I love all of your videos Linda, but, this was the one that made my heart sing. I stepped back in time for 13 minutes, to a time and place that always makes me want more! Thank you Linda, seeing this reminded me of why I love all the passed down and collected antiques around me. So much history and joy. May we all remember where we came from.
Oh, such wonderful memories from my childhood you conjured up with this visit to Sturbridge. They used to give children rings made from a nail at the village smith's. Thank you so much for this tour.
Oh Linda!! You touched my heart! Mum and I would go to Sturbridge Village in the Fall and have lunch at the Public House. We are Kindred Spirits . Our hearts celebrating our new England Ancestry. Thank you so very much. I need to go back to Sturbridge Village. xoxooxoJanet
I always thought I would work there in my older years. I still have a tea cup I bought when on a 6th grade field trip. Thanks for showing the murals and stenciling. I've never seen the village lit at night so this was magical for me.
Such a beautiful trip! It is amazing to realize the very basic yet innovative living of our ancestors hundreds of years ago. What they had to do to survive! They persevered through many a cold New England winter! This definitely put me in the holiday spirit. Thank you, Linda!
Life must have been hard in the extreme; sadly the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction where machines do everything for you, all the way to telling Siri to see who's at the front door, as the zoomba vacuums the floors. I don't have either, but I DO watch Linda on youtube, lol
I reveled in every second of this video. I love anything antique. If I could afford it, everything I own would be an antique. I went to LSU's Rural Life Museum Christmas this past Sunday. Not as elaborate as Sturbridge, but loved seeing all the old buildings, antiques, and historical cooking and crafting demonstrations.
I have two girls and every summer both girls spent a week in the village at summer camp. We did it until they were too old to go. Then my daughter got married and had two children. They spent every summer at camp for as long as they could go. After that we would visit every summer and ever winter. All of your local viewers should go at least once to experience the beauty and history of the village. Especially at Christmas time. 🎄
Thank you Linda, enjoyed seeing Old Sturbridge Village, took our kids there a long time ago, now that my husband passed I don't get out too much anymore.
Thank you Linda! Sturbridge village was wonderful to see at Christmas. Seeing the historic houses getting ready for Christmas doing baking and hand work. Never knew how mulled cider was made and now I do. I was there long ago in the summer and it was wonderful too. The barn had wonderful items in it. I love the Buffalo bedding and in one of my favorite colors. I’m hoping you have a wonderful week ahead! See you again soon😊
Great video! Friendly observation on the video at 8:52 it reads yarns died with natural items. I believe it should read yarns dyed with natural items. Also at the end ... thanks for joing me should read thanks for joining me. ❤
Such a lovely video, New England really does lend itself to Christmas.. step back to a more gentle time! The opening of Sugarwood in the snow was delightful to see, thanks for sharing Linda. 🎄🎄☃️
It’s been so many years since I first toured Sturbridge Village. I have to say I preferred it to Williamsburg. I love the simplicity of Sturbridge. Williamsburg is lovely but just that much more opulent. Thanks for a chance to see it again. Please consider taking us back when things are in bloom❤️
Thank you for taking me back for a visit! I lived in Sturbridge for 26 years and raised my sons there. OSV was our stomping grounds. Many a walk through the village and the buildings. On snow days we would go over and catch a horse drawn sleight ride and of course stop at the bake shop. Really homesick and would like to move back but I doubt that will happen any time soon.
Just stepped thru time with you!!! Admiring what is special to you and personally giving a smile of appreciation to the blacksmiths and craftsmen and women who continue to inspire us today. 🌹🌹🌹
My mother-in-law was a school teacher and had the honor of meeting Tasha Tudor, one of her favorite children’s (and adults) writers. This was such an interesting video. So glad you shared it Linda, thank you. From South Carolina with love.
What a treat! I had to laugh because just like you, I am always the one talking to the costumed interpreters and asking questions. This brought back memories of spending time in Colonial Williamsburg during December a few years ago. It was magical! (Williamsburg is my happy place!) I can’t wait to see you try mulled cider. 😊
This video was wonderful to watch. There’s nothing like a historical village at Christmas time. Here in Michigan we have the Henry Ford Greenfield Village where he bought historical buildings all across the country and placed them there. I have visited there since a child and still enjoy it every year. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I enjoyed my trip with you as always you never disappoint older times then is better no rushing around it’s calming thank you for another great trip from canada
