2 key take aways from this video which were IMMENSELY helpful was 1. where the plastic piece fit in as you put back the assembly and 2. to seat the gasket in FIRST before you push down on the assembly at the end. YOU saved me SO much time. thank you
I like that you are careful at every step not to damage the parts you are handling and in general the care you take in making sure everything fits correctly. Great video among a sea of poor ones.
Now this is a great video ...!!! He actually shows the position how to grab it and how to pull it out and put it back in and explains everything in between this is how you make a video great job I gotta do this job on my car now....My pump is working fine but my gauge ain’t reading right hope it’s just a sender unit I need to do some troubleshooting check the omh reading on a meter...! What I like is he explained what others don’t explain making this job very easy now thank you very much
A couple of things I would never buy from a salvage yard one being a used fuel pump, it's not worth the liability, if you're left stranded depending how far you are from home the towing charge will outweigh the cost of buying a new name brand pump like airtex, another is a water pump, you're just asking for trouble. I priced an airtex for my 2003 530i they're around 125.00.
I just replaced mine on a 1998 528i. The orange light does not come on when gas is low. Also, the car ran out of gas when the gauge is at a quarter. What did I do wrong. Thanks

thx for the vid. Anyone here with experience with a Magneti Marelli replacement pump, quality wise?
Found out the original is Pierburg.
Hello, my 528i fuel gauge is showing incorrectly. Should I replace this part?
there two, you could remove both then operate the level by hand on both and see if fuel gauge is corresponding to positions
