He brought up her mother unnecessarily knowing it's her weak point and even mentioned that he should've gone to see her though her own daughter didn't. He was insulting to the very end and wanted to get in every kind of jab possible. I didn't believe him for a second no matter how many tears he shed on his pasty a$$ face.

@@Nancy-zi6kd Pi-Young’s mom was selfish and chose to separate her daughter from her father because of an affair that had nothing to do with the father-daughter relationship that he and Pi-Young so wanted to maintain. Pi-Young’s scars and hurt were valid. It’s unfortunate when people pass away before you can resolve things, which is exactly what happened to Pi-Young and her father, but that doesn’t mean it’s right to judge Pi-Young for being a bad daughter when her mother didn’t exactly make for the greatest mother. As a spouse, especially one who is claiming to love his wife still, you have to abstain from hurting the other person with their weak points. Pi-Young didn’t choose her family and hurt because she was hurt. That doesn’t make her a bad person; it makes her a product of her mother’s, father’s and her own choices. It’s not for others to weaponize that hurt as we see fit because we’re angry. He had no reason to take the gloves off - especially since he was trying to convince her to not divorce him. If anything, it proves she shouldn’t stay married to a man who is willfully hurtful because he can’t get his way.
Episode 12 seemed like it would never end ( never ending loop)… but completely agree that this is how discussions like this unfold - very very repetitive but necessary…so writers nailed it……Pi-young was admirable and unwavering. Acting really was incredible… The writers are hilarious for the naked swimming ghost scene 😂 blurred out body parts was laugh out loud .. Episode 12 seems to point to Season 3 being a pipe dream 😥… was hoping to see Pi-young marry Mr. Seo and have him prove her wrong that men are animals…maybe we will be left with this as a road they will take.. Amazing series and these reviews have just added to the enjoyment!!👏👍🙏

Why do I have a feeling that Yushin is actually playing reverse pyschology? Making Pi Young push for the divorce so that when he decides to stay with A Mi it doesnt look like he abandoned his wife and daughter for a younger woman, but his wife divorced him and he fell in love with her. Yushin is a very scary character! Someone all women should fear. He is in the wrong but still wants to control the script of how his family should end. He is such a smooth talker and can easily get away with anything. Remember he broke up with A Mi telling her she should focus on her career and find someone else. At the same time she could wait for him 2-3, 5 years tops to divorce his wife and come to her??!! Then comes to beg his wife to forgive him and try to make the marriage work? This is insane.
I like the show. I think Yu-Sin is the worst of all the husbands. He justifies everything he does and he is flirtatious even with his step mother. Pi-Young is the type of wife any man should want. I hope she divorced him.
If she divorce him will that remedy what happened? Also the same thing her mom did to her and not getting a fatherly bring up is what she's about to do to her daughter. Why should good fathers lose their kids because they are not good husbands. Shouldn't children be left out of that?
I think they showed the ghost of the father to confirm that Yushin's father was not an angel after all, DongMi keep talking how good her late husband was and Yushin should follow his father's example. But actually DongMi did not know that Yushin"s actually inherited his father's character. The father must also like young women, he married DongMi which younger than him and Yushin once said that his real mom hated him, maybe he himself a product of the doctor's infidelity. I think Yushin relented about divorce after knowing how PY found out abt his affair. All this while he thought that maybe PY believe what HR said, he did not know that PY saw him with Ami with her own eyes.

But fr tho Yu-sin is something special. He says he loves his wife and wants to wash his hands of Ami yet still keeps entertaining her. Its clear that he’s just greedy and wants to have his cake and eat it too, its actually funny if not sad. Edit: I do personally think Dong-mi genuinely sides with Pi-Young, despite being jealous and obsessive over her step-son, i think her identity as a woman and a wife is clearing her judgement. She’s a little conflicted but hopefully she chooses pi young at the end of the day
If Yushin would of just hugged her and sincerely taken accountabily instead of execuses maybe it would of soften Pi young's heart. Dongmi and her ghost husband are two peas in a pod, very disturbing.
Do you remember her shudder when he hugged her after she could finally talk. He knew to touch her would end all hope of forgiveness. Every time Pi Young looks at him she sees him in A Mi arms. It is going to take time plus she will have a fling before they can get back together. Just because they divorce doesn’t mean they can’t remarry. Could happen?!
He completely betrayed her. I don’t get how she can look at him the same ever after the fact he completely fooled her on the kind of person he was. I don’t even think it’s the cheating alone that broke her, I think it’s blatant fact he was not at all the man she thought he was all these years that is finally revealed to her. She really thought he was a sweet and loyal husband.

