- This year I decided to create more of a Falloween Fall look for our house. I'm doing less Halloween decor this year and and just adding a few touches here and there to the Autumn Fall decor, to give a more Elegant Halloween look and lessen my work of underrating once Halloween is over. In this video, you will also see a followup to the Boston Baked Beans recipe, the herbs I have been drying, some work around Sugarwood, and information about out our subscription Christmas Box.

Each year, Halloween decorations I see become more macabre and disturbing, so I decorate only for Fall. I love the natural decor you have in your kitchen. Your kitchen window display is perfect.
I agree. I only put a few cute halloween things up. I am getting away from it too.

We don’t tend to decorate seasonally here in Australia- Christmas is big of course, but Halloween is only for really for families with children.
I know, I saw a yard decorated with a huge metal devil and demon. It is disturbing.

Yes, I do not participate in Halloween any longer. The holiday concept does not match my beliefs. I do fall as well, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Love Linda's ideas.

I always look forward to Sunday’s watching your videos. Thank you for posting. I rewatched the part when you were screaming for Willow when he was getting sprayed by the skunk. It was funny seeing your reaction calling for him. It was so out of character. But that’s how we would all react if our fur babies were getting sprayed by a skunk.
I had to laugh but I would have reacted exactly the same. Nobody wants to deal with that mess. God Bless.

The leaf garland is beautiful, and perfect on that window! Your decorations are incredibly elegant and tasteful..celebrating the season, which should be the star, with just enough Halloween. I really think holiday decorations have become outrageous, even vulgar in their over the top gaudiness. The coziness factor of this video is off the charts! In Montana where I live, trees have just started turning and the temps have been in the low 60’s, however, todays high is expected to be 78 degrees. 😥 You have the most beautiful and peaceful yard and I get a mood boost whenever I see your beautiful garden & stone fence.

Poor Willow not knowing what she was getting into! As always your house decor is enviable. My neighborhood is putting up decorations. What ever happened to Casper the Friendly Ghost? Too many blow-ups, too many bloody bodies with sound effects! Give me pumpkins and flowers and corn stalks any day! Great job Linda! Will have to watch this one again.

I'm from upstate NY but now on west coast. I so miss this time of year back east. The colors, the cold (we had a 100+ summer) the food, a cozy blanket & hot chocolate 😢. We use tomato juice , followed by shampoo to wash our dog when he was sprayed by skunks. Love your falloween decorations
Lol the last bit with Willow vs the skunk !😂 I would have said the same if not worse!🤣 I live in fear of my dog, husband, kids or myself getting sprayed by a skunk as there are plenty of them around our property and one was trying to live in our barn😯 I enjoyed this video very much ❤️🍁🍂🎃
I had a lot of skunks a few years ago. They were eating slugs in the grass. I put down a granular slug killer on the grass. Killed the slugs and the skunks went away. Good luck!
This video was such a nice accumulation of fall/subtle Halloween decorating. I do like the “upscale” using more natural items, no plastic Halloween items. Must say I do LOVE your “thrift/vintage” of the fortune tellers globe with the creepy hands holding it, especially the swirling going on inside the globe! What a find!

According to the late Tomi DePalo in his book, An Early American Christmas , not only did the early settlers not decorate their homes , but they almost ran a German Family out of the village , bc they decorated ( most likely a tree) . Then as more German settlers came to NE, it became popular to have a Christmas tree and bayberry candles in the windows.
Can you imagine if the early settlers saw some of the Halloween Decorations that people put up around in their houses today? 😳
I know it’s crazy , but l think of that every time l pass a very old home .

Oh so funny! Poor Willow. Our doodle who looks exactly like Willow caught 2 squirrels after we would tell him to “get the squirrel “ needless to say we don’t do that anymore. They are so curious and good hunters, we forget that lol! ❤🐾 btw I love the garland inside!

Oh Linda your house is beautiful. Every year I put a pumpkin on a cake dish with a berry sprig around it just like you do . I’m in FL for 30 years … still miss New England . My son moved to Boston so hopefully I’ll be up there soon visiting and enjoying the beauty of the area. I can’t wait to order your Christmas box!

I live in New Bedford , and the leaves are beginning to blush with color . Willow is a wonderful companion . She loves you so . I had great luck using hydrogen peroxide to remove skunk from our dog and son when sprayed . 😊
I can't wait to get the Christmas Box!! My family is gone and I am alone at Christmas time and it is hard to get through. The box will be a big surprise; one I will look forward to opening. I live in Washington State now, but I grew up in Connecticut. I miss New England, so this will bring some of it back to me. Thank you for doing that!!!😘

I love your videos and they inspire me to do more here at our New England home! Your voice is very mellow and calm as you document everything you share. I've been trying to keep my cat inside more since weve had a skunk residing in a pile of scrap wood on the side of our garage. I took the leaf blower the other day and blew it near the woodpile in hopes to disturb the day sleeping skunk. Maybe it'll get the hint and move to a home in the back woods. Lol. I hope Willow is ok.

My favorite has always been that gorgeous white cinderella pumpkin on the dark cake stand with the creamy garland. I really need to duplicate that!. I have the dark metal bronze stand already. It is so elegant for fall. The falling leaves at the end was such a tranquil, peaceful way to finish my pumpkin spice coffee! Thank you.
I did see similar pumpkins at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods. I think they were a Martha Stewart brand and the berries... I saw very similar ones as picks at Hobby Lobby last month. It would be simple to twist them into a garland and wreath.
Linda, one of the reasons I enjoy your videos is because you are so real. I laughed so hard as you tried to get Willow to mind, before she was doused with skunk!!! This video was a view of NE at its best. Nicely done. You made me want to bake beans again. Looking forward to the Christmas box!
