How to Make Perfect Quinoa

  • In this video I show you how to make the perfect quinoa that is light, fluffy and packed with delicious alkaline ingredients. One of the first things I gave up when transitioning to an alkaline vegan diet was white rice. I've completely replaced my white rice with quinoa and I've noticed such a big difference. No more bloating, extra belly fat or constipation. Quinoa is packed with fiber so it will naturally help you have regular bowel movements and keep your weight down. I encourage you to make the switch and cook more quinoa. You'll notice the difference!

I cooked this once, but did not add any seasoning following the directions on the box and I did not care for it, but the way you cooked yours seems like it is really tasty. Will definitely have to try it this way!

Love your recipe and I can't wait to try it. Question, I've watched a few videos and package instructions say to be sure to wash quinoa as it has a film on it that has to be rinsed/removed first, but you didn't have to do that with yours. If I wash my quinoa do I still prep and cook it in the oil wet and will that mess up the cooking process? THANK YOU for helping us!!! 💗

To be honest, I’ve never washed mine beforehand but it wouldn’t hurt to rinse it off before use. It won’t mess up the cooking process of you wet it beforehand.

@@veryvanessa Thank you for responding!! I saw were several have said Quinoa has a natural coating called saponin and if we do not rinse it before cooking it leaves a bitter taste, but they did say there are some we can buy that comes pre-washed. Maybe the brand you use is pre-washed. I would prefer to used the one you used. (This kinda made me think of how I rinse my white rice before cooking to remove the powdery starch on it.)

Interesting! I never even knew! I will definitely try washing it first and see if the taste is different. Thanks for the tip! 💛

I’m definitely going to prepare this..... minus the habanero pepper. I’m going to use the jalapeño pepper.....That habanero is too much heat.

Why do i keep finding UA-camrs referring to the herb thyme as a spice?C'mon,peeps..at least you brought it back at the end.Nice to see a yard twist on a new-school staple..every country's got its own cuisine that's somewhat similar to its' neighbours, and the Carribean's no exception;but it's cool finding new variations:maybe some more Haitian-style variant vids, aswell as some classics would be cool..hope your nutritional self-nursing been helpful in your recovery

Not telling you how to cook, but I don’t think measuring dry ingredients in a liquid measuring cup gives you the correct measurements. I was taught that in a cooking class.