@Josette Olivera. I think the show is showing us some realistic marriage situations. I don’t think it’s saying it’s okay to cheat. Maybe just that there are a combination of reasons why some people do including some that make sense and some that absolutely don’t. I don’t think it’s teaching anyone that cheating is okay plus it’s not even over yet… Do you live somewhere where there’s no cheating or no one gets divorced? I’m not being cynical…I’m genuinely curious..
@josette I don’t agree that it justifies or encourages any such things. It does, however, shed light on the hardships that may come in relationships. Unlike “fairytale endings” we’re encouraged to aspire to, this show is more in line with what one may very well face. The truth hurts! The actress who played Piyoung is just amazing. I cry so much during this episode that I had a headache after. Yes this drama is amazing 😊and I learn that I shouldn't love a man more than God (in my case)and myself.
Men and women are wired differently, but are both human beings with the same desires and motivations. Women were ordered not to show it and are just beginning to steadily claim them back, but fundamentally we are all the same. To claim, from a psychiatrist's view point, that all men cheat is utterly horrifying. Not all men cheat and not all women accept it and move on, nor should they have to do so. These archaic principles that Yu-Shin was so arrogantly demanding Pi-Young follow are problematic, but prevalent even in today's society. They date back hundreds, and maybe even a thousand years, so to expect that all men don't hold these views simply because it's 2021 is ridiculous. HOWEVER, nothing gives him the right to mansplain, patronize, berate and hold his wife's weak points against her. Yu-Shin tried to convince his wife that she belonged to a different species, she was weak, she was immature for being unable to forgive his affair, she was unworthy of being married to him because she was the child of a single mother, she was a toy, she would be a bad mother that would not be setting a good example of a woman and wife to her daughter, she was a bad and disrespectful daughter who caused her mother to die early, and that she isn't better than women that are seemingly better off than her who still managed to forgive their husbands' transgressions. A person that brings up all your weaknesses and traumas to defend their despicable actions isn't deserving of further conversation. Pi-Young says she doesn't care for him anymore, but she clearly does or she would've walked out, hired a lawyer and proceeded with the divorce in a different manner. I still appreciate her standing her ground on the divorce even though she wavered between rage, pain, hurt, guilt, self-loathing, self-blame and sympathy the entire conversation. She gets the divorce that she demanded and gets a chance at living life without the trappings of attaining perfection anymore. There is no such thing, as she discovered. It did hurt me to watch as the person who she loved and knew to be a good man for 13 years just sit there and destroy Pi-Young's self-esteem throughout the course of the conversation. Even till the very end, Yu-Shin threw in a jab that she didn't go to see her mother more often and that was the final insult that caused her to fall to the ground. Even in his final apology, he so very clearly wanted to hurt his wife for daring to divorce him for such a minor act of selfishness. I've said it before, but Yu-Shin is less than human and there's a special drama hell for characters like him and a special place in real hell for people like him who prey on people's weaknesses and hold it over their heads when the opportune moment strikes for them. He's arrogant (even when he was kneeling with his hands by his hips) - like Aizen-level arrogance. He's a narcissist, sociopath and he's in need of more medical care than all his patients combined. He essentially admitted to being manipulative of A-Mi's need for a father figure in her life and basically that he preyed on those emotions to make himself feel wanted and needed. Disgusting. I am proud of Pi-Young for saying the things that most of us probably wish we could say to the people that betray us and I don't hold it against her that she caved at moments because we are only human. A person like Yu-Shin wouldn't have been able to get a word in with me in real life because he would've never been given the opportunity, but I know not all of us are like that and I respect her for not caving when she had moments of sympathy for what he was saying to her. If the preview is real and he brought A-Mi to the house, then we know that was what Yu-Shin would do from the beginning because he literally strung her along while telling everyone different stories about the status of his relationship with her because this kind of creature always needs options. Since A-Mi wanted him, I hope she gets him, and I hope Dong-Mi gets her turn, as well. Evil should be with evil to spare the rest of us who are just trying to be good people.
Excellent! I do feel for the first time they told each other truths about themselves. Do we know for sure he brought A Mi to the house? She had the nerve to go to Pi Young maybe because she went to his house and he told her it is really over ?
@@zulthor8453 I don’t see it that way at all. Furthest from it. There was nothing in his words that indicated she did the right thing. And right thing about what? Her mom? Staying in the marriage? Your statement isn’t really clear on what said right thing is supposed to be. Either way, anyone who was intently paying attention to their discussion would know those were not his intentions at all. He belittled her, weaponized her pain and criticized how she chose to handle her relationship with her mother on top of insulting her by calling her weak, immature, too proud when he doesn’t make much money, a toy, etc. Oh and he also managed to let her know that if it wasn’t for his money, she would look like an old hag… That was a nice touch. That is the last thing a loving spouse who is trying to fix his marriage should do to his wife. You’re welcome to of course see this as you fit, but there’s no wool or rose-colored glasses over my eyes. I see people exactly as they are, not as they should be.
The ghost father is still lingering around to expose that Dongmi had a hand in his death. She had been slowly poisoning him and while he suffered the heart attack that took his life, she was laughing and smiling and the late doc realized then that his beloved wife was cruel and planing to eliminate him. He died a painful death and soon Yushin will know the truth about Dongmi and realize how messed up his own life was. He will then miss Pi Young who held him grounded with a lot of love and respect.
Anyone notice Yu-sin finally gets real….he totally admits he is a narcissist and just craves attention and validation from everyone….and then Pi-young says well that means you will continue to cheat….it’s habitual your activity to get that validation. The logic between the 2 literally is everything we were thinking…my goodness this writer lives in my head.
My predictions on how it will unfold. Yu shin life will spiral out of control and will start drinking heavily to get over his wife. Pi young will find out she is pregnant and it was from the surprise night at the hotel. I believe he does truly love her and not A Mi. A Mi will show her true colours and will attack anyone who gets in her way trying to get Yu shin. Dongmi will be the 1st on her hit list. Yu shin will realise how crazy she is and the danger that his ex wife and daughter are in all because of him and this is when he will be truly sorry for what he did. They will get councilling and get together as a family. Young couple will stay together but the reason Hye ryou can't fall pregnant will be because of her husband who after tests finds out he can't have children. Song won will then confess she slept with her ex husband or someone and Sa Hyeon parents will be embarrassed that they chose the mistress over the daughter in law. As for Hae roon his wedding day will approach and he will be a little sad that his kids won't come but it doesn't matter because he is so happy about starting life and family but he will get a shock when Ga Bin leaves him at the alter. Text message with an apology but he was a rebound. Mean while Seo Ban is with Si eun and her children eating ice cream at a park haha.... Hae roon will realise what he has lost forever. So these are my predictions 😄😂

This episode give us insight of a psychologist cheater’s chauvinistic, well researched excuses. He was angry at the end for failing to convince the wife to forgive him. All the “loving her till the end” declaration are nothing but air.
Love your recaps!! Lol, Yu Sin the android.🤣 Ep 12 was heartbreaking and infuriating. Did he finally realize exactly how badly he hurt his wife at the end??? Is he even capable of that?? Ep 13 preview looks like he wasn't sincere. So glad she stood her ground and is letting go. All 3 ladies will be fine without those men but after 2 seasons, I really want to see all 6 of the adulterers feel pain, as much as what their spouses did so they will finally realize it all.

