This is a video showcasing the Battle entrance Animations in Shin Megami Tensei 2 + the ones I can find from SMT V. Time Stamp in Description and the Video as Chapters (gaps in slider).
They seem to be going all out on the production value here. When zan skills are used you can see the wind marks in the sand, little details like that which make the game look really fricking promising.
0:48 - Oh of fucking course the Dragon family get summoned by a tornado. Tornados in Japanese are called Tatsumaki (竜巻). They are so named because a tornado resembled a coiling dragon
Weird of them to come up with tornados resembling coiling dragons when, well, dragons don't really exist. Like, it's not like they've ever seen one to compare. But what do I know.
@@crushingon I mean..... Angels don't really exist, but we have idioms and stuff for them.... It's all about the religion/culture/folklore/mythology.... It's pretty interesting tbh
I like that in this game every demon will feel unique not just because of these entrances, but also because it seems every demon as a skill unique to them, like jack frost with jack bufula
man i wish for that to happen so much, but from what i've seen in the daily demon showcase it seems like it will be only a select few. Am already hyped, but if they did that AND add Minotaur, i would be a hyped man with bad economic judgement, the perfect prey for atlus.
I got a special interaction with my Cait sith and a nekomata. He asked her out and she thought he was lame so she bailed pretty quickly. I do have to commend him for his efforts though
If only the same effort was put into the story as the presentation…ah well….it’s always nice to know what Lucifer is up to and how it affects the meta of shin megami tensei.
Could you make a compilation of the smt 5 summon effects? There are even some demon specific ones, at the very least I know that mermaid has a unique sfx and animation when summoned
Pentagram = a yellow summoning circle The drake sound always freaked me out All the animations in SMT II are a really nice touch, there is a lot of polish in SMT II The wood animation of the root sprouting from the ground is my favourite, though I don't remember much wood minions existing. The new enemy encounter animations in SMT V look pretty underwhelming by comparison, a bit too large scaled and ugly (the fairy/yousei one is a bit much) but at least they added any, and we'll have to see all of them to judge fairly. Nocturne was a bit bland in this respect because it lacked the polish of previous titles like this so I'm glad they are adding stuff like this to the new game.
Bro, I'm 50 hours in and i'm lvl 40. I play from now on then, but man, this game is long as fuck if you deactivate the mitama DLC and search for miman and secondary quests. Not complaining, I just don't know when I will be done with the game (on top of that, there's more than one finale right?)
Whoa Whoa, I have NEVER noticed this before in SMT II that each Demon group had a different entrance animation.......neither did I see this during the SMTV livestreams.

I am actually surprised that Atlus is bringing back the unique battle entrances, it made all the demons from each group feel very unique.
Too bad the animations are bit short IMO.
Definitaly improved my impressions of SMT V so far.
@@Ice-Raptor I think they're short to keep the games overall speed up.

Yeah
I also loved the elemental kills

Interesting, Thank you for the Explanation.

I mean it's Jack Frost, what did you expect
Not every demon has a unique skill tho sadly. Atleast dx2 kinda covers that up tho
What they do have is quite unique trees as far as negotiation goes.

Each day passes and SMT V keeps looking neat as fuck
Woahhh I played this game for legit 200+ hours and didn’t notice those entrance animations were based on race.
I was already glad when Skill Affinities came back, but this is another awesome addition, gives Demons that little bit more personality.
Affinities don't really matter when skill prices are even more inflated than in Apocalypse
Details like these are greatly appreciated
This gets me hella excited for SMTV, release day is so close by!!
Wowow! This is Great! I never noticed that before!
Thanks for the upload
Holy crap this is pretty cool!
Top 3
3. Vegetation
2. Demonica
1. Magica
The trickle of blue light also looks really similar to how the “debilítate” animations look like in Nocturne and DDS
I didn’t even notice they had unique animations in V cool
I never notice this during my playthrough, but this is a neat detail to add in the game
very nice
I like that the lightning one is the one used for all the demons in Nocturne
If only the same effort was put into the story as the presentation…ah well….it’s always nice to know what Lucifer is up to and how it affects the meta of shin megami tensei.
I remember playing this game and stuck at satan, damn that demon is hard to defeat
I'm quite surprised races like Amatsu, Deity and Megami don't have any special entrance

I did not notice that, sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for 2-3 weeks. I unfortunately might be unable to grant your request.
Are you willing to do an update for the SMTV animations when it comes out?
Maybe, Sry for L8 reply I just got back home

Also in smt 5 some demon have entrance animations when they spawn on the map.
What about Fiends?
(Sorry i might've missed it)
