      Hi Rab !
      Being thought as a multiday pack,how much weight would it realistically carry without tearing apart,or destroying your shoulders?
      Would it handle 15-16 kg?
      Thanks.

    Thanks for your thoughts! I got mine yesterday and I’m pretty psyched to give it a spin on the trail. I already shoved in most of my gear and I’m really impressed how well it handles 13kg of camping and climbing gear. Although I feel that it’s got its sweet spot, when it’s too light it doesn’t sit well on me. Also I’m not so sure about the back length: I’m way shorter in that regard then RAB recommends (42cm instead of 48cm) but apart from the shoulder padding being a little bit out of place I wouldn’t want to be taller for this pack. The only thing that might annoy me is the chest belt‘s closure. Maybe I’ll get used to „unclipping“ the hooks, but with a pack of that size I’d rather like to get out of the harness as quick as possible. On the other hand I used to own a Lundhags pack with this huge G-buckle on the hipbelt and it grew on me. Let’s see how it goes!

      I’d like to add one more thing: I really love this pack for its simplicity. It’s got everything you’d want to have on a pack this size, but there’s nothing of that faff other packs come with. All the things included are made with so much love for detail and the easiest solutions you could think of. The bottom compression strap? Just one cordelette tightened by a simple tanka. Everything is removable, hence, replaceable. No zippers that could break on you. And although it’s pretty roomy (I’d say it has the same volume as osprey’s aether/ariel 65) and a neat fit, the top closure is big enough to actually reach in and find your gear.

    Excellent video!
    I am similar size to you - you prefer carry comfort of Exos Pro 55 or this? Will be loading with aprox 10-15k hike and fly gear - some trail running with lighter loads, some overnights, some flying etc.
    Exos Pro seems to have better comfort, Muon better agility?
    Thanks!

    Great detailed review. I’m pretty much 99% certain I’m getting one for a 3 day hike im doing end of August. This review has given me even more confidence in getting it.

    Terrific detailed overview well delivered James. You are very good at this. 😎 It’s a shame the channel hasn’t more of a following.

    Thanks 4 the review. Wondering what kind of water bottle have you got tucked into the strap pocket? Looking at my pack it looks too small for a bottle? Thanks 😊

    Did you test it during a longer shower or heavy rain? How much water came in? Would be really interesting to know!

    Great review and presentation! This is my first bag packing tent and I think I made a good choice. The side pockets are a bit loose for my liking. Anyway, I have subscribed thanks!

    Hello, why do you think the fabric doesn't absorb water? It's a nylon fabric after all which is known to absorb a lot of moisture and not easily letting it out. Thank you

    Nice overview! Is the 50 and the 40 more or less the same size but the 50 is taller and has the lid? and what are your thoughts on the loose side pockets, anything fall out? and how strong is the fabric on the bottom of the pockets? I need to get my tripod in there which has spiked feet. Thanks

    • @OutsideHathersage
      @OutsideHathersage  5 місяців тому +1

      The side pockets are mesh but the very bottom is reinforced material so I think it would be fine. The pockets have a compression strap inside them which would hold the tripod nicely.
      The 50 and 40 have the same frame but just the 50 has slightly more volume and a lid. The 40 has a roll top closure. I hope this helps

    Is it made in a country that is a western democracy? Atom Packs looks similar but made in the UK.

    • @OutsideHathersage
      @OutsideHathersage  6 місяців тому +1

      Hiya, there is one back length for men and one for women. Which basically equates to a regular and short but with different coloured trim. I hope this helps.

      @@OutsideHathersage Thanks! I went to a store yesterday and saw a Rab Muon 40L male pack labeled as "Medium”, that got me confused. I wasn't sure about the sizing, I only did a quick try-on, and it didn't feel like a good fit... I'm going to go back and try it again.. if you are able to check a size label in your backpack I’d appreciate it🙏🏻