You hit all the best points. I agree while not a lot of action the talk is super realistic. After 13 yrs you don’t just peace out. I also like that it shows the outrageous shit people say or think when they are WRONG. It sounds crazy listening but this is how people act. Crazy episodes even crazier preview for next weekend.
I'm so conflicted by this episode. Seriously, Yu-shin is an excellent psychologist, he had me convinced to forgive him at the end. But looking at the preview and I also saw a picture of Dr. and A mi taking wedding pics, maybe he gave into A mi and her parents, or maybe the whole trying to convince Pi-young was just a ruse and he wants the hot young thing or he may be a man who can't be unmarried? Who knows?. But, I wonder why A mi's still asking to meet with Pi-young, if she and her husband are divorced? I just hope that Pi-young can find true happiness, but it looks like Mr. Seo is going to end up with Sa Hyun's 'baby mama' (which would be so good for him, the spoilt brat!) But, did we forget the fact that A mi's Dad was trying to come on to her and make her his mistress? Wow! It's a good thing Doc. got to her first, or she would have really be screwed up!

Yu Shin you're not a King from the Joseon Dynasty. You don't get to have a wife/queen and a concubine or two. That whole begging scene was way too long to me. Excellent acting! Love this show!
Episode 12 was a lot! Like you said kudos to the actors that was a lot of lines and to keep the raw emotions going was job well done! “Android leaking” that hilarious! I always wondered why he always have the same look, no emotions too much Botox maybe 😂

Loved episode12 felt real and amazing acting especially from the actress playing Pi young , I feel that if he had used less excuses for his cheating it might have had more of a effect on his wife, but we are not talking about a one night stand it went on for a year and that is i think impossible to forgive and forget ! well done Pi young made the right decision and total respect to her.
I think the reason why that scene with Yu-shin and Pi-young felt like it was dragging on is because there was no movement between the two characters. Compare it to the scene in the movie Marriage Story - only 2 characters, husband & wife but they were moving around the house, getting in eachothers faces. There was that push & pull between them which I felt this scene lacked.
Hye ryung once wanted a divorce and now doesn’t, even after he got the girl pregnant. His family wants to divorce hye ryung but for some reason I think something in her broke honestly and she doesn’t see that she isn’t loved nor truly cared for by her husband and in laws. Her situation is annoying and sad to watch because she will now do her best to keep a man who’s weak minded and has a BABY on the way with someone else. I think yu shin would appreciate a women like hye ryung because in his mind women eventually forgive there husband infidelity because life his hard and we are flawed. Pi young has lived a prideful life , like she said her relationship was envied by others and so she worked hard to never get a divorce. She is her mom in the sense that, heart break is real but yu shin is wrong if he thinks she’s her mothers mirror image. She isn’t vengeful she doesn’t with wish ill will towards a min or yu shin, she said plan your life together. Pi young never said she would keep his daughter away , she wants him in her life. Pi young realized her self worth and I love that she choose healing from the inside out and she has a lot of regret and hurt concerning her mother, so she should try healing that as much as possibly, she was just a kid who missed her dad and she hated and misjudged her mother. It’s heavy so she shouldn’t have to comprise her mentally growth and happiness to appease her husband, she choose her daughter , her self, and mental happiness.
I really want seo dong ma to love hye ryoung , her situation is annoying no-one likes her she deserves someone to show her what is love then she would definitely divorce her cheating husband
I don't know if it was a conscientious decision or not, but Song Won's dress and Seo Ban's tie matched... Please tell me this isn't a real couple the writers are shipping. Also, am I the only one confused and a bit disturbed by him wanting to see the baby of a woman he met once?

@@elizabethbesco4758 I think Sa-Hyeon is too immature to be in a relationship. He chose an affair before actually communicating his needs with his wife. Hae-Ryung is immature, as well, as someone who's grown up mainly without adult presence in her life, but Sa-Hyeon has and he chose to spit in the face of his "family values" anyway. There is no innocent in that marriage and I do believe a woman willing to cheat with a married man to prove she can have children and a man who chose the selfishness and simplicity of an affair rather than the hard work it takes to communicate with your wife and work on your marriage definitely deserve each other. So, yes, in that respect, I do want these two immoral and characterless individuals to end up together so Hye-Ryung can find herself outside of her marriage and learn to be a better communicator. Sa-Hyeon clearly only ever wanted a mom, so now he gets to have two! Yay! :)

Yu-sin was using every excuse in the book to try to get Pi-young not to divorce him. You can't blame the guy for trying. I honestly was thinking he brought up some good points, mostly the ones regarding Jia and them trying to salvage the marriage because of her. However, in the end I agreed with Pi-young as she stated that if there is no trust between them, the marriage should be dissolved. Thanks for the review.
I absolutely loved this episode. Was it repetitive and long? Yes, but it's also realistic. Having been in a situation with a cheating fiance, I too found myself in a similar conversation. It's as if you want to just purge your heart of every question you have and every hurtful word because you know that when the conversation ends, the relationship is irrevocably changed and the opportunity to say what you feel will not present itself again as the healing process begins and you both move on. My one criticism is that I wish they would have included more from PY's perspective and verbalized more than just the trust that was damaged by the affair. In my case, and many others, your self-esteem takes a beating. You find yourself imagining them with the other person and comparing yourself to them. Also wish she would have emphasized that her not taking him back was also a valuable lesson for her daughter in teaching her self-worth. But can I say that the performances of both actors was wonderful. I can see that you seem to think YS's demeanor is rather emotionless, but I was riveted by how this man just compartmentalizes his life (not to mention how he used his experience as a psychiatrist to attack PY's defenses from every possible angle) and manages to seem sincere to both his mistress and his wife. Like I honestly could not figure out if he wanted to truly reconcile with PY or was just trying to get her back for X amount of years like he told AM. At first it seemed he was just lying to AM so that she wouldn't hurt herself, but his conversation with the fellow cheater seemed to indicate that even if PY accepted him, he'd keep sleeping with AM. Like talk about some shady $h!t. This marriage and eventual fallout was what kept me watching the show though. I do not like the replacement actor and find that he playing the role as just an average cheater and lacks that sincere emotional duality that the original one brought to the character.
I appreciate Sa piyong and husband dialogue, they do a great acting, but for one full episode, oh nooooo this is to long for repetitive talk. The writer looks like pro cheater :(
Ep.12 was truly an exceptional episode from the producers and the actors. Yes it was a long, hard to watch until the end, going in circles argument, but it was portrayed so realistically I got the same feeling from a personal experience while watching the episode. Big kudos to Yushin and Piyoung for their performance.
Instead of appealing to PY logic, Doc will stand a better chance of appealing to her heart and beg for her forgiveness. If that doesnt work, just proceed with the filing of the divorce but drag it out so that he can buy time to make amends. If that doesnt work, throw Ami under the bus, by bring Ami to see PY and tell both straight up, that Ami was just a mid life crisis and he choose his wife in the end. Instead, he went all philosophical. Btw is PY a Scorpio?
Honestly I'm starting to be over this. I know we still got 4 episodes left but several things truly bother me. Again I feel like the mistresses are getting away with everything. Yes the husbands are at fault here. Primarily. Still the Disney princess is preparing her wedding singing lalaland... The virgin Mary with unborn baby Jesus is being pursed by the only (seemingly) good man of the show (that REALLY is a story line that pisses me off!!). And the idiot wannabe alien eyes actress is going to have her android cheater for herself. This is annoying. Nope the writers are aware of how frustrating and aggravating it is for viewers and they have hidden a banger twist on episodes 15 and 16. Everybody but the wives needs to go DOWN. PS: Dude you're amazing at depicting and analyzing this. Your perspective is always very accurate and well explained. Please keep doing this with Kdramas. They're so interesting to analyze. The Korean culture aspect makes it even more captivating.

