This is the most mind-blowingly creative piece of riff pounding, soul shaking, wailing, rhythmically rolling, primal thunder ever recorded. 50 years after first hearing it I still go "WTF are they doing and why does it make me feel like this". If any human says this song does not move them in some way, they are lying.
Songs are so much better when they take you on a little ride on music and pull you along on a roller coaster before transitioning back into the song again.

I saw Led Zepp in Manchester UK in November 1971 - by chance because a friend had a ticket and couldn't go - The first 20 minutes were a bit 'flat', they weren't quite getting it going, until they did a Thirty minute version of this and brought the house down. One of the greatest things I ever witnessed. The tickets were 60p, 80p, and £1. $2 back then. Amazing.
@@jamesaron1967 Around the same period I saw Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, five rows back, which was brilliant, but the Led Zep concert remains my number one. The tracks swirling back and forth was something quite new back then. Ear buds still don't do it justice! This music was designed for speakers & a multi-track dolby system. In Pink Floyds song "Money" you actually need a minimum of 4 tracks (or surround sound) to really get the music properly. The beginning cash registers actually move around you.
I'm so glad this song cheered you up as much as it did! I think I'd only _ever_ want you to be sad if I could see you be so cheered up and smiling and laughing again. And your smile is the best.
Amazing, Amazing, Amazing was your reaction! Sometimes a Little Rock and Roll is what you need to help ease your mind. Hope life treats you better and your worries are few.
If you listen to LedZep a lot, you realize that most of songs they have are not wild at all but this one is the wildest ..It was like they wanted the reach the pinnacle of it and bomb it all out and then it went much more tame and sophisticated as they went on.
If you enjoyed the rock and roll era of the 70’s, you might also enjoy the softer side of the 70’s with songs like Gordon Lightfoot - “If You Could Read My Mind”, Jim Croce - “Time In A Bottle”, James Taylor -“Fire and Rain” and Carole King - “It’s Too Late”.