What a beautiful video! My friend Kathy from the Cape told me she got to meet you that evening ~ she was thrilled at how warm & friendly you were❤. I really have to get to Sturbridge village soon- I think my last visit was 20 years ago with my children! Thank you for this Tuesday treat!
Another great video! I too love visiting those villages of times gone by; there is such a relaxed feeling about them. If you ever visit Michigan you must go to our Henry Ford Greenfield Village in Dearborn. It is probably 4x what you showed today and is a magical place with many houses/homes/history from years past. We have visitors from all of the world how visit this Village. BTW, I love it that you are posting more than one video a week right now!
I've been to Old Sturbridge Village a couple times. Once was many years ago for my sons class field trip. I really love living in New England, we have so much history.
Thank you for the great video It was just what I needed after a hectic morning . I love the white churches with the steeples and all the lovely little village . It is nice to step back in time .❤
I think when I retire out of a nursing career, I would enjoy working in a historic museum. Its going to happen, sooner than later! Thank you for this video to OSV.
Oh, I LOVE this video. I grew up in Massachusetts and though am now in California, will be moving back to the East Coast soon. My parents took me and my sister to Sturbridge village as children and also I went another time as a school visit. I can't wait to visit there again! Thank you for a trip down memory lane!
What a beautiful tour! Reminds me of the Old Bethpage village restoration here on Long Island. Haven't been there in so long. Definitely going before Christmas. Merry Christmas ❤💚
Thank you Linda for one of the most beautiful Christmas videos. This made my day and you are so lucky to be there. One of those first homes you showed looked like the house from the show Little House on the Prairie which is one of my favourite shows. Loved this so much❤️
Oh Linda, what a lovely Christmas gift this video was! Have not visited Sturbridge Village in a few years so thank you for bringing it to me! Loved seeing everything at night, felt like I was right there! I grew up in Northampton & have family in Westboro so I have visited many times. 🌲⭐ 🌲
It's been years since I've been to Sturbridge Village - thank you so much for the Christmas tour! It's been a few years now since moving from Connecticut down the coast to the Mid-Atlantic region and your videos make me feel like I'm still connected to New England. You capture all the best stuff (I'm thinking of the 12-over-12 windows)!
Thank you for taking us on a video field trip. Lol Wow, it's really pretty there with such history. I love it! It always amazes me how they lived in those days without electricity. Have a Great night 🌙.
I love Sturbridge Village-it's one of my favorite places to visit. I've wanted to go to Christmas by Candlelight for the past couple of years, but haven't made it yet-so nice to see it in your video :)
Hi Linda, this warmned my heart this morning! As you were going through the village it reminds me of the history of our beautiful New England,How fun to tour the village and to remember the old ways . And who doesn't love the decor😁😍 Thanks for sharing your trip can't wait to see you do the cider,I bet you can find a pitcher at one of the tique or primitive shopps.🕊️💚🎄
I feel like I’m saying the word magical on every Christmas video that I’ve watched, but it’s true. You have such a way of bringing the observer into the video, and I can almost smell the fires, and the evergreens and hear the bells ring on the horses. Thank you so very much for sharing your lovely outing. 🎄🌟❤️
What a wonderful place to visit! I love colonial decor! That place made me want to hop on a plane for the east coast! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!!! I hope you had fun!
I’ve been at Sturbridge many times when I was a kid. Just recently this visited in the summer and gave our kids the experience. Thank you for sharing, looks lovely during Christmas 😊
I love all your outings, especially the Fall and Christmas ones! The village was so beautiful and Olde World. There’s a special feeling you get when visiting places like that. I hope to visit New England one day. Thank you for sharing this special place of Days Gone By and I I love everything about Tasha Tudor! ❤ 🎄 🧑🎄 🔔 ☕️ ⛄️
Thank you, Linda for another superb video and highlight of New England! I have been to Sturbridge and loved it. I’m hoping to go again. Although born and bred in Western New York, I truly feel a kinship with New England! Thank you again for such a great video!👏🏻👏🏻🥰❤️
So beautiful Linda!! You are sure enjoying the simple things of life. I loved my childhood and little simple things we had at Christmas time. We were a large family but Mom and Dad always managed to get us a special gift and our stocking always full. Now as I am older I realize they made a sacrifice for us to have the simple pleasures in life. Thanks for the tour. Merry Christmas to you and your family from Harbour Main Newfoundland Canada
Linda, thank you for sharing your trip to Sturbridge! All of you videos make me smile and reinforce my belief that there is better place to live and I am blessed to call it home for my entire life.
Thank you so much for taking me on this beautiful and magical tour with you. I so enjoyed it as I was sipping my tea in my Her Ladyship china mug this morning. I love your videos so much. Thank you.