Well I'm happy that I kept watching this drama since season 1 even though it was hella frustrating. Piyoung is right to do whatever she wants, but I want her to give a hard time to Yu Shin and Ami before leaving. I kinda don't like the " pure" heart of Ms. Lee and Haeryung is okay, but I think she should create a beautiful mess in Saeyon' life and leave. He is such an Immature guy I really hate men like him such a mum baby 😤

This show makes me want to never marry. I am sorry but episode 12 is too much talking and not enough action. So do all of the co-workers like Mr. Seo or whatever. I must admit that when his stepmother went crazy, I was like that’s what she gets. Why is the ghost still around if he is not dragging his former wife to HELL? I hope he has a purpose because I am confused.
I enjoyed episode 12, that conversation was so realistic and intense. Yu Shin tried you be smart and mamipulate Pi Young but she Was firmly grounded and I admire her strength. Something inside me however wanted her to forgive him in the end, it seemed he finally realised what he had done wrong and not blame his mistake on biology or common reason. I love this couple, they are like an alpha male and alpha female. Would really like to see them back together in the end. Pi Young needs time to process the betrayal and to forgive him and Yu Shin could use the separation to reflect more on how his actions are not as trivial as he initially thought. PiYoung please forgive your husband for me 😭😂😂

True. I think the Doc might take an extreme position… maybe polar opposite too… either a continual cheat or lay off women altogether… he could try to maintain a facade with A Mi for a bit too. I can’t read his wife well so for now I’ll say she really wants a divorce. The sound engineer guy doesn’t seem too interested in her though but maybe she could pursue him (she already had a dream kissing him) and he could be down for a relationship with her after a bit…
Hehe! Laughing at the part where DJ’s husband might not react well even if she does a 180… 😂 …I think it really depends on how genuine she is. I see some people glossing over her behavior (like it couldn’t contribute to her husband cheating) but I know a couple… in fact, I was in their divorce (I’m an attorney) there was no cheating… but the husband straight up divorced his wife because she was super RUDE… she was rude to his Mom and that was what kicked him into gear. She was extremely pretty, great family background and they had kids …the marriage was only 2 years but he divorced her and got married to someone else 4 years later… and she is still rude to him till today… Genuineness could win the husband over… I think that’s what made him for the other lady, although he is also a lot annoying with his immaturity all over the place…
My exSIL is much like the DJ. She is an ex-ballerina with a wicked sense of humor. They laughed a lot. They had a 20+ relationship. At a low point of my brother’s career, she was unsupportive. He divorced her and she was devastated. Everyone always wondered why they stayed together so long since he was so nice. She kept all the assets and he got all the bills, but he’s happy now. Part of me always wished they would have worked it out, but some things can’t be fixed. I feel the same way about the youngest couple. I think the DJ loves him because staying with him after knowing he fathered a child with another woman is a big deal. Some part of her must be self-aware enough to realize her faults. A true narcissist wouldn’t care and leave.

To me, the show is trying to teach some of us not to be such narcissists in marriage because of our looks, family or personal achievements. It’s very easy to lord some of these things over each other. I think they repeat over and over in the show that DJ’s husband married her for her looks and he himself said he married her because she looked cool at her drumming… those things aren’t enough to sustain a marriage tho… after the marriage, mutual respect and understanding becomes the most desirable thing. You could be with the richest, prettiest or handsomest guy but all that pales in comparison to how they treat you or make you feel each and every day. That will trump everything. I really love this show. My Hubby and I are like the “DJ” couple as in a young marriage… but without the extra drama 😂. Btw like I said I actually think DJ should not really try to change extremely ….(I’m not completely down for her to do a 180 unless she’s really genuine about it) to fit her Husband’s ideal, like having a ‘band aid baby” or neglecting her career, etc. Those kinds of changes are not long term sustainable… and they could have problems again in the future… they could try to have a middle ground and accept each other and compromise when they can.
That lawyer just makes me sick with his childish mannerisms. Ugggghhhhhhh, how quickly the heart forgets with these male characters. To keep Piyoung, Yu sin is practising everything he has studied so far since year one in psychology, the "poor" is trying so hard using all kind of excuses, but Thanks Piyoung didn't move on her decision. I want this guy to suffer all kind of things and Ami too. FIGHTING Piyoung everything is gonna be right show them you can live well without him. I'm someone who is always against divorce, but Yu sin just crossed the line with all his excuses😪
Yu Shin is doing it in reverse psychology..He pretends not wanting to agree on divorce but deep inside its what he wanted the most.Every words and actions he made were all fake.In ep 13 He pretended to be devastated and in deep sorrow when Pi-Young left the house and filed for divorce so that people will look at it that he is the victim and its the wife who abandoned him .
I hate how all the mistress and the cowardly husbands act as if they didn't mean to fall in love. People can have crushes and shit like that which u can't control but love is a whole different level. For feelings to mature into love u need to give it the environment to do so. Both the husband and mistress should have stopped communicating once any one of them felt even a smidge of feelings for the other person. They knew what they were doing the husbands don't wanna take responsibility for their actions and the mistresses are entitled pieces of work that think the world revolves around them.
Why should Yu-sin lose his daughter. His wife went through the same thing and the reason she hated her mother and she's now doing the same thing. In reality most women are like that. Why should a good father lose his children because things didn't work out between him and his wife. He might be a good father but a bad husband.

