- Step by Step!
Today we'll be working on a Toro 721E single stage 4 cycle snow blower.
The rotor pulley is cracked, and the customer is requesting a new belt as well.
I'll also be showing you the process I go through to find diagrams and part numbers on Toro equipment.

Today's repair was a simple one, but I wanted to share the process I go through to find the parts and diagrams. As I mentioned, Toro makes it easy and all the information is publicly available!
Great video. Thorough, easy to follow, without a bunch of fluff. Well done and thank you for making it!
I had the same problem with my snow blower and went online and purchased the parts. Before I put things back together I found this video and watched it just to check how to install everything correctly. The video is perfect and details a step by step process that will provide anybody who views it, the correct knowledge to fix their Toro snow blower. Jake makes a great video...way better than some of the hacks masquerading as mechanics on UA-cam. You can trust this guy's DIY video tutorials with confidence!
Thanks for the kind words!
Great job King Eliminator!
Thanks for watching!
What a total coincidence that i happened along this video, I have this same machine and last fall when I fired it up it was running bad , I cleaned the carb , replaced the the rubber paddles and it ran like a top , I also pulled the side cover off to make sure the belt was good, which it was, I thought I was good to go until I seen your video so I decided to pull the side cover off again and low and behold that pulley
that was the topic of your video was good but the screw was loose , you saved me a ton of problems, you’re a life saver because I’m getting to old to be hand shoveling my big driveway, I can’t thank you enough.
One of the best DIY videos I've seen. Great job. Thank you.
Excellent video.. well broken down
Thanks for watching!
Great work with easy to follow advice all the way around. I look forward to your uploads.
The toro, saved one from going to the dump! It blows surprisingly well , even in a foot of snow. I like it, it was added to the fleet. Nice video, explained well, I never thought about shear pins because it blew so well.
Great video, very informative and well done. I love how you inspected the auger drive shaft for damage, and talked about proper torque on the pulley bolt and compressing the Bellville tension washer.
This was very helpful today I did what said. Snowblower runs like a champ now
Another great video well explained quality lighting and sound great stuff thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Excellent job!
thank you for your videos
Nice little repair!
One honest man !
Thanks for watching!
Good mechanic and good partsourcing. Toro is well sourced.
Thanks for watching!
always good with explaining the process of things thanks
Thanks for watching!
As always, good clear information. Thanks Jake. RIck
Thanks for watching Rick!
Another good one!
Thanks for watching!
Looks like you are still busy with snow blower repairs. Very well explained and good job!!!
Yes for now, by next week we'll probably start the transition to lawnmowers!
My 2011 221QZR could probably use a new belt. Great tutorial. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Great video Jake! You also got a parts machine with alot of good parts. 👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
Love some extra parts, thanks for watching!
Great Video . Eric O at South Main auto just posted cable repair on this exact machine at same time . Both vids are great
Thanks for watching!
Gave you thumbs up for the comment "never trust someone else work". Sad but true. . Tear that CCR apart to see what failed. It'll make s Great video.
Thanks, and yes one day I'll get to it and see what happened. I have 2 other briggs engines with snapped connecting rods that were going to make 1 good one and fix up a personal snowblower for myself.
Easy Peasy Repair!
It's nice to get these jobs, thanks for watching!
Good day Boy interesting video. I hope he doesn't need to use it anymore. Thanks
Yes hopefully warmer weather soon!
Great video! I washed another video on the 721E and they showed a hidden dipstick that is hard to get to that was loose and dripping oil. Doesn’t the owners spaniel say to check the oil without screwing it in.? Thanks again for a great and informative video..
Would you know what extension springs I need on a TORO CCR 2000e clutch assembly and where they connect ? I see two on the exploded view but placement is not pictured .
On average how often do you recommend replacing the belt? Thanks for the video
Well at least you have a easy repair job there Young Man
This one went by smoothly, thanks for watching!
@@EliminatorPerformance yee you did had it made in the shade
Awesome video! Very well explained and I like the fact that you also use anti-seize. My only question is did you also use it on the bolts for the cover? I assume you did but didn't show that.
Just got a 180 donated to me from the neighbor but unfortunately mine is in need of apparently the tensioner spring and maybe a new belt. It was working fine the weekend before in 5 minutes today but then was bogging down with hardly any snow! I took it apart after watching a similar video and did not see the tensioner spring that was in their video. So I think that's where my problem lies. What was funny is there wasn't even a single piece anywhere.
Antiseize everywhere on snowblowers lol especially because I service these machines year after year. Just makes it easier to work on next time!
Which belt do you think is better? The cogged original belt or the replacement. Good video. Thanks. I also love the never seize on many things, it makes life easier.
Clogged help with heat dissipation so they're technically better
I have this same model wet snow I have to keep chute straight to throw snow if I move it to side it won’t throw snow clogs up any suggestions thanks
That's the issue with the single stages, not much you can do other than make sure the auger belt has proper tension, and your flaps are in good condition
@@EliminatorPerformance is there a way to adjust belt tension? I have a new 721e and it chirps briefly upon engagement. Is that normal?

Is it possible that the impeller pulley was designed to act like a shear pin?
It's quite possible, or the key was designed to shear. But then it would've made more sense if toro sold the metal hub separately. Then you just press out the old hub and install the new one.
Finally a nice and easy repair but putting those paddles on can be a real job especially the last one beside the auger housing eh?
Yes, will have to do a video on that next year if we get some more in. Thanks for watching!
Wayne - I just posted a question above to Nate and it’s addressed to you both.
But where is the linear expansion multiplexer mounted ?
Next to the flux capacitor
The blowups forgot to include the flux capacitor. Dammit
The older 2 stroke Toro throwers were better machines
A lot of things where better years ago. Heck back then we even put men on the moon.
Jake do you and Wayne have any experience retrofitting a scavenged snowblower front end onto a lawn tractor? I now have 4 tractors and 3 blowers and I’d like to cannibalize the ones I’m not going to fix up to sell to make one really good dedicated snowtractor and one really good mower. I’m still searching for a video that shows how to do this and explains the details of the geometry and connections involved. I’m also going to post this query to Arch and Don since you’re the three channels I watch who are the experts in this area. Thanks! 👍🔧🧰❄️
No, I've never worked on them and usually would not. The issue with the snowblower attachments for riding lawn mowers is they throw belts or burn them out because the operator usually drives too fast or tries to throw too much snow. I've even been offered jobs to hook them up for people here and there, and I've always said we're not interested.
Eliminator Performance Understood. Don’t blame you.
@@Rein_Ciarfella Basically the same as Jake these are a real issue with belts. Also hard on the drive system of the rider.
Wayne Stefinashen Thanks for getting back to me. This is one of the things I appreciate about EP - you both take your valuable time to respond to comments. 👍🔧🧰❄️
@@Rein_Ciarfella Your welcome but it would be impossible it we got the number of comments some of the bigger subbed channels have
