Thanks for the very informative and money saving video! It helps a lot of folks save money!
Quick, easy and informative.
I found the instructions very helpful, thanks for taking the time to put this on. I will now know which tools to bring with me to work on the Toro snowblower.
This is godsend to any Toro owner.....3 cheers for you fella!
Thank you for making this video! It was exactly what I need to know! Thanks for making it short and sweet!
Good job on keeping it simple, thanks.
@ThePauperPrepper Great comment. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching!
@rwwood48 That's a good idea for another repair video. We'll have to get to replacing that housing in the shop for all to see sometime soon.
Great job on explaining this Mark!! :) It was exactly what I was looking for...
Great video. Thanks very much.
Excellent video...it's problem that I was having...thank you
This was great. And BTW, there is so many versions of this same singke stage thrower marketed under different brands. Mine is a John Deere, but it is the same Thrower with some cosmetic changes. I have also seen it marketed as MTD, but there are still many other variations. Asd to the statement "the belt is cheap", I will have to disagree. I paid over $35 for my belt and I spent some serious time shopping for it. But I guess comopared to me paying a shop to fix it, then it may be cheapER!!
Thank You ! It helped me "VOLUMES" !
The video was very helpful. However, when I opened the housing there was a broken spring lying in the bottom of the housing. I believe it is called the brake spring. I ordered a new one but I don't see what it is supposed to attach to.
By the way, I ordered my new belt, spring and rotor blade from a company called Weingartz. I have to give them kudos. Their website is easy to follow. Their prices were better than everyone elses and their shipping was half as much as everyone elses. I ordered the parts on Wed. PM and received them Fri.
Nevermind, I figured it out
To the point I really like this video :)
I noticed the brake roller was missing (this is a nylon tube, part # 55-9520). Is this necessary? It seems to run fine without it
@Moondog9322 Any time!
How do you replace the housing that is behind the belt ? Mine has a hole in the bottom .Mine fills up with snow, and freezes then blades won't work, and it burns up the belts. Thanks.
We have the Toro ccr 2000 and we replaced the paddles and scraper.....used it two times and it was fine....all of a sudden it started a loud rattling noise....and then eventually shut off.......any idea what that could be??? We thought belt but I am not sure that is it based on all of the comments and info in the video......
Great video...my problem is the belt keeps going behind the idler pulley...any suggestions?
Hi Shane, you may have a worn or bent idler bracket.
Do you have a series on how to replace the cable clutch? Mine is stretched to the point of not being to get the impaler to engage.
We don't have a series for the replacement on these cables. There are almost as many different instructions for changing the cables and there are manufacturers.
Excellent video. Question: why does my auger still spin constantly even without the lever depressed? It goes faster when the lever is pressed but still spins quite a bit when idle, too.
Does the Auger stop when pressure is applied. In other words, is the auger under power or is it just the vibration of the engine that makes it rotate?
eReplacementParts.com I don't know but I relaxed some tension on the cable leading to the lever, and that fixed it. I think the cable was too tight, so it was making the auger spin even when the lever was up. It was not just engine vibration.
thanks!
Hi, thanks for the video. I realize it has been a while since you posted the video, but I'm hoping you'll able to help me with my question. I've changed the belt per your instructions. The belt is not supper tight but relaxed as in your video. The only problem is now is that it takes longer for the rotor/impeller to stop, that is paddle do not stop within couple of seconds once the control handle is let go. Do I now have a problem with idler pulley which may require an adjustment, or is the extension-spring needs replacing because it may be stretched out somewhat. As things are, I'm able to lift the idler pulley with only a slight effort (i.e. there was no need for the screw driver). My snow thrower is a 2001 Toro model # 38413. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide on this issue.
Okay, problem solved. Just had to loosen the control bar cable a tad bit!
do you have video on replacing pull cord for this snow blower?
+Ato Mccullough I have the video for the Starter Rope replacment on the 2 stroke String Trimmers. Once you have the cover off from the Snow Blower the replacement will be very similar. I hope this helps you! www.ereplacementparts.com/article/4098/How_to_Replace_the_Starter_Assembly_on_a_Gas_Trimmer.html