Pi-young forgot all the stuff she said to her mother about divorcing her father and the terrible impact it had on her young life. I don't think she should divorce her handsome, rich husband but make him suffer a little. He needs to be more remorseful and get rid of the mistress. Pi-young is super hurt because of her hypocrisy. She was living a Disney HEA life and the blinders were taken off. She lost her opportunity to reconcile with her mother and lost her marriage all in one day.
So Won and Mr Seo got married, The doctor turns and alcoholic and his step mom take advantage of it and sleep with him. A mi notices it and kill her. Dog- mi and her last husband ride naked in the pools as a torture for her and pleasure for him. Pi- Young lives with her daughter. the youngest couple will be pretending to act as a good couple but the laywer make the arrangements for the divorce between the doctor and the producer, and he starts dating the producer, and finally he divorces and marry her. Hyreong cant stand it and returns to Canada with her family, the writer is now the producer also of the radio show and remains single as a workalcholic.
I like the show but I think episode 12 was to long and focus to much on one couple. Its hard that we have to wait a whole week for the next show, so please dont focus on one couple next time.

All the guys had romantic thoughts towards the mistresses when they first met/saw them… I can’t remember for the professor but Sa-Hyun definitely kept staring at Song Won at the gym before she even noticed him. He even told his senior at work that ladies at the gym are really sexy. That’s one of the real things about this show… they’re showing us that affairs usually start when one party fantasizes about the other party who is not their wife a lot.

I have to say though kudos to the writers for doing a great job here. I wouldn't have endured it, I would have had to say No means No and walk away. Yu Shin's character is showing true Narc potential there. I have to say the stepmother thing is nauseating. I don't know but seems incestuous. I hope they do season 3.

Pi-Young’s scars and hurt were valid. It’s unfortunate when people pass away before you can resolve things, which is exactly what happened to Pi-Young and her father, but that doesn’t mean it’s right to judge Pi-Young for being a bad daughter when her mother didn’t exactly make for the greatest mother. As a spouse, especially one who is claiming to love his wife still, you have to abstain from hurting the other person with their weak points. Pi-Young didn’t choose her family and hurt because she was hurt. That doesn’t make her a bad person; it makes her a product of her mother’s, father’s and her own choices. It’s not for others to weaponize that hurt as we see fit because we’re angry. He had no reason to take the gloves off - especially since he was trying to convince her to not divorce him. Why do I have a feeling that Yushin is actually playing reverse pyschology? Making Pi Young push for the divorce so that when he decides to stay with A Mi it doesnt look like he abandoned his wife and daughter for a younger woman, but his wife divorced him and he fell in love with her.
Yushin is a very scary character! Someone all women should fear. He is in the wrong but still wants to control the script of how his family should end. He is such a smooth talker and can easily get away with anything.
Remember he broke up with A Mi telling her she should focus on her career and find someone else. At the same time she could wait for him 2-3, 5 years tops to divorce his wife and come to her??!!
Then comes to beg his wife to forgive him and try to make the marriage work? This is insane.

I like the show. I think Yu-Sin is the worst of all the husbands. He justifies everything he does and he is flirtatious even with his step mother. Pi-Young is the type of wife any man should want. I hope she divorced him.

I think they showed the ghost of the father to confirm that Yushin's father was not an angel after all, DongMi keep talking how good her late husband was and Yushin should follow his father's example. But actually DongMi did not know that Yushin"s actually inherited his father's character. The father must also like young women, he married DongMi which younger than him and Yushin once said that his real mom hated him, maybe he himself a product of the doctor's infidelity. I think Yushin relented about divorce after knowing how PY found out abt his affair. All this while he thought that maybe PY believe what HR said, he did not know that PY saw him with Ami with her own eyes.

@Josette Olivera. I think the show is showing us some realistic marriage situations. I don’t think it’s saying it’s okay to cheat. Maybe just that there are a combination of reasons why some people do including some that make sense and some that absolutely don’t. I don’t think it’s teaching anyone that cheating is okay plus it’s not even over yet…

The actress who played Piyoung is just amazing. I cry so much during this episode that I had a headache after. Yes this drama is amazing 😊and I learn that I shouldn't love a man more than God (in my case)and myself.
Men and women are wired differently, but are both human beings with the same desires and motivations. Women were ordered not to show it and are just beginning to steadily claim them back, but fundamentally we are all the same. To claim, from a psychiatrist's view point, that all men cheat is utterly horrifying. Not all men cheat and not all women accept it and move on, nor should they have to do so. These archaic principles that Yu-Shin was so arrogantly demanding Pi-Young follow are problematic, but prevalent even in today's society. They date back hundreds, and maybe even a thousand years, so to expect that all men don't hold these views simply because it's 2021 is ridiculous. HOWEVER, nothing gives him the right to mansplain, patronize, berate and hold his wife's weak points against her. Yu-Shin tried to convince his wife that she belonged to a different species, she was weak, she was immature for being unable to forgive his affair, she was unworthy of being married to him because she was the child of a single mother, she was a toy, she would be a bad mother that would not be setting a good example of a woman and wife to her daughter, she was a bad and disrespectful daughter who caused her mother to die early, and that she isn't better than women that are seemingly better off than her who still managed to forgive their husbands' transgressions. A person that brings up all your weaknesses and traumas to defend their despicable actions isn't deserving of further conversation. Pi-Young says she doesn't care for him anymore, but she clearly does or she would've walked out, hired a lawyer and proceeded with the divorce in a different manner. I still appreciate her standing her ground on the divorce even though she wavered between rage, pain, hurt, guilt, self-loathing, self-blame and sympathy the entire conversation. She gets the divorce that she demanded and gets a chance at living life without the trappings of attaining perfection anymore. There is no such thing, as she discovered. It did hurt me to watch as the person who she loved and knew to be a good man for 13 years just sit there and destroy Pi-Young's self-esteem throughout the course of the conversation. Even till the very end, Yu-Shin threw in a jab that she didn't go to see her mother more often and that was the final insult that caused her to fall to the ground. Even in his final apology, he so very clearly wanted to hurt his wife for daring to divorce him for such a minor act of selfishness. I've said it before, but Yu-Shin is less than human and there's a special drama hell for characters like him and a special place in real hell for people like him who prey on people's weaknesses and hold it over their heads when the opportune moment strikes for them. He's arrogant (even when he was kneeling with his hands by his hips) - like Aizen-level arrogance. He's a narcissist, sociopath and he's in need of more medical care than all his patients combined. He essentially admitted to being manipulative of A-Mi's need for a father figure in her life and basically that he preyed on those emotions to make himself feel wanted and needed. Disgusting. I am proud of Pi-Young for saying the things that most of us probably wish we could say to the people that betray us and I don't hold it against her that she caved at moments because we are only human. A person like Yu-Shin wouldn't have been able to get a word in with me in real life because he would've never been given the opportunity, but I know not all of us are like that and I respect her for not caving when she had moments of sympathy for what he was saying to her. If the preview is real and he brought A-Mi to the house, then we know that was what Yu-Shin would do from the beginning because he literally strung her along while telling everyone different stories about the status of his relationship with her because this kind of creature always needs options. Since A-Mi wanted him, I hope she gets him, and I hope Dong-Mi gets her turn, as well. Evil should be with evil to spare the rest of us who are just trying to be good people.

