Fun fact, if your computer breaks, you just need the hard-drive. You can take it out, super easy, plug it into a 10.00 case, and plug it up to your next pc. All your precious data is right there. It's not that common that the hard-drive breaks. It happens, but odds are good that you can salvage the data.

Once we diagnose the problem, we’ll call and give you what the total will be, and you can decide whether or not it’s worth it. The $85 is for our time and effort diagnosing the issue.”

Why do people think because the harddrive is bad the rest of the computer is dead? The motherboard, memory, video card are all still fine. Just put in a new harddrive! It's amazing how many perfectly good computers are thrown away when it's just one piece that needs to be replaced. Yes it's a laptop but most can still have their harddrives replaced.

I did just that, I put ALL my photos from the last 15 years on an external hard drive which was not even 2 years old, and it suddenly stopped working, so I lost everything...
$2500 LOL GREEDY PLAINTIFFS.....not worth $100!
Never heard her say your welcome after a verdict! 😂
I thought the same thing. That was the first time I ever heard her reply.
She said let’s laugh about the counter claim 😂😂😂
Fun fact, if your computer breaks, you just need the hard-drive. You can take it out, super easy, plug it into a 10.00 case, and plug it up to your next pc. All your precious data is right there. It's not that common that the hard-drive breaks. It happens, but odds are good that you can salvage the data.
Not if the laptop was dropped while it was turned on. IT will damage the drive and the data for the most part might not be easy to recover.
@@scamchan not always the case. I'm a clutz in dropped quite a few laptops and harvested the hard drives each time. You definitely can ruin them with a drop. That's just not been the case with every one of mine.
@@chriscode6431 I won't tell if you don't
I don't know if it takes multiple weeks for recovery.
2:50 So then why is he trying to sue them for unpaid labor if the laptop was unrepairable?
(Not done with episode yet)
That was my first thought!
Because just like a plumber or many other tradies, you have to pay for time and effort even if they can’t repair it. My local computer repair place always, ALWAYS says “It’s $85 if we take it, and that’s ours whether we can fix it or not. Once we diagnose the problem, we’ll call and give you what the total will be, and you can decide whether or not it’s worth it. The $85 is for our time and effort diagnosing the issue.”
Computer was so important that she just leaves it there. Full ofit
I noticed the guy with the Dragon Ball hair style in a lot of episodes. He’s often sitting in the same spot. Maybe he’s charging up to Super Saiyan mode.
$225 ?! That’s a steal lol
Is it? Because it broke and it was irreparable after only a year of use. I spent around 2k on my laptop back in 2014 and it’s still running decently
Only $50?? Geez. Hardly the punishment for the defendant who was careless in handling their laptop.
I love when old people talk about computers and technology 🤣
Thousands of dollars just to retrieve pictures. Good luck with that!
As soon as I heard 200.00 laptop I was like they're getting 100.00 back. 2500 😆
FACT 1000%
I so disagree with this decision ... remember to stay safe and stay blessed
I wonder if the mother knows she is going to pay a fortune to recover photos of the food her daughter eats and thousands of selfies in front of the mirror... ha ha ha
$200 sounds like a Black Friday deal and they are usually the bare bones.
Or a chrome book. I bought my chrome book with geek squad protection for $315
$50 is a joke I didn’t like the belittlement of this case…
I don't understand...if the problem was the hard drive why would they scrap the rest of the computer?
Defendant is a liar.
The mother and daughter didn't make up that detailed chain of events when they visited him multiple times looking for the computer.
Judge was ridiculous to let his obvious lie slide.
The computer had data of sentimental value. I don't agree with this at all.
The Lady should have backed up their data....PERIOD!!!
@@SilverSergeant Shut up old person.
There is nothing unethical about not backing up data. There is absolutely something unethical with what the shop did. It is right versus wrong, not your arbitrary opinion about what someone "should" have done.
Dang plaintiff definitely looks po'd...
How did the defendant mess this up with such a present customer
I am so tired of him asking questions!!!!!
A lot of people seem to think that sentimental value, means financial value.
The defendant was clearly in the wrong here. But aside from that, Judge Milian was completely off when chastising the plaintiffs daughter about not having a backup drive for her pics. Women think they can get away with whatever with respect to how they talk to others.
That’s that high tone privilege
Truth!
Let me guess. You are one of those dudes who criticizes EVERYTHING women do, but when it comes to men and their evil acts you are conveniently quiet and nowhere to be found.
@@Childfree334 I stand for right whether it’s black or white- male or female- young or old - rich or poor - famous or unknown -- right is right wrong is wrong that how I live my life how about u
I’m so tired of Doug and his little laugh when he thinks he’s being witty. The day is coming when he’s gonna test the wrong one.
This is why you NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a rebuilt computer. If you can always buy new and get the warranty.
Some of her decisions seem discriminatory
I agree.
How ?
Nice to see Harvey back on the scene!
More sophisticated equipment - like a $10 hard drive enclosure. Plug it into your computer's USB - get your photos.
What would stop people from Bringing a computer in than sueing for lost info ? Ridiculous suit
It's amazing that certain people sue for 50 times what's something's actually worth
It's not hard to recover data from a hard drive, I do it all the time
That seems a bit sketch not to give quotes until they are already into it unless they do a free estimate and it the customer thinks it’s too expensive they put it back together so it’s how it came in
That’s a lovely mother and daughter ❤️👏🏾🙏🏾
Situations like this are why I use the cloud
Judge pissed me off with this one.
How do they know that's HER hard drive?
I can't see how it is justice that he should pay 50 dollars. Why? He had just tried to help them. Why wasn't he compensated for his time?
The judge could have done better than that🙄
If it's a standard hard drive then it can be plugged into any functioning system and the pictures recovered. My camcorder that my wife bought me 10 years ago got some corrosion it it and would not turn on. It had many videos that were priceless to me stored on the internal memory which is on the hard drive. I bought a used camera the exact same model off eBay for just a few bucks, switched in the hard drive with the broke camera and voila, all my pictures are now safely loaded onto a storage drive.
He lost their damn laptop. Judge should've kicked them $150
I’m terrible at backing up but I know if I don’t it’s my fault. I now try to put on a flash drive but if I didn’t it’s my fault
50 bucks!? That’s bull crap
