    First attempt for Olympic gold, second attempt for OR, third attempt for her own WR (unfortunately not this time).....that's how dominant she is in her category.....but what impressed me the most is how she helped out less fortunate kids with gear, pushed the sport of weightlifting, and even donated a freaking ambulance to rural parts of Taiwan before all her success at the Olympics.

    @Garage Strength, this is a personal question. I'm a sophomore currently and want to do wrestling next year. I've want to do it since 7th grade but my parents always said no because its contact but I just love the sport so much. If I convince my parents and grind my ass off for 6 months with the equipment I have, could I still be a good wrestler? Thanks man, love the videos. :)

    Quick question, I’ve been lifting from home in preparation for wrestling for a while and have recently been interested in training Olympic lifts, largely due to your content. However, due to the complexity of the movements I have opted to wait until I’m able to get with a coach in person (not saying your style isn’t effective, but I personally respond better to in person coaching).
    The question is, are there more basic compound movements I can utilize that develop similar explosiveness in the meantime? Thanks!

    • @GarageStrength
      @GarageStrength  3 роки тому +2

      May not the same level, but squats and bench can develop explosiveness

    • @sakaue
      @sakaue 3 роки тому +2

      I'm definitely not who you asked for, and I'm definitely not qualified to give any form of answer, but I'd like to add that practicing the vertical jump and other kinds of jumping might serve you well while you wait.

    • @trumandiehl780
      @trumandiehl780 3 роки тому

      Thanks Coach! I’ll continue using those compounds
      Hilltop loser, any and all help is wanted, my friend. I appreciate it, I’ll be sure to experiment with different jump variations. Thanks again

    Below paralell valgus only means quads are porportionately more participant in the movenement than the glutes, as it should be. Above paralell valgus is a sign of faulty technique

    I have been practicing snatch for 6 months and I am stuck at 65 lb( 35 bar 15 +15)
    next weight I can go up is 70 since 2.5lb is th lowest weigh our gym has.
    what should I do?
    1. keep on lifting just 65
    2. buy 1-1.5 weight and try to go up.
    3. keep doing drills until I can lift to 70.
    Please help me. thank you!

    Hey coach im having trouble catching in a full squat, everything i do i still catch it tall in a power position, up to 225 i catch in power and i know i could clean alot more if i dropped to a squat is there any drills you can reccomend to train that instinct to drop down?

    • @GarageStrength
      @GarageStrength  3 роки тому +3

      Try working on ankle mobility. Start doing the bar an weights around 60 kg where you work on moving in full range of motion when turning over the wrists. Hope that helps 👍

      @ankitamohapatra5706 3 роки тому

      I'm struggling with this too! Thank you, Coach :) David, I'm incorporating tall cleans & drop snatches in my training to battle that moment of sheer terror that's mentally blocking me from dropping into the full squat mid-lift.