@@zulthor8453 I don’t see it that way at all. Furthest from it. There was nothing in his words that indicated she did the right thing. And right thing about what? Her mom? Staying in the marriage? Your statement isn’t really clear on what said right thing is supposed to be. Either way, anyone who was intently paying attention to their discussion would know those were not his intentions at all. He belittled her, weaponized her pain and criticized how she chose to handle her relationship with her mother on top of insulting her by calling her weak, immature, too proud when he doesn’t make much money, a toy, etc. Oh and he also managed to let her know that if it wasn’t for his money, she would look like an old hag… That was a nice touch. That is the last thing a loving spouse who is trying to fix his marriage should do to his wife. You’re welcome to of course see this as you fit, but there’s no wool or rose-colored glasses over my eyes. I see people exactly as they are, not as they should be.
The ghost father is still lingering around to expose that Dongmi had a hand in his death. She had been slowly poisoning him and while he suffered the heart attack that took his life, she was laughing and smiling and the late doc realized then that his beloved wife was cruel and planing to eliminate him. He died a painful death and soon Yushin will know the truth about Dongmi and realize how messed up his own life was. He will then miss Pi Young who held him grounded with a lot of love and respect.
Anyone notice Yu-sin finally gets real….he totally admits he is a narcissist and just craves attention and validation from everyone….and then Pi-young says well that means you will continue to cheat….it’s habitual your activity to get that validation. The logic between the 2 literally is everything we were thinking…my goodness this writer lives in my head.
My predictions on how it will unfold.
Yu shin life will spiral out of control and will start drinking heavily to get over his wife. Pi young will find out she is pregnant and it was from the surprise night at the hotel. I believe he does truly love her and not A Mi. A Mi will show her true colours and will attack anyone who gets in her way trying to get Yu shin. Dongmi will be the 1st on her hit list. Yu shin will realise how crazy she is and the danger that his ex wife and daughter are in all because of him and this is when he will be truly sorry for what he did. They will get councilling and get together as a family.
Young couple will stay together but the reason Hye ryou can't fall pregnant will be because of her husband who after tests finds out he can't have children. Song won will then confess she slept with her ex husband or someone and Sa Hyeon parents will be embarrassed that they chose the mistress over the daughter in law.
As for Hae roon his wedding day will approach and he will be a little sad that his kids won't come but it doesn't matter because he is so happy about starting life and family but he will get a shock when Ga Bin leaves him at the alter. Text message with an apology but he was a rebound. Mean while Seo Ban is with Si eun and her children eating ice cream at a park haha.... Hae roon will realise what he has lost forever.

This episode give us insight of a psychologist cheater’s chauvinistic, well researched excuses. He was angry at the end for failing to convince the wife to forgive him. All the “loving her till the end” declaration are nothing but air.

I also like that it shows the outrageous shit people say or think when they are WRONG. It sounds crazy listening but this is how people act. Crazy episodes even crazier preview for next weekend.
I'm so conflicted by this episode. Seriously, Yu-shin is an excellent psychologist, he had me convinced to forgive him at the end. But looking at the preview and I also saw a picture of Dr. and A mi taking wedding pics, maybe he gave into A mi and her parents, or maybe the whole trying to convince Pi-young was just a ruse and he wants the hot young thing or he may be a man who can't be unmarried? Who knows?. But, I wonder why A mi's still asking to meet with Pi-young, if she and her husband are divorced? I just hope that Pi-young can find true happiness, but it looks like Mr. Seo is going to end up with Sa Hyun's 'baby mama' (which would be so good for him, the spoilt brat!) But, did we forget the fact that A mi's Dad was trying to come on to her and make her his mistress? Wow! It's a good thing Doc. got to her first, or she would have really be screwed up!
The wedding pics was just ami’s fancy dream, the writer loves to do this. First time to see kdrama using so much of this.

