But the colors suck. Boring black and primer gray. YUCK. Otherwise, great bike that I’d totally buy. But for $21K it should have a decent selection of colors beyond these 2.

I do like these, and would love to have one, but so expensive for what you get... probably why I'll never buy a Harley. I'd rather buy 2 or 3 other cool bikes for the same total price. Dealers even selling them thousands over MSRP everywhere. Would have to spend like $25k-$28k to get one. Other brands have so much more bike for that price... I did see a used one for sale with less than 1k miles on it, but was still over $25k

My thoughts exactly. Harley is lost when it comes to pricing.

    • @FXDLSBrooklyn

Yeah I think if it is being up-selled through dealerships, that is a different story, and I would agree you could do better for 28k

The FXLRST surprised me as well and I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. It is awesome to have a bike that doesn't need much done to it at all. The inverted front end and and tall factory rear monoshock make all the difference. I plan to run 9.5" pullback risers with proper mid-bend bars to get the rider triangle more dialed. The 117 is plenty of power for the chassis. I feel lucky to have one.
The "forward-mid" controls are definitely not as comfy to me as the regular mids on the dyna's, but with mini floorboards they will be decent. I also prefer top load bags (HD touring/Leather Pros), but these clamshell bags honestly aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. Thanks for the honesty! I wanted to dislike it and stay on my dyna lol

I have a new 22 S model.... i'm really torn over that fairing, I really like it but I only do one big trip a year and a smaller one also, I ended up with a Memphis shades wind screen, not the road warrior, I still like the look of a naked bike on the front.... that screen pops off and I think it looks really good.....i'm 5'7 on a good day and with a saddleman and 9.5in risers, its comfortable, I went with a different crashbar because let's face it, not only did I want protection but I wanted to be able to put my feet up because that thing does handle really well....sláinte!

Great video I've only ridden the S model but I think you summed up these bikes well. The handling is incredible for a stock out of the box Harley, they finally nailed it after all these years since the FXR (with some good ones in between like the FXDX and Dyna Low Rider)

Must not think bad thoughts...must not think bad thoughts...yeah this bike hits me hard...its probably the best offering of a Sport Touring model they've ever built. We know we'll all change the bars and seat but the ergonomics is really close stock.
I've heard a lot of people being critical of the gauges but I only use the gas gauge and speedometer when I see a cop so that's not something I'd lose sleep over.
They did a great job with styling and price. I definitely need to stay away from dealerships when these things start showing up!

I said b4 that I got to ride the '22 Low Rider S. Love the bike...but doesn't fit my style of riding. I agree I didn't like the riding position either, but that's a simple change. It was defiantly engineered right. but I like tight mtn twisties. In my opinion...for that type of riding anything over a 114 is too much. Even the 114 maybe too much. I find myself passing guy on M8s in that type of riding conditions. Its like they're too scared to take the turns at speed. I Don't know if its the power of the bike or them...but fuck...just get outta my way...LOL

After owning this bike for 2 months its just been an awesome bike. It definitely needed to be tweeked to get me in my comfort zone though. Started with 8" risers with midbars, SDC seat, flo floorboards, shifter and brake pedal with the green bros brake linkage. Topped off with TBR stainless 2 into 1.
My biggest complaint was the windshield, it totally sucks, I went with klockwerks recurve looks awesome and is an upgrade from the stock one. All in all I love the power the handling its all there. If you wanted your fxr or dyna to handle like this you would have to spend a fortune in top of the line suspension parts.

I have my deposit down for the ST at a dealer without markups, but I just found a 2020 low riders s with JD customs upper and lower fxr fairings, plus hard bags, t bars, relocated gauges, bassani 2 in 1 exhaust with tune, mx pegs and LED lights. 8000 miles on it for $20,000. Looks similar to yours, but all black. Haven't ridden either of them, but I'm 5'6 so a good size for either bike. In your opinion, is the ST worth the extra money over the 2020 S with the mods? Thanks in advance!

I test rode one of these in Sturgis. I really really wanted to love this bike. This bike looks amazing, it has tons of power. I even liked the saddle bags. The faring did a great job. Did I mention the power...Oh Yeah. Granted, I only got a 25 minute test ride, so its not entirely fair. I wasn't crazy about my knees position while riding the bike. I don't think that for me, this would not be a very comfortable ride touring. I like to put on 500 mile days. That might not be what this bike is made for, but it needs to be a descent portion of my riding style. I may need to find a way to take this for a longer ride for a few hours to get a more thorough test.

At first I thought it was cool that HD was bringing back the LRS as a Softail, but now, not so much. The original FXDLS is almost a collectors item at this point. It was a limited release, end of a platform, special model. These new softails are the opposite. I'm sure they perform great, but imo they're just overpriced, boring copies of the Dyna. Especially if they keep reusing the same black/bronze color scheme. Not to mention the whole fake club style look is reaching a point of oversaturation. Good review though.

@@bigleftlcn I rode an FXLRS awhile back. Nice bike but it seriously felt like a Honda compared to my FXDLS. Almost no vibration. Obscenely loud electronic fuel injection throttle whir. Slightly smaller chassis. Got bored with it within minutes. They definitely outperform the stock Dynas as far as handling but imo they aren't nearly as fun to ride and they definitely aren't that much faster.
