I will, thanks. Merry Christmas.
Donyboy73.. Is there any easy way to replace the left hand Auger? How to do that on this type of machine?
Pulling the recall gently while installing the belt was a good tip! Again, Donny shows us how we can repair such things ourselves and save a ton of money. Excellent views in this video, too.
Usually what gets me is the news paper that was covered with 10 inches of snow and it just jams everything up, happy holidays! Or the roll pin on the impeller gives out
We need more Honda snowblowers on this channel
This guy will make you like a mechanical genius. He has taught and saved me a ton of money with small engines and snowblowers. Thank you Donyboy for sharing your expertise it is well appreciated. You are truly the best!
Getting ready for a big snowfall here in southern Ontario, and my snowblower is ready and in perfect condition thanks to all the videos of yours I’ve watched over the years.
Still waiting? We got rain. Been predicting big winds but they haven't materialized either, yet.
Good day I am from Kitchener Waterloo area yes we will have to wait. Were are from ? Thanks
@@donvoll2580 Hamilton. Winds and snow all day.
Always enjoy watching and listening to your videos. I have learned alot.
No Toro here, but wish you guys the best for the Holidays. Thanks for your channel!!!
I've always marvelled at how snowblowers can seem brainlessly simple and ingenious at the same time. I've been cajoling my MTD machine for over 20 years. Pretty much the same design as this.
Thanks for sharing your videos. I think your "How To Diagnose & Repair A Generator With No Spark - Ignition Module Replacement" was one of the best on the internet!
Such a great video Don! I have the same machine and I know now exactly how to do it. You are so good in explaining the details. So easy to follow. Top man!
great video, I know exactly how I screwed up my Toro and what I need to do to fix it. Mystery solved, thank you.
I don't own a snow blower but you have the best videos Donnie. great lighting & best instructions. Merry Christmas to you & yours! 👍👍
Comme toujours Donald, vous pratiquez les 3 « C »: clair, concis et complet. Merci et Joyeux Noël !
merci Daniel
nice vid.......quick clear no wasted jibber jabber like so many other videos.........thanks.............
So I guess when the frozen melted snow in the impeller housing melts, it drips out, but the belt has already be ruined. I say that because you didn't work with the impeller. If so, that's why all you had to do was replace the belt, make sure it's tensioned correctly, be sure the auger doesn't turn on idle, and you're done. Excellent step-by-step procedure with full detailed explanations. Great job, Don! You know all the tricks.
We've got a hard freeze on here in Central Louisiana for tonight and the next 2-3 days, but I don't see snow in the forecast. It's 19 °F out right now with a 16° low forecast Friday morning, but still below freezing for a few days. Even if it snows, it usually doesn't stick, though staying below freezing could make this one of those odd years. Snow about every 7 years had been the norm. Stay warm and safe, and Thanks.
Dony just would like to wish you and your family along with all your viewers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Well done on this one sir!
Thanks! This was very helpful. I changed the strap very easily.
Glad it helped!
I like this design on the Toro snowblower as far as changing the belts. I find it easier and way faster than the old style.
Merry Christmas Don,
I've seen many cases of people ignoring this important step - clearing the auger/impeller housing when done using their machine. A damaged belt is the lesser type of damage. Other issues could be damaged augers, broken shear bolts (not too bad) and the worst - gearbox failures.
Very helpful video - helped me get our unit back up and throwing snow
This video is gold. I replaced the belt on my 826 today, and my heart sank when I could slide the belt by hand over the pulleys with the auger lever depressed and the tensioner engaged. Glad I watched further in this video, seeing the alternate tensioner mount hole and cable adjustment. I assume the the non-OEM replacement belt is somewhat out of spec. I will try the cable adjustment first. Thanks a million!
Toro must have hired new engineer. That is a hard way to change a belt. Good job Don
Its called accountant designer.
Great video as usual Don. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and family!
Well first of all “Merry Christmas!”, and thank you for helping me again and again with your excellent videos (for the past 10+ years). You are the BEST!
I just bought this snowblower last year. Great snowblower, thanks for the video!
The other day I checked out your video on how to adjust the carburetor on my snowblower. It was very helpful. Thanks
I appreciate it very much. I'm buying one next month, I'll be ready for the coming winter. My winter starts around October , end of October every , I'm in Washington State then like I said, thank you.
Merry Christmas and thank you for these super informative videos. I don't own a Toro but it's applicable to what I have to look out for when replacing the belt. Thank you!!!!
Merry Christmas Dony! Thank you for your expertise.