Yu Shin you're not a King from the Joseon Dynasty. You don't get to have a wife/queen and a concubine or two. That whole begging scene was way too long to me. Excellent acting! Love this show!
Episode 12 was a lot! Like you said kudos to the actors that was a lot of lines and to keep the raw emotions going was job well done! “Android leaking” that hilarious! I always wondered why he always have the same look, no emotions too much Botox maybe 😂

Loved episode12 felt real and amazing acting especially from the actress playing Pi young , I feel that if he had used less excuses for his cheating it might have had more of a effect on his wife, but we are not talking about a one night stand it went on for a year and that is i think impossible to forgive and forget ! well done Pi young made the right decision and total respect to her.
I think the reason why that scene with Yu-shin and Pi-young felt like it was dragging on is because there was no movement between the two characters. Compare it to the scene in the movie Marriage Story - only 2 characters, husband & wife but they were moving around the house, getting in eachothers faces. There was that push & pull between them which I felt this scene lacked.
Hye ryung once wanted a divorce and now doesn’t, even after he got the girl pregnant. His family wants to divorce hye ryung but for some reason I think something in her broke honestly and she doesn’t see that she isn’t loved nor truly cared for by her husband and in laws. Her situation is annoying and sad to watch because she will now do her best to keep a man who’s weak minded and has a BABY on the way with someone else. I think yu shin would appreciate a women like hye ryung because in his mind women eventually forgive there husband infidelity because life his hard and we are flawed. Pi young has lived a prideful life , like she said her relationship was envied by others and so she worked hard to never get a divorce. She is her mom in the sense that, heart break is real but yu shin is wrong if he thinks she’s her mothers mirror image. She isn’t vengeful she doesn’t with wish ill will towards a min or yu shin, she said plan your life together. Pi young never said she would keep his daughter away , she wants him in her life. Pi young realized her self worth and I love that she choose healing from the inside out and she has a lot of regret and hurt concerning her mother, so she should try healing that as much as possibly, she was just a kid who missed her dad and she hated and misjudged her mother. It’s heavy so she shouldn’t have to comprise her mentally growth and happiness to appease her husband, she choose her daughter , her self, and mental happiness.

@@elizabethbesco4758 I think Sa-Hyeon is too immature to be in a relationship. He chose an affair before actually communicating his needs with his wife. Hae-Ryung is immature, as well, as someone who's grown up mainly without adult presence in her life, but Sa-Hyeon has and he chose to spit in the face of his "family values" anyway. There is no innocent in that marriage and I do believe a woman willing to cheat with a married man to prove she can have children and a man who chose the selfishness and simplicity of an affair rather than the hard work it takes to communicate with your wife and work on your marriage definitely deserve each other. So, yes, in that respect, I do want these two immoral and characterless individuals to end up together so Hye-Ryung can find herself outside of her marriage and learn to be a better communicator. Sa-Hyeon clearly only ever wanted a mom, so now he gets to have two! Yay! :)

Yu-sin was using every excuse in the book to try to get Pi-young not to divorce him. You can't blame the guy for trying. I honestly was thinking he brought up some good points, mostly the ones regarding Jia and them trying to salvage the marriage because of her. However, in the end I agreed with Pi-young as she stated that if there is no trust between them, the marriage should be dissolved. Thanks for the review.
I absolutely loved this episode. Was it repetitive and long? Yes, but it's also realistic. Having been in a situation with a cheating fiance, I too found myself in a similar conversation. It's as if you want to just purge your heart of every question you have and every hurtful word because you know that when the conversation ends, the relationship is irrevocably changed and the opportunity to say what you feel will not present itself again as the healing process begins and you both move on. My one criticism is that I wish they would have included more from PY's perspective and verbalized more than just the trust that was damaged by the affair. In my case, and many others, your self-esteem takes a beating. You find yourself imagining them with the other person and comparing yourself to them. Also wish she would have emphasized that her not taking him back was also a valuable lesson for her daughter in teaching her self-worth. But can I say that the performances of both actors was wonderful. I can see that you seem to think YS's demeanor is rather emotionless, but I was riveted by how this man just compartmentalizes his life (not to mention how he used his experience as a psychiatrist to attack PY's defenses from every possible angle) and manages to seem sincere to both his mistress and his wife. Like I honestly could not figure out if he wanted to truly reconcile with PY or was just trying to get her back for X amount of years like he told AM. At first it seemed he was just lying to AM so that she wouldn't hurt herself, but his conversation with the fellow cheater seemed to indicate that even if PY accepted him, he'd keep sleeping with AM. Like talk about some shady $h!t. This marriage and eventual fallout was what kept me watching the show though. I do not like the replacement actor and find that he playing the role as just an average cheater and lacks that sincere emotional duality that the original one brought to the character.
I appreciate Sa piyong and husband dialogue, they do a great acting, but for one full episode, oh nooooo this is to long for repetitive talk. The writer looks like pro cheater :(

Ep.12 was truly an exceptional episode from the producers and the actors. Yes it was a long, hard to watch until the end, going in circles argument, but it was portrayed so realistically I got the same feeling from a personal experience while watching the episode. Big kudos to Yushin and Piyoung for their performance.

Instead of appealing to PY logic, Doc will stand a better chance of appealing to her heart and beg for her forgiveness. If that doesnt work, just proceed with the filing of the divorce but drag it out so that he can buy time to make amends. If that doesnt work, throw Ami under the bus, by bring Ami to see PY and tell both straight up, that Ami was just a mid life crisis and he choose his wife in the end. Instead, he went all philosophical. Btw is PY a Scorpio?
Honestly I'm starting to be over this. I know we still got 4 episodes left but several things truly bother me. Again I feel like the mistresses are getting away with everything. Yes the husbands are at fault here. Primarily. Still the Disney princess is preparing her wedding singing lalaland... The virgin Mary with unborn baby Jesus is being pursed by the only (seemingly) good man of the show (that REALLY is a story line that pisses me off!!). And the idiot wannabe alien eyes actress is going to have her android cheater for herself. This is annoying. Nope the writers are aware of how frustrating and aggravating it is for viewers and they have hidden a banger twist on episodes 15 and 16. Everybody but the wives needs to go DOWN.
PS: Dude you're amazing at depicting and analyzing this. Your perspective is always very accurate and well explained. Please keep doing this with Kdramas. They're so interesting to analyze. The Korean culture aspect makes it even more captivating.

Well I'm happy that I kept watching this drama since season 1 even though it was hella frustrating. Piyoung is right to do whatever she wants, but I want her to give a hard time to Yu Shin and Ami before leaving. I kinda don't like the " pure" heart of Ms. Lee and Haeryung is okay, but I think she should create a beautiful mess in Saeyon' life and leave. He is such an Immature guy I really hate men like him such a mum baby 😤

This show makes me want to never marry. I am sorry but episode 12 is too much talking and not enough action. So do all of the co-workers like Mr. Seo or whatever. I must admit that when his stepmother went crazy, I was like that’s what she gets. Why is the ghost still around if he is not dragging his former wife to HELL? I hope he has a purpose because I am confused.

