I just remember checking it in 2019 and thinking "at what moment did i make a tumblr account?" And decided to delete it since i hold tumblr and people who use it in really low regards.
I stopped using Twitter like a year ago, and I've been so much less self-loathing and tense since those days. Even if you try to avoid the toxic garbage on that site, the sheer atmosphere of social media can get to you. At this point, I only use it to RT good art I see on other sites, and *rarely* DM friends I can only talk to on there. The timeline may as well not exist to me anymore.
This video is exactly what I needed. Twitter has been so bad this month, with the Nintendo community and the amount of negativity, not to mention everything that has happened before. This video really resonated with me, glad you made it. :)
I couldn't agree more! I'm slowly getting out from Twitter, altough I was one of the first Italians to use it. It's been a very long journey, but now it's just stressful.
Yeah. I’m kind of glad that I never got into Twitter because every time I hear about Twitter, it’s always about someone arguing about their petty opinions on something and as someone who tries to understand and respect the opinions of others, Twitter basically goes against any of my ideals. Glad to know there are people like you who know when Twitter is just a negative impact on their life and know when to quit.
This is exactly why I have no social media except for linkedIn. Good for you Fither. I'm glad getting rid of it has improved your state of mind for you, man.
My very first tweet in 2016 was something among the lines of "Twitter is so gay. I can't believe Windows made a pre-installed app for it." Looking back now, my statement still stands.
Honestly that website needs to be shutdown it's nothing but constant political fights, K-Pop stans, people trying to justify and normalize pedophilla, etc

I lost some friends because of Twitter... I lost all the respect that I had for some content creators while over there. It kept making me feel miserable, it kept distracting me at work..... then one day I decided to leave, much like a friend of mine, and I've been happier and more productive since The only way to win, is to not play.
This isn't nearly the same as twitter, but i also quit snapchat months ago and i feel so much better about everything now. I was always so anxious every time i heard a notification or even opened the app. Dude, social media sucks
I don't blame you. I use it for a little quick gaming news, advertise my stream, contests. I just signed up last December. Its a mix of folks wanting to share good life news, art, cosplay, modeling. Then there's that side that shakes a hornet nest throws it into a crowd and proceed to get angry when the folks stung come to argue.
I have deleted tweeter a couple months ago during the protests and riots and remember it seriously draining my mental energy and really put me in negative moods throughout the day. I've since now have it redownloaded with notifications off and only check it every other day for 30 minutes. But I remember when I had it deleted I wasn't really as much productive tbh but I definitely felt much better throughout the day. Twitter is basically tumblr 2.0.
I genuinely feel as if my communication skills have gotten worse from using Twitter for so long. And honestly, as much as I wish I could quit, I know I'd probably come back to it not long after just because my brain at this point has become addicted to the dopamine rush I get from Twitter notifications.
yeah it absolutely does a weird thing to your brain where its hard to break the twitter dialect I guess, very long paragraphs almost feel like a foreign concept
@@Fitherfith Oh yeah, writing longer paragraphs is definitely tougher. It just feels so strange writing longform stuff since I'm so used to being limited to just 240 characters. I do wanna try to "re-adjust" myself as it were though and drop Twitter if I can. See if that helps me out at all.
The thing about being a waste of time could be said for any social media, like you could be doing something so much better like refining a skill or consume some other media. Yep !! Basically all the reasons I left twitter a few weeks ago as well. I don’t have any social media I use, but I think I want to try getting into discord and meeting people there but I’m scared to do voice chatting (mostly because I’m a girl and I know it sounds silly but things have happened in the past so,,,).
Good call on getting rid of that app, you literally can’t think for yourself when you go on there. Shit has gotten really bad, I hope we can rip ourselves from this electric prison that is social media.
I've wanted to quit twitter for a long while now but I couldn't because I thought I'd be missing out on the fan art and my friend that I made on it but I'm so tired of reading something and becoming so miserable and wasting so much time when I could do something much better. I've just deleted it and I feel so much better for it this video really helped a lot rationalize my thoughts on where the good stuff was worth fucking with my mood everyday (which it isn't) so thank you

Today marks one year since this video was uploaded and it still one of your best videos to date. This video inspired me to leave Twitter and I did back in November of 2020. Since then, I have been free from Twitter and my mental health has been so much better. Twitter is just a shithole of a website that the good people that are on there are overshadowed by the negative ones. While I haven't touch that garbage fire for months now, I know people who still use it and it seems to have gotten a lot worse since then. Twitter is a toxic website that needs to shut down. I feel like the world would be better if Twitter shuts down.