Don is such a good guy If I was closer (in Ottawa) I would love to be a customer of his! And if I could fix it myself Id drop him off some beer because it was probably one of his videos that helped me do it!
Merry Christmas Sir and thanks for the helpful vid's
Don,
Simple approach to a common problem, excellent video yet again! Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video. Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
Merry Christmas to you and your family young man 👍😎 be safe out there in the snow ❄️
Merry Christmas Don to you and your family thanks for all you do
Hey Don excellent video as always really like how you explained as you go. Don you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year.
This 21 inch cut Bolens I'm engine swapping is the coolest snowblower I've found at the dump so far but I'm wondering if it's a rebadged Toro as it's red under the green. It has a Peerless transmission and a cast iron auger housing but what's really unique is the Tecumseh has a crank pulley and a camshaft pulley like the Ariens I had a few years back that I don't think was a real Ariens. Anyways, great video and Merry early Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.
Merry Christmas, also thank you for the video I have the same snowblower I always like it when someone does a video of equipment that I own. The one issue I have with that snowblower is the slow gear is not slow enough to get the deep snow. I used to have an Arians and I wish I had it back because it had a slow 1st gear to get deep snow.
Good day Don Good video. Merry Christmas & happy new yr. Thanks
Excellent video. Very clear and concise.
You have to be careful about these units. The shrouds on these units are plastic and they can break if you make a mistake and put stones through the impeller.
Craaaaack!!
Thanks for that video on toro s/b !
Nicely done!
Very good detailed video. I have this particular model of Toro and really like it. Vastly improved over the old light duty non-Toro I bought in 1989. I have had no problems with my Toro, but the owners manual doesnt say anything about how to replace the belt. This video is excellent. My only suggestion is that there should be a drain on the fuel tank or carb. This would make off season storage more convenient. Its Been a handy machine where I live in Idaho. Were getting plenty of snow. Always fires right up and hasn't clogged yet. Merry Christnas to all.
Good video buddy very useful information thanks for sharing take care and Merry Christmas
Great knowledge, thanks
Another great video, thanks bud!
Thanks D, great video
Good tech session!
hi 👋 Don thank you 🙏 for sharing sir i just wanted to wish you a very merry Christmas 🎁 & a healthy & happy 😃 & safe new year brother 😀😀
Cutting a path out back last year, I picked up some frozen leaves under the snow and it sheared the impeller fan bolts on my New Toro 826 I don't have a garage so not much fun replacing those in -7degC weather. In the previous 25 years I never sheared impeller bolts on my Yardmachines 26". I sheared Auger bolts - Yes, but Impeller fan bolts - never. Funny thing my HD 826 powermax Toro advertises no shear bolts on the HD version. Not in love with the Toro, but its a tool and I can get the job done. So for me, it wasn't the belt.
Happy Christmas Don to you and yours
love your video's so much great information...
Great video
His advice on getting the auger to stop if it keeps spinning was a bit simplistic. If you’ve adjusted the spring bolt or move the pulley, there’s also an adjustment procedure for the auger brake system, which actually was shown briefly underneath as the thing he was holding away from the larger pulley down there. Both the belt apply pulley and the auger brake are tied together thru linkage and need to be checked and adjusted together.
Well that don't look so hard nice one sir ! Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks!
Thank you for your support!
👍👍👍 Christmas wishes to you and your family.
We just had a 12 year old craftsman made by ayp left at church dumpster. Engine started fine but it would start blowing but then stop throwing the snow. Belt looked too loose. I looked it up. 5/8 x 37.6. I had an Oregon belt which had the ayp part number but cardboard said it was 5/8x38. It measured 37.5. I put it on. Haven't tried blowing but belt is clearly not as loose. I expect po put a generic 5/8 x 38 on it. I has to tap a stripped hole and electric starter plug is broke and need to fix a cover bolt. But has a 1550 briggs on it that starts and runs fine.
I have the same looking one with a carburetor serge at high and low and drilled the black cap out and still doing it. I always put no ethical in since I get it .But now i looked in the carburetor super clean checked the jet with float looks good then drilled the black peace out but still doing it. Do you think it is the governor under the cover where the throttle is . The thrower sitting outside with cover over it. I never had a problem intill now ?😮
Thanks for sharing this! I got as far as the step where I'm trying to get the new belt onto the motor pulley, and I realized I might have a bigger problem. The auger pulley doesn't spin at all. In your video it looks like it spins freely. Do you think that means my gearbox is shot? I'm probably going to bring it in to my local shop. They're great, it's just a pain to get the snowblower there.