Episode 12 was soo repetitive and a drag to watch. I watched the first ten minutes and the last ten minutes and basically got the gist. So yeah!
I enjoyed episode 12, that conversation was so realistic and intense. Yu Shin tried you be smart and mamipulate Pi Young but she Was firmly grounded and I admire her strength.
Something inside me however wanted her to forgive him in the end, it seemed he finally realised what he had done wrong and not blame his mistake on biology or common reason. I love this couple, they are like an alpha male and alpha female. Would really like to see them back together in the end. Pi Young needs time to process the betrayal and to forgive him and Yu Shin could use the separation to reflect more on how his actions are not as trivial as he initially thought.

I see some people glossing over her behavior (like it couldn’t contribute to her husband cheating) but I know a couple… in fact, I was in their divorce (I’m an attorney) there was no cheating… but the husband straight up divorced his wife because she was super RUDE… she was rude to his Mom and that was what kicked him into gear. She was extremely pretty, great family background and they had kids …the marriage was only 2 years but he divorced her and got married to someone else 4 years later… and she is still rude to him till today…
Genuineness could win the husband over… I think that’s what made him for the other lady, although he is also a lot annoying with his immaturity all over the place…
My exSIL is much like the DJ. She is an ex-ballerina with a wicked sense of humor. They laughed a lot. They had a 20+ relationship. At a low point of my brother’s career, she was unsupportive. He divorced her and she was devastated. Everyone always wondered why they stayed together so long since he was so nice. She kept all the assets and he got all the bills, but he’s happy now. Part of me always wished they would have worked it out, but some things can’t be fixed. I feel the same way about the youngest couple. I think the DJ loves him because staying with him after knowing he fathered a child with another woman is a big deal. Some part of her must be self-aware enough to realize her faults. A true narcissist wouldn’t care and leave.

I think they repeat over and over in the show that DJ’s husband married her for her looks and he himself said he married her because she looked cool at her drumming… those things aren’t enough to sustain a marriage tho… after the marriage, mutual respect and understanding becomes the most desirable thing.
You could be with the richest, prettiest or handsomest guy but all that pales in comparison to how they treat you or make you feel each and every day. That will trump everything. I really love this show. My Hubby and I are like the “DJ” couple as in a young marriage… but without the extra drama 😂.
Btw like I said I actually think DJ should not really try to change extremely ….(I’m not completely down for her to do a 180 unless she’s really genuine about it) to fit her Husband’s ideal, like having a ‘band aid baby” or neglecting her career, etc. Those kinds of changes are not long term sustainable… and they could have problems again in the future… they could try to have a middle ground and accept each other and compromise when they can.

To keep Piyoung, Yu sin is practising everything he has studied so far since year one in psychology, the "poor" is trying so hard using all kind of excuses, but Thanks Piyoung didn't move on her decision. I want this guy to suffer all kind of things and Ami too. FIGHTING Piyoung everything is gonna be right show them you can live well without him. I'm someone who is always against divorce, but Yu sin just crossed the line with all his excuses😪

I hate how all the mistress and the cowardly husbands act as if they didn't mean to fall in love. People can have crushes and shit like that which u can't control but love is a whole different level. For feelings to mature into love u need to give it the environment to do so. Both the husband and mistress should have stopped communicating once any one of them felt even a smidge of feelings for the other person. They knew what they were doing the husbands don't wanna take responsibility for their actions and the mistresses are entitled pieces of work that think the world revolves around them.
Why should Yu-sin lose his daughter. His wife went through the same thing and the reason she hated her mother and she's now doing the same thing. In reality most women are like that. Why should a good father lose his children because things didn't work out between him and his wife. He might be a good father but a bad husband.

Pi-young forgot all the stuff she said to her mother about divorcing her father and the terrible impact it had on her young life. I don't think she should divorce her handsome, rich husband but make him suffer a little. He needs to be more remorseful and get rid of the mistress. Pi-young is super hurt because of her hypocrisy. She was living a Disney HEA life and the blinders were taken off. She lost her opportunity to reconcile with her mother and lost her marriage all in one day.
I think she should crush Ami's life first, then Yu Shin's and leave, but she has to think of Ji-a 😪
So Won and Mr Seo got married, The doctor turns and alcoholic and his step mom take advantage of it and sleep with him. A mi notices it and kill her. Dog- mi and her last husband ride naked in the pools as a torture for her and pleasure for him. Pi- Young lives with her daughter. the youngest couple will be pretending to act as a good couple but the laywer make the arrangements for the divorce between the doctor and the producer, and he starts dating the producer, and finally he divorces and marry her. Hyreong cant stand it and returns to Canada with her family, the writer is now the producer also of the radio show and remains single as a workalcholic.
I like the show but I think episode 12 was to long and focus to much on one couple. Its hard that we have to wait a whole week for the next show, so please dont focus on one couple next time.

Of all the guys, I never got why he of all people was so obsessed with A Mi chewing an apple 🍎 soundlessly when they first met … what gives? that was also the first time he erotically fantasized about kissing her… really? Cos she can eat An apple without a sound and your wife can’t ? I always wondered if it was a metaphor for something else…
And he said, there was nothing romantic when they first met, that ami just mistook his chivalry as something else, then at the end he admitted that he does all these things to women to make them fall for him.

All the guys had romantic thoughts towards the mistresses when they first met/saw them… I can’t remember for the professor but Sa-Hyun definitely kept staring at Song Won at the gym before she even noticed him. He even told his senior at work that ladies at the gym are really sexy.
That’s one of the real things about this show… they’re showing us that affairs usually start when one party fantasizes about the other party who is not their wife a lot.
So much for the only woman in his heart forever. I can see next week's sneak preview that he doesn't hesitate to call in A Mi. I was exhausted after the 1-hour argument. I have to say though kudos to the writers for doing a great job here. I wouldn't have endured it, I would have had to say No means No and walk away. Yu Shin's character is showing true Narc potential there. I have to say the stepmother thing is nauseating. I don't know but seems incestuous. I hope they do season 3.