Thank you, Linda, for a glorious video! I so enjoyed seeing Sturbridge Village. I was born 300 years too late.
So different from Sydney!
Thanks for a glimpse into New England history Linda.
My pleasure!
Sturbridge is lovely in every season. I love buying my garden pots at Sturbridge. Knowing they are made there makes them so special.

I went to the Rural Life Museum in a October for the first time. I thought it was wonderful. The museum with the antiques was an amazing collection.
@@cajuncottagefarm2253 yes it is! I have been at least 4 times and it never gets old.
It looks like a wonderful time. We love the heritage buildings and the artisans' processes.
Thanks for this. Even though I have lived in MA for 50 years, I have never made it to Sturbridge!

You are so lucky to live up there. Tx is so boring. I lived in Toronto and Boston for several years.
This Village is so familiar, by name & appearance. I believe I was here many years ago on a family vacation of New England as a child.
I love that jacket at your friend's barn on the manikin

Most likely have New England ancestors! New England seems to draw people back.
Lucky you have some snow!

🤗 Thank you!
Linda, thank you for sharing your trip to Sturbridge! All of you videos make me smile and reinforce my belief that there is better place to live and I am blessed to call it home for my entire life.
Excuse the typos. I meant to say there is no better place to live.
My older daughter still spins, weaves, and knits. She dyes her own yarn from natural sources…
Thank you so much for taking me on this beautiful and magical tour with you. I so enjoyed it as I was sipping my tea in my Her Ladyship china mug this morning. I love your videos so much. Thank you.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

I loved this little tour you took us on! You are truly amazing Linda!
Thank you so much!
In Ohio we have a village set up just like that ..Hale Farm and Village! Very beautiful! You got more than we did!
I love experiences like this, so special. I’m lucky enough to live close to Abraham Lincoln’s New Salem. The village where he lived and worked before moving to Springfield,Illinois. Once a year they do night time candlelight tours. Black smiths, the inn is open, period clothing, what a wonderful way to get a taste of history! Linda, thank you so much for your wonderful vlogs. Thought you might enjoy the fact I taught my son to make brown sugar, after watching you. Now he has all the teachers at his elementary school making it! He’s a teacher not a student..lol
I love all of it! Thank you for sharing!
Oh my what a wonderful video. I wish I lived closer,,,,, how fun.... And not fair to make us wait for your next video to see your beautiful pillows, lol. I can't wait, thank you for taking us with you. ❤

Wonderful!
Your videos are so well done. Your content, editing and background music are always executed with perfection.
The tour was such a kind gesture.
Thank you for the wonderful New England tour. Perfect for the holiday season.
4:10, looks like my house, here in the Belgium Ardennes. But my house has 20" full stone walls. It is from 1870. Such a white fence would really fit to it.
Linda, I very much enjoyed this video! Thank you for taking us along with you! ❤ xo
I always watch your videos before going to bed. They are so relaxing and make drifting off to sleep something to look forward to. Thank you.
I'm happy to hear that!
Beautiful ! Linda just wondering if you have ever toured strawberry banke in Portsmouth New Hampshire ? They have a candlelight stroll every weekend it's just beautiful !
Yes I have, many times, but not this year for the Christmas Walk. I did walk around the village when they were closed last month.
Love the fact that you make efforts to enjoy your life...and bring your adventures to us..always enlightening..❤
Old Sturbridge Village! 😉
Thank you for sharing your trip.
My pleasure!
I love your home and your videos and always give a thumbs up! I just felt compelled to comment on this one that the speed with which you moved the camera through the shop was dizzying. I slowed my playback to quarter-time, and it was still a blur. It may feel silly while doing it, but if you could very slowly pan in a shop like this it would be so much better! I know we all enjoy examining shops that you enjoy! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for letting me step back in time . Lovely
Linda, I’m so glad for you! This video was especially wonderful. What a delight!
Thank you Linda for taking me back to Sturbridge Village, the music you chose to play was so appropriate. This video was truly amazing. Merry Christmas 🌲 to you, Ben and family. Blessings ☮ 🤶🧑🎄🎄🐕
