I don’t know why UA-camrs push Arc that much - I mean I tried it and it was just another browser. The same resource usage as Chrome minus all my extensions so I didn’t really see the need.
here is a hot take step 1: Delete windows and install arch linux (with hyperland ) or ubuntu ("only install ubuntu if you like using your mouse a lot")
It's chromium-based and my school hasn't blocked it yet (like they did with MS Edge and Edge Channels and Firefox Opera Brave etc) so I install it on school computers and install a VPN extension to pirate Adventure Time in class lol
Arc feels at least 10 years more modern than any other alternative, it uses native UI libraries so it feels more like a part of Windows 11 than any other alternative, it also supports extensions from chrime
I have a few issues with videos about development on Windows: - They often don’t discuss the DX (Developer Experience) aspects. - They overlook resource usage. - I don’t understand the frequent recommendation to use WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) for development on Windows. It can consume excessive amounts of RAM and CPU in many cases. It’s often simpler to use Linux directly. - Unless you’re a .NET developer, Windows can be quite limiting. As a power user, I find Windows less effective for development. - I’ve tried a similar setup on Windows with a few containers, WSL for development (even though I need to deploy on Linux), and multiple browser tabs. It used up all 24 GB of RAM (around 80%). - On Linux, the same setup only used about 10 GB of RAM, and the device ran cooler compared to Windows. - I don’t dislike Windows-it has its benefits-but it can be problematic for development purposes. - The same issues apply to macOS if you’re heavily using Docker or Kubernetes.
dx is much better. window management, alt tab, show desktop button, close window button on the top right... no need i count more. oh and wait the applications actually close when you press X
the arc windows app isnt built properly, they made arc on swift and basically tried to port it over to windows. Best just dont use. Use edge or firefox.
Hello nice and cool communty, i didnt saw the video at all bc i hate with all myself windows. I use it for gaming in my main desktop and I double booted my laptop with tiny11 and linux distro (currently kali but I wanna change it) Im currently studying in italian school and this year we will do php and database with Microsoft Access and xampp so I surely have to keep a windows istance for Microsoft Access. When Im out of school i will continue to study by myself java(that I already know) and AWS. I actively used linux env for 2 years and its awsome, I have tryied and preferred mint bc is very cool but I usually install a lot of varius distros for know if the experience is better or worst than mint (that I love). After this all shit, can someone recomment me a distro/the way for my role? So now Php, M. Access(important), and for the future Java and Aws. ❤
U are actually lucky to buy this version of XPS, the snapdragon one. Because all the others used to be known on the internet as eXtra Piece of Shit!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
to make it a ultimate programming machine; step one) install archlinux; although yes, its complicated. Arch has no bloat at all and its customizable. step two) never use windows again; yes, yes we heard you windows fanboys, but the truth is.. windows is spying on you, has a lot of bloat, uses a ton of system resources, HECK you pay for it! and the os spies on you!!!! unbelievable..😢
Arc on Windows kinda sucks right now. No Easles, Boosts, Notes etc. Download animation of Mac is soooooooo good. Shit on Windows. Heck, even the Settings Page has nothing much to it. I don't think we can change the time period for Archiving Tabs etc. also. But, they are a small company. Can't complain too much.
bro was devastated when cyberpunk was installed on the machine.

Yes, would love a review.
Watching this on my XPS 13 Plus.
I absolutely love this thing.
The best looking laptop I've ever seen.
Just breathtaking.

Step 1: Install Linux and don't touch windows again.
just bought one and installed arch
I am liking windows i mean with 32gb ram any intel after and 13th gen windows plus wsl is best experience you can get

Wow this is so cool!

I advice you use edge in place of arc as its generally just faster on windows compared to arc. Also flow launchers has plugins

i just like it, not had any performance issues and like how it works
"BRAVE" is faster than - "EDGE". Arc is not any slow but the animation and UX is quite bore compare to mac that they more focus.
@@Basimpixeltoonz i disagree. Edge >>>

😂
lmao
Welp I agree
I use windows solely for CAD other than that, I use linux all the time.
Working is just either CAD or Office for me.
I can say Linux is so much better than Windows for programming . Not even close

Have you ever tried linux? It's great for development!
damn the best oneeee
I love your wallpaper. Where can I find it?
its in his description bro.
i set up my windows laptop for programming by installing linux straight over the top of the windows 11 it came with
MSYS2 + Native Node, Git, etc... for me, I only use WSL for docker and nothing else. Native binaries are far more faster than WSL for me.
Hi, how can I make Arc on Windows look like yours? The black theme is amazing, I tried but mine looks bad.
Which theme extension you are using for vs code in this video?
Why not just use Linux if you're a developer using WSL and you want productivity/efficiency?
You forgot to drop the link to ur vscode theme😭😭
Unfortunately I have to use Visual Studio for college. It isn't available anymore for MacOS and Linux so I must use Windows :(
U can dual boot Linux and windows
now you can admit that windows is just better
I was today years old when I realised homebrew is also available for linux
Better off with arch than win 11
At this point, you should just use Linux…
What laptop is this ??
i like how look the keyboard is like 2009 laptops
Please no Arc Browser also run CTT's winutils to debloat your Windows
just run ubuntu natively!!!
what computer is this?
Would be sick to see you rice linux. Bet you could come up with a cool looking desktop.
if you install something, for example node, in Wsl will it be accessible throughout the system or just in the Linux “VM”?
WSL only
I have a question, What is the laptop, the name? What is the name?
Dell xps 14
Somehow I can't get homebrew to install on wsl
I love how companies copy each other 🤣

A laptop for programming?
1. Tear down Windows, install distributions based on the linux kernel.
2. You tell everyone you have linux, btw
How'd you get the windows taskbar on the right side?
It's hard to know what you're doing with that angle of camera. Words are not always helpful. It would've been good to see the laptop screen instead.
appreciate the feedback, was there a specific section you're talking about?
Start menu customiser section.
