod motors supposedly the aluminum blocks are the strongest, the aluminum ford GT 5.4 is supposedly the strongest tall deck block from what I've heard.
@@Prestiged_peck I thought that as well until read an article by JOHN MIHOVITZ
Google “misconception about mod motors “ you will find a article by John who is the record holder it’s got some pretty interesting info …. TEKSKID aluminum is the strongest block in the modular family ; I believe those come from the 98-01 cobra motors
@@mach183 yeah the teksid block actually came reliably from 96-01, and were scattered in after that, as well as 92-98 on the Lincoln mark 8 I've got one of those blocks and I'm gonna actually get it done up by accufab.
@@Prestiged_peck accufab is the shit !!!
@@mach183 yep, and I was talking of the tall deck 5.4/5.8 blocks I could've sworn he said the AL 5.4 from the supercar is the toughest block.
Of corse it’s done. It backfired and you stayed in it. It was cutting out and you stayed in it. What you Expect. Lol
Backfire is 100% normal during no lift shifts. “Cutting out” or hesitation on the street is traction control working
That dude could stop Russia with his brain!
Considering the work that engine has done it looks very good.
Geter fixed so I can keep living it through you. I can't afford to do it to mine.
shocker. 1200+ hp, surprised there would be wear lol Assuming its safe to say no matter as many oil changes the amount of force on the bearings its just to much and would require replacement of them. How many miles with this much power?
How feasible would it be to repair the deck and head and put it back together as-is with new bearings, chains, etc.
Andrew... What's your plans/schedule for Mustang Week 2022 (possible info video) 🤷🏼♂️
Bro great video. Jordan is awesome!
Nice glad u can save it
Time for some twin loving. Or just one big single.
I like the music...
Laughing my balls off watching this video. Jordan doing work, asking questions.
Should change from Modular Head Shop to Doctor Modular Shop.
I disagree. Look at the tune and the fuel being run. Some of the other plugs showed too much timing imo.
do you think that would have caused engine failure down the road?
@@drfaticus Too much timing and not enough fuel would do it.
@@Tim99GT Thanks for the info!!
My uncle just got done building a 351w and first start one of the rods disappeared and fucked the cylinder. He had the same problem a bolt had got knocked into the intake😂 it ran for five seconds then boom. Your lucky that didn’t happen, you got off lucky from that.
Did the broken tip of the Spark plug cause it ?
I would love a mod motor but i know nothing about them and iv herd they are very expensive
Flame cutting is no bueno…… tough break
Egt in each cylinder would of been helpful in diagnosis.
Cyclinder #4? Head cooling modification done? Looks like detention to me.
Jordan Built a great motor
Money shift!
Definitely not it was in 4th
Bring it back better this time
Goood. Vid . But the music was a bit much .
Possible lean condition due to water leaking into that cylinder
What oil are you running?
Any news on the rebuild yet ?
Comp cams = no eta
@@MustangLifestyleTV 10-4. I am as impatient as you lol. Ready to see that animal back on the road.
Is it true all 07-14 gt500 use the 05-06 Ford gt heads?
yes
@@MustangLifestyleTV thanks!, by any chance do you know if the 11-12 crankshaft is the same as the 07-10 crank?
Very interesting👍
This is exactly the reason not to fuck with mod motor garbage. Now you got a expensive paper weight
Build Back Better 🤣 make it an all electric Shelby!
The perils of racing. I guess if you can afford it that’s ok.
Bruh :( this video comes up to me just today I blew my motor as well
What tires are running at the track ?
ET Street R radial
@@MustangLifestyleTV The 275/60's ?
Build the motor for 2000whp and run it at 1400whp
I said it couple months ago it would blow
Running the piss out of it on the freeway
I didn’t build It to drive it to the grocery store
@@MustangLifestyleTV well if you did you wouldn’t have a garage ornament
What’s the point? I don’t build cars to go to car shows and stare. I build them to enjoy them. Not sure what kind of content you would be enjoying if that were the case.
@@MustangLifestyleTV just giving you crap
Why would you build a car like this to that level of performance and just cruise it around and not beat on it? If that was the case you'd just throw a stock motor in it that will handle cruising around just fine lol.
That buick was hauling ass
Par for the course for this guy Lol lucky this poor motor made it this far and it’s all do to this machinist building this motor 100%
👀👀👀
Hey Zander!👍🏾🇯🇲
Just saying it's a ford thing.