I dodged a million rounds by not using Twitter all those years ago. And yeah, it really does seem like, at least for me, it gets easier to tell which kind of people are dominated by the more negative aspects of social media (especially stuff like Reddit and Twitter). It just gets annoying seeing people push down their constantly changing morals down to you.
The funniest part tumblr didn't die. It's super great now and peaceful . I've been on and enjoying tumblr a lot more in recent months. Also at the beginning of the US covid outbreak me and some pals uninstalled Twitter for the sake of our mental health and it was like the best feeling ever
I knew twitter had gone completely downhill when I got a callout post for tweets I made 4 years ago about a P4 ship I like. I was called out by 14 year-old, fuckin lmao The only way to make it somewhat bearable is muting, soft-blocking, and following very few people. Had to do this with a secondary account
this p much describes how i feel about twitter. it fucking blows that twitter has such a toxic environment and it's such a mental drain. only time i've used twitter nowadays is to see fanart and even then i see people talk and even if it doesn't involve me, i just feel so drained at that point.
I don't want to delete Twitter but god there is some good art then again I'll pop a blood vessel hearing the same shit about "why this character is boring" and why "shes best girl" thing over and over again
As a journalist and producer, I have to have twitter for my job. I try to make a point of never using it while I'm not at work, but god even the times I have to be monitoring it at work are fucking MISERABLE... it's the worst of us all bubbled to the surface. It's so vitriolic and hateful, it's basically a non-stop chain of bullying, harassment, and hate. It's bad :/
I hated twitter long before making an account. I knew it'd be shit when I joined, though it didn't help that I joined right before tumblr killed itself. I only joined to post art because I do commissions and follow artists and it's one of the biggest audiences. I've honestly been considering leaving for a long time, especially since I don't get a whole bunch of attention, so it's probably not even worth the headache.
Twitter and Reddit are so toxic, the moment i stopped using them and uninstalled them i felt much better. I only use instagram now and just focus on a specific group of friends on there.

I _have_ a twitter account that I made before the fall of tumblr, but I don't use them for tweets at all; the most that I do with them is just to follow VTubers and some artists whose arts I happen to like.
I find that reddit has a similar problem. Especially the front page: you are either "woke" or racist/sexist. It's tiring to hear thing being called your fault regarding the circumstances of your birth. I am a man, and I'm european. Seeing so much negativity directed at me just seems to drain the last bits of giving a shit about others from me.
What sucks is that I need Twitter to keep up with certain game developers who only post updates on there, which I get through notifications, trying my best not to look at anything else. If I could get all that stuff from somewhere else, I would delete it in a heartbeat.
I started using Twitter recently and Im sticking to only looking at Creators that I REALLY Liked which is like 4 people and Vtubers; And Im happy with that. But I can See the Cancer in the Peripherals.
I lost my first account it got suspended 2 years ago and I finally got it back but then I took my main email out and deactivated it for good. I feel so unsafe in there everyone attacking each other and the whole anime stuff getting attacked and well its actually been effecting my anxiety and even if I don't use it the stuff I hear is so bad. I have a new account for art and you know "art" even though I don't post at least they artists have other ways to show art not on twitter.
I absolutely agree. Getting off twitter makes me remember what it felt like to just be by myself with some friends and enjoying so many things without "acthuallys". beyond a few friends man it's just one thing every other day.

In all seriousness, taking a break from any social media in general is a healthy decision because you can focus more on your own life instead of your interactions with others. It's true there is some good on Twitter but the rest is just this echo chamber of narcissism, condescending righteousness, and anger. I guess that's just what happens when everyone is dumped into one place where they want to be heard.
I think he's done with Twitter, not jjst taking a break. And tbh, that's probably the best decision to make. Twitter is a cesspool of the internet
Attention whoring tends to go badly. Imagine building plataforms cathering solely to that.
@@cryguy0000 so is reddit everything said here applies to reddit even after hand picking shit being active on reddit is a curse I will never do that shit again I hate reddit but I will use it every now and then. For self promo
@@ryanvaughn3121 I didn't even mention Reddit
I actually deactivated my Twitter account recently. This video inspired me to quit using it. Thank you.
