This is my favourite example of pure stripped back Voiceplay saying yes we can do all the theatrics but we don’t need the gimmicks to knock it out of the park. This is a great song to highlight all their individual and combined talents including the arrangements/lighting and general video production. It’s one of my favourites and one of my favourites to introduce people to Voiceplay with. Loving your reactions.
The idea as they expressed it to us is that each of the guys has a safe comfortable place at home where they can retreat to work on whatever creative projects they like, and this cover is a way of inviting their fans into that space. Many of the items in the video were chosen because they're personally meaningful to one of them in some way.
Yes. Layne gave the patreons a tour of the room. What each item is and the meaning behind them. Examples... The plaque on the wall by Layne is Voiceplay 1M subscribers from UA-cam. The jewellery sign belonged to Layne's grandmother, Doris. The piano is Geoff's. The music on the piano is music from Hamilton that deejay is touring with. There's a Nintendo Switch for Cesar. Lava lamp for Eli. Velvet Ottoman for the Beach Boys era. Everything in the room has some significance to either Voiceplay or The Beach Boys. This was filmed in one of his daughters old rooms she now uses as a studio (Rayne). He had to put black curtains over the windows outside. He asked his youngest, Doris, to staple his head after. She quickly refused. They both laughed. She just turned 7 last month. jokester just like her dad lol.
@@jackyfriedman1963 Mostly good info, but Layne has had Raynes Room Recording Studio since before he was married. Both Pattycake and VoicePlay have recorded there. Including many of their ACA Top 10s and Chandelier. Pattycake’s video Disney Girls Like You shows a 360 degree view of the room, including the windows into the control room.
Such a pretty song. VoicePlay can sing the phone book and sound amazing and make it creative, interesting and fun. Another beautiful one that has the same kind of feel to this one is their I Can’t Help Feeling In Love With You. They did a great with that one. 💛
This song was written by Brian who had agoraphobia - fear of open spaces which is why In My Room - safe space. Each person brought a treasure that lived in that room.
This one is SO differnet from NEM, that it takes everyone aback, a little bit. This room was set up with things that were part of each persons life. Their UA-cam 1 million subscriber plaque is on the wall, a playbook from Hamilton (Deejay is touring with it), Wii that Cesar likes to play, the keyboard, because Geoff plays, the Galaxy whatever on the floor for Eli, since he does all of their lighting, Layne's violin, the sign from his grandmother's jewelry store.... They just wanted that feel of "this is home" about it. I am always here for Voiceplay and Geoff!!
Loved the reaction, and it's the same for me, the original was good, a bit slow, but good, but I really like what the guys did with it. The beatboxing made it more interesting, the lighting was beautiful and the little sound effects were just brilliant.
Not just the rhythm of the beatboxing, but also that breathy staccato beginning improves this song. This might be the one song of The Beach Boys that I found boring. But VoicePlay has really spiced it up without taking it too far from the original!

Lighting changes are a big part of what they do. And done mostly by Eli.

Great reaction as always.
