People forget that Excalibur started as a light fun action book which makes the smiles very comic accurate. The first few issues were actually kind of 🤪 goofy. I agree about the orange body suit being a lesser choice. I want this set but I really need my new nightcrawler first.

A Nightcrawler with Hound Rachel with her fire wings down her arms and maybe a Cersi would be a nice three pack. Also I really hope they stop doing exclusives with stores like Walgreens. Its making me fall out of the collecting. Out of nine figures i would have bought including the Nova and Quasar this is the only one. It sucks when you are forced to pay 60 bucks for a 20 buck figure since their partnership doesnt really mean anything to either side.

Nice review of this set! I hear everyone about the 'smiling' faces. I think Hasbro should look into more "swappable" parts...in this case swappable faces. They should make all the hair plug or peg into the head so you can swap faces. This way you could make one set of hair, and different faces to plug in (serious, smiling, snarling, etc). Still this is a great set. Finally have Meggan! So happy!
Thank you for addressing the discrepancies. X-fandom isn't the most noisy lot, but most of us feel the same as you about the costume details. I love the X-stuff we get from Hasbro, while accepting loltheir bias for looks from games, cartoons, and the early 90s books. But then they throw something amazing at us like Maggott, so who knows! I'm just glad to have Meggan and Shadowcat!
All of them could have used the new body types with no pegs and better articulation but I love Excalibur and I'm glad we're only missing one member to complete the team. I totally agree with you regarding the looks, yellow costume Megan would be better for this Brian Braddock, or the other way around, v chest costume Brian Braddock would be better for this Megan but in the end if I had to choose individually I would've chosen the exact same costumes for each of this characters Hasbro did. I have mine on preorder. Mostly for the Megan as I could make an Excalibur as I have Nightcrawler and Rachel Summers as well as Captain Britain and Kitty Pryde.
Nice looking 3 pack. As an Englishman it appeals to me. Captain Britain is a big improvement over the Hyperion mould they used on the last figure. Butterfly joints would've really boosted him to the next level. Megan and Kitty look good. Shame they don't have the new female articulation. If costumes don't quite match I imagine them just wearing the old one from the back of the wardrobe/closet. 🙂

As a Briton, I am now compelled to but these and as them to my team of British Marvel characters - so far, I have Union Jack, Captain Britain, Spider-Man UK, the Black Knight, and Captain Carter. Still need a Death's Head and Blade.
I like the Perfect World comparisons with the Robo's preferred artist to compare. I think I'm just over the strange anatomy of the sculpts. They have no reason to, but I'd love to see a complete retool of all of their sculpting division from the ground up so these figures look either more artist specific, or more like human beings. I just can't stand these anatomies any more.

Kitty was 4'10" when she first got her powers and joined the X-men at 13-14 years old. In Excalibur, she is high school aged: around 16-17. So that would be the time she grows a lot. She is one of the shorter X-women, but well over 5'. Web Searches yield 4'10" to 5'6". The former is for the Evolution version who is also about 14. The latter may be too tall, but she is usually depicted as taller than Wolverine, in 616, who is 5'-3"ish. So if this is too tall, it's not by more than 1/4" That tall Kitty is practically 7" scale. At 1/12th scale, that is a six-footer: not cool.
Right there with you re: Alan Davis’s replacements on art duties. Not really because Davis took a break, but because the substitutes were always bad. Like really bad. Alan Davis is still one of my all time favorite comic artists.

@@toyhunter2903 if he got it from Hasbro he would be required to state as such per FTC regulations, so most likely he paid extra to get it someplace overseas who gets more direct access to stuff from factories and therefore faster. He’s actually likely paying more not less to have it now and has nothing to do with being special or such.

It’s been a looooong time, but I thought Adam from Knights of Pendragon had Excalibur? I actually prefer the older figure of Captain Britain. My dream is to get my Exiles rollin’. But so far I’ve only gotten Morph and Blink. Still gotta find the AoA Sabretooth. Being a rotating cast makes it hard to determine who I want most lol
Can’t wait for the Rachel Summers figure. A new Spiral would be cool too. It could be double pack, since they have history together.

I thought it was worth noting that Brian's uniform was destroyed during Inferno when Kitty used the Soul Sword on him to break the demonic influence.

I think I’ve only owned/read one issue of Excalibur. This kinda makes me want to change that.
The body for captain Britain is so much better than the Hyperion body mold that mold needs to retire but keep unworthy Thor body mold