Nice job on the video as usual. Love the channel. Do you already have a video that shows how to replace drive and auger belts for snow throwers similar to large Husqvarna or Jonsered blowers that you can refer me to? If not, would love it if you can do a video on that when/if you get one of those in the shop. Also, do you have a video showing how to do seasonal service on the auger spindle. Cheers, and happy holidays to you and yours.
yes i do, go to my channel page and do a search
Hi Don,with the replacement fo the belt it is clear, but how to adjist the belt tension?
I have a toro power max 828le that needs an auger belt,Is it the same install as your video
What is the best way to replace a left hand auger on this type of unit? I ran into a piece of rebar, and bent the right side... looking for a replacement video on how to do it.. or tips. :)
Thanks for your video. Just one question.. How do you know that the belt is damaged??
Can you use auger sheer bolts, instead of the non-sheer OEM bolts, so that the sheer bolts can help prevent other damage like a traditional snow blower design?
@donboy73 I replaced the belt just like you showed in the video. The auger (the back device which throws the snow) turns when engaging the lever, but as soon as the auger encounters snow it stops turning. Any ideas?
I need to replace the impeller on this model. What is the best way to remove the impeller pulley? Is there enough room from below to remove the impeller pulley bolt?
Donyboy73, good morning i own a simplicity snowblower pro series 1732, model 1695667 , I have about 3/4 of an inch back an forth play in the shaft which moves in and out of the gear box I think that’s to much play I don’t want to destroy my gear box. I need to get the impeller pulley off from the shaft so I can pull the auger and the impeller out the front of the snowblower so I can get the gearbox apart to see if something is broken in it. I am having trouble getting the pulley off from the shaft not much room do you have any suggestions. Thanks Charlie
Hey Donny, I’ve got a Craftsman 30” 357cc snowblower, a 2005. I need to replace the drive and auger belts. Is craftsman the same as an MTD? And would this video apply to mine. Thanks from Alaska. Glenn
Hey Dony.. Merry Christmas. I have a new craftsman snowblower. Not even a year old. Used it yesterday and it’s surging. Do I need to rebuild it? Or will it clear itself?
👍
Off topic question. Husqvarna snow blower. Drive wheels. Cog maintenance. Dry or wet grease?
Love the video! I've got a Power Max 724 OE and only one side of the auger is working. Is this a belt issue since one side is still working?
Probably just a shear pin.
Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow...
The 120-3892 was 39.5 inches . The belt I took off was 41 inches . Impossible for me to get the belt on as it’s just too short .
I'm so thankful we don't need those things in SC.
If I have a an older blower that doesnt have a light on it is there away to wire one in?
if a wire comes out from under the flywheel to power it then you probably can
Is there a video showing how to do the drive belt for this machine?
not yet but if another one comes in I'll make a video
Is toro making its blowers ? Some toro riding mowers are made by mtd.
yes so far it looks like they are made by Toro themselves
How do I stop my arien from surging
ua-cam.com/video/tfWNXsH2CVo/v-deo.html
In my experience it won't burn the belt out - it will kill the snowblower. 😂
I really need to talk to you, like as soon as possible, what is the fastest way ?
what do you need?
What's the other pulley and tensioner for on this unit?
Probably for the drive wheels. The power for them has to come from somewhere.
@@mtcman42 There was no belt on that pulley
@@richardwernst My bad. I guess the belt and tensioner shown at 1:27-1:53, 3:20-3:25 and again at 3:43-4:03 must be for something else. In my 20 years plus of working on snow blowers, I always thought the belt closest to the engine was for the drive wheels and the one closest to the augers was for the augers, but I may have missed something on this model. Please let me know where the pulleys with the missing belt are and I will try to figure out what I missed, Thanks.
it's to tension the drive belt
@@mtcman42 Ah, I think you're right. The belt is so black, looked to me like the pulley was empty, and the tensioner so far over, same thought but closer looking at 3:20 seems more like there is a belt there and as you mentioned, most likely for the drive.
Oh boy, after this I really looking forward to end of the World to come! Single piece snowblower (accountant design). After Windows 11 this is second piece of sh..t that I saw last week. God bless 80s and 90s.
I suggest you name this snowblower 'Megan'.
lol
its lever not leaver!
I thought it was leeeeever 😂
@@donyboy73 😂 lol!!
@@Bill-xc8le english is not my first language
Why would they weld the whole thing together what a joke. Also that access panel is total crap plastic and should be metal. That's why my old MTD is still going
@@Rein_Ciarfella plastic cower will not rust, yes but who knows how will perform in freezing temperatures? Maybe will be more fragile and sensitive do impacts?