The only reason why I still use Twitter is to follow hentai artists.
Fither has no idea how relatable this is, he described my experience and thought process when using twitter to a T, safe for the dates.
thanks homie glad you got something out of it
What ruined social media was politics it was the biggest mistake it still is.
I love that fither gauges time based on if he could have watched an anime or beat a video game in the same length of time lmaoo
I do the same shit
I disabled twitter months ago never felt better. I tried it out for at least 3 months it was shitty. Glad it’s gone
I couldn't agree more!
I'm slowly getting out from Twitter, altough I was one of the first Italians to use it.
It's been a very long journey, but now it's just stressful.
twitter has fucking caused several genuine anxiety attacks for me and leaving it has been the best decision ive ever made
Seeing videos like these makes me so happy for the fact i barely use social media, it sounds like such a time sink.
There's a reason Why Twitter Is the 7th circle of the internet hell in my opinion
I can't believe Windows made a pre-installed app for it."
Looking back now, my statement still stands.
Getting suspended from Twitter was a blessing for me tbh
Honestly that website needs to be shutdown it's nothing but constant political fights, K-Pop stans, people trying to justify and normalize pedophilla, etc
@@NG-qr9so Ever since someone threaten to dox me I left that shithole site. It's a toxic platform that everyone's addict to.
@@saucymongoose7246 it's honestly just a horrible site it's stuff like that which is why I stick to Discord I can just stick around places with my friends and I don't have to worry about any of that shit tbh
Same 🤣
I now only use twitter to follow Japanese people that posts art on pixiv or mainly post their art on Twitter.
I'm glad I don't like any social media, other than UA-cam, but it doesn't seem like one.
I lost some friends because of Twitter... I lost all the respect that I had for some content creators while over there. It kept making me feel miserable, it kept distracting me at work..... then one day I decided to leave, much like a friend of mine, and I've been happier and more productive since
The only way to win, is to not play.
This isn't nearly the same as twitter, but i also quit snapchat months ago and i feel so much better about everything now. I was always so anxious every time i heard a notification or even opened the app.
Dude, social media sucks
I literally only use Twitter to beg capcom for a Code Veronica remake
I don't blame you. I use it for a little quick gaming news, advertise my stream, contests.
I just signed up last December. Its a mix of folks wanting to share good life news, art, cosplay, modeling.
Then there's that side that shakes a hornet nest throws it into a crowd and proceed to get angry when the folks stung come to argue.
Twitter is a cancer on the back of the internet tbh.
2016: I’m gonna get on social media to get a break from reality
2020: I’m gonna take a break from social media...it’s getting pretty negative.
The thing about being a waste of time could be said for any social media, like you could be doing something so much better like refining a skill or consume some other media. Totally unrelated, nsfw twitter is so good but so bad, consuming that kind of media for me has felt mentally rotting. I give twitter a good week or two break to do junk.
That's facts the same can be said for reddit ningen who think they are smart even tho they dumb downvoters who think they are doing something and the feel of the website and app for that matter is there to suck time once I realized I hate reddit I deleted that damn app and check on it occasionally and never be active on it again now I can make more podcasts in Peace since I don't need their help no longer
From what I see, Twitter is a virtual drug. I’m glad I never got it
I follow a couple of my favorite artists on Twitter. Once a month I would log in, stare at a wall of japanese characters, look at some nice art and that's it. The good thing is, even if there were drama going on, I wouldn't know since I can't read what anyone is posting anyways!
Twitter is absolutely dogshit, you made the right choice, Fith. I deleted my Twitter 2-3 weeks ago and it’s so nice to be away from it.
I've wanted to quit twitter for a long while now but I couldn't because I thought I'd be missing out on the fan art and my friend that I made on it but I'm so tired of reading something and becoming so miserable and wasting so much time when I could do something much better. I've just deleted it and I feel so much better for it this video really helped a lot rationalize my thoughts on where the good stuff was worth fucking with my mood everyday (which it isn't) so thank you
Yeah, I need to free myself from this hellhole
People: I've stopped using twitter and now I'm woke.
Me, never used social media in my life: A God.
You're so incredibly lucky to have missed quarantine twitter; twitter has really been damaging my psyche over the past few months, and you've finally convinced me to drop it. Thank you.
Law - You decide to stick to being on Twitter happily, even with all the problems, you can enjoy yourself under Twitter
Chaos - You fight and fight under Twitter, you argue over all opinions that go against yours until you come up on top or fall...
