I absolutely love how in Thanatos’ full bio it says that he “adores the young prince”. Freaking Achilles already saw it a mile away. And it makes sense why he was so upset with Zagreus suddenly leaving. That’s when I knew he was my #1 option for the romance stuff

I think my favourite thing about this is how gentle Zagreus is with Thanatos. Most of the time, Zagreus's conversations with others are either sassy or coaxing if he's trying to help someone, like with Achilles and Patroclus, or Nyx and Chaos. But with Thanatos? That's the person he's willing to pump the brakes and actually take a step back to think about what he's doing or saying, and I absolutely LIVE for it.
I think that's why the time aspect keeps coming up in their convos. Zagreus is respecting him by giving him time he doesn't need or want - but with the best of intentions. Despite having all the time in eternity, Thanatos doesn't need or want the consideration (or eternity!) he just wants Zag :)
In one of Aphrodite's dialogue she says that "there are a lot of ladies, or gentlemen waiting up here" or something along those lines. Hinting that yeah, nobody's completely straight here

Yes! At some point when you meet w Dio he's gonna say something like "hey Zag mate how about we play a prank on mate Orpheus there huh?" And asks him to tell Orpheus that he and Dio are the same person. Later when you come back from that run, you telltale Orpheus about how you - Zag - got smashed by the titans and given your literal heart to Zeus, who then made you reborn as Dio, which is how Zag exists as two different gods at the same time. Orpheus gets so impressed he makes a song about it, you can sometimes hear it in the house haha!
There are a bunch other references Zag and Dio makes that hint on their shared mythology along the game, Supergiant really did a good job on developing this lore

you know, when I stumbled upon some fan content with the ship, I thought, oh joy, another pair of (probably) best friends shipped together by the fandom, but decided to check it out anyway, because I was completely unfamiliar with the game… cue me, 15 minutes later, it’s legit, I’m ✨ obsessed ✨
I remember when I played this game I couldn't tell if they were loved each other like brothers of they were straight up gay for each other. I remember giving Thanatos all the ambrosia I got just so I could find out wtf was going on. Although I wish the devs were a little more clear I have to say this was the most I've ever been invested in a gay relationship in any media.
I know Achilles' past, because he gave Zag advices to Than and I also realize he's GAAAY TO Patroclus. And after they died, both of them missed each other in the underworld in a separate level
A bit of greek mythology for ya: Thanatos' most notorious role in greek mythology involves a story between him and Sisiphus, where he gets ordered to chain the tyrant king to the depths of Tartarus, but gets outwitted when Sisiphus asks him how the chains works, where he ends up chaining himself to Tartarus and unable to break free and because of that, essentially nobody ends up dying even tho there's a great war going on, since Thanatos is in charge of taking people to Tartarus. A few months pass before Ares finds out (Since he is the god of war, obviously) and decides to break Thanatos free of his chains. Basically, don't let Hades: The game tell you otherwise. Thanatos is a big dumb-dumb and I can definetly picture him getting flustered when his crush tries to talk to him.

I don't know what exactly triggers the convo, nor even if you have to raise your bond with than for that, but I'm fairly certain it has to do with him showing up a certain number of times in your escape attempts for such

A bit of greek mythology for ya:
Thanatos' most notorious role in greek mythology involves a story between him and Sisiphus, where he gets ordered to chain the tyrant king to the depths of Tartarus, but gets outwitted when Sisiphus asks him how the chains works, where he ends up chaining himself to Tartarus and unable to break free and because of that, essentially nobody ends up dying even tho there's a great war going on, since Thanatos is in charge of taking people to Tartarus. A few months pass before Ares finds out (Since he is the god of war, obviously) and decides to break Thanatos free of his chains.
Basically, don't let Hades: The game tell you otherwise. Thanatos is a big dumb-dumb and I can definetly picture him getting flustered when his crush tries to talk to him.