Neutrality - You decide to delete Twitter, ignoring the media and deciding to move on with your life..
I deleted twitter because it didn't help with my depression and the whole "map" problem it has
I wish everyone calling themselves “MAPs” unironically and proudly would just get help ASAP.
@@phillemon7664 i don't know why twitter of all the websites have a map problem the most
@@guardian4452 it apparently started as a Tunblr thing but they all migrated once porn was banned
@@enthiegavoir5955 that explains a lot
Twitter CAUSES depression, dear.
Social media is a curious addiction. You hate it, yet you love it. I think it's time to say goodbye to Twatter
I just deleted Twitter good timing dude
hella rad
I respect you for making this video. More content creators need to speak and discuss this topic. Social media is dividing us more than uniting and it’s given real fucking weirdos a platform to speak when they should keep their thoughts to themselves.
Twitter is a horrible place full of horrible and toxic people. Deleted it and has made my life so much better.
I just uninstalled it too, it’s filled of stupid people, not that I’m any better than them, but geez they get hung up on the most dumb shit, it’s sad and I don’t want to be like that. Life is too short to spend it on useless garbage like that
I recently saw someone call it America's Townhall, I retorted and said it was America's Insane Asylum.
Social media just sucks in general sometimes, happy your feeling better now! :)

I abandoned my twitter account around the time tumblr started invading it. I’ve never regretted it since.
Luckily for myself, I just use twitter for art and vtubers. This has apparently saved my timeline from too much politics
Sigh. My twitter timeline has been mismanaged. I need to clean up the people I follow and delete all the trending topics that are recommended to me.
I only bother following Japanese artist and vtuber nowdays
@@n-extrafries-surprise
Honestly just don't search for anything and stick exclusively to your follows and it'll most likely be fine.
The 40 character limit makes Intelligent convos impossible
Everything you said about quiting or taking a break from twitter actually applies to all forms of social media. It's really good advice
Your channel keeps getting better and better.
The funniest part tumblr didn't die. It's super great now and peaceful . I've been on and enjoying tumblr a lot more in recent months.
Also at the beginning of the US covid outbreak me and some pals uninstalled Twitter for the sake of our mental health and it was like the best feeling ever
I started using it as well but my brain gets tired so I have to limit it lol
I knew twitter had gone completely downhill when I got a callout post for tweets I made 4 years ago about a P4 ship I like. I was called out by 14 year-old, fuckin lmao
The only way to make it somewhat bearable is muting, soft-blocking, and following very few people.
Broke: Tumblr sucks
Woke: Reddit sucks
Bespoke: Twitter sucks
The correct answer: Social Media sucks
Twitter and Reddit are so toxic, the moment i stopped using them and uninstalled them i felt much better. I only use instagram now and just focus on a specific group of friends on there.
I don’t understand why everyone’s gotta be so damn negative all the damn time. I swear they need to get outside more.
I have literally never had bad experience on reddit, you could say it's been a golden experience
Loving the videos Fith, you hit the nail on the head with this one
Twitter is just too toxic and it’s good to just stop using twitter
Been meaning to get off twitter for a while and seeing this was the big push I needed to finally get it done. Thanks Fither
I _have_ a twitter account that I made before the fall of tumblr, but I don't use them for tweets at all; the most that I do with them is just to follow VTubers and some artists whose arts I happen to like.
Im just glad Im not the only person who thinks this way
To be honest the only thing I use Twitter anymore is just to check/follow some art/artists once every week or so .
There's something scarily similar about this video and one about 4chan that a guy named J.T Sexkik made a long while back.
I dont have a twitter or Facebook. All I have is a Instagram which has only my cats and me meeting voice actors.
the only reason to use twitter nowadays is for memes and porn, even then, its hard to find good shit which sucks
And self promotion
But you right twitter can't even do that right.
Getting off twitter makes me remember what it felt like to just be by myself with some friends and enjoying so many things without "acthuallys". beyond a few friends man it's just one thing every other day.
i got suspended on twitter and decided not to make a second account
best decision of my entire fucking life
after i deleted twitter, i woke up the next day actually feeling happy and ready to go to work, its crazy how one shitty little app can influence your emotions and thought process
Twitters the site where everyone thinks only theyre right
Put that on reddit
It’s for the best. I still use it but it’s mainly to follow vtubers and art
