The young fella is learning more and more every time he helps out Richard . I was surprised to see a trunk in that car, I haven’t seen a Mustang here in Ontario that the trunk ever survived. Thanks for the video guys. Nice camera work as always Christina.👍👍🇨🇦
That young fella cruising into poor health due to obesity that causes heart disease, diabetes and cancer,he should be looked after and put on a proper diet (no seed oils, sugar especially carbs and most vegetables that are poisonous,)hopefully he can get healthy before damage occurs
Congratulations Richard at the Junkyard getting the 65 Mustang going. Great job Christina in filming this episode. You’re the best at this old Iron going. Thank you for sharing! 💯👊👍
Wow! That old 289 runs great! If the sub frame is solid, that's an easy inexpensive resto. Well done as usual. And Christina is a trooper. Not many wives are willing to help move a collapsed structure out of the way.
Always working with a smile! I highly recommend; Hot Rod Guy Garage. Has a fantastic reworking of rusted metal unibody prices. Lots to learn just like Richard
Mr. B. Here ! 🍔🍺😎👀👍. This looks like it’s going to be interesting & hope the bottom of the vehicle is not rusted that the car falls apart ! Good luck guys ! 👍🛞👍🛞👍🛞👍🛞
Hi Richard and Christina ! Another really enjoyable video ! I got a great laugh out of your comment on the red calipers , I'm finishing my restoration on a 1963 Fairlane 500 2dr. And painted all the brake drums red ! Looks great behind the Cragers. Glad to hear it will also improve my handling !! Lol lol lol. Keep those wrenhes turning and Christina , the camera running ! So , so enjoyable !
Hey, Richard and Christina, another great video from you two! Great work on an old first Gen Mustang! I had a dark blue 1965 Mustang hardtop in high school with a 289 V-8 and C-4 automatic transmission and it ran well. Wasn't show quality but driver quality. Anyway, cheers to you and have a great day! 😀👍🛠️
That kid is very lucky to have a true southern gentleman ( Richard ) as a teacher. And a lot of projects all around. Hardest thing might be to find a woman like Christina. 🙂
Richard's not southern, he's a New Englander, Massachusetts. Lugnut is a great kid! He knows some stuff about cars adults don't know, in my book. Christina? Why it's so hard to find a woman like her is because she's a hot beautiful alien from another planet, with genetics to match. A grandma?? Yes. And Richard's got her, and she's a gearhead: \m/. What The Rust: epic channel with epic people.
Very nice video. I remember my '66 mustang. It was uh Ca car all original with Ca emissions. It was a 289 and had the smog pump with air manifold check valves, diverter valve. I kept it all original. I miss that car.
That was a big success!! Another winner!! 👍👍😎 And that Mustang has a lot of potential to be roadworthy despite the body work it needs. Very cool!! Congratulations Richard and Christina!! Thanks for sharing!

I'm not a huge Mustang fans since i prefer the more rare ophan cars myself. But one thing that i've noticed since watching these videos is how Richard really likes to prepare his area before he starts to work. It shows that he wants to give himself the proper space he needs to work comfortably and without clutter. I'm the same way. I would do as he and go through the car, clean away anything unecessary before i jump into the revival. Great video as always.
Thanks very much. I do try to keep the area as productive as possible, because once I start working , things get cluttered quickly! Thank you for the support.
Some days ago i was doing a revival with a friend of mine of a carburated Buick Century and I've thought "Why don't we have Creoil here?" 😅😅😅 Cheers for that beautiful 66 Mustang 🎉
Heys guys, I'm a brand new subsciber. I watched the 73 Mustang revive. Now I'm watching this one. I've noticed something that you need. In other Restoring shows on UA-cam that I watch, the person on camera has a wireless microphone 🎤. Richard definitely needs this while the engine is running! Just something to think about in future videos. Great show too.
You and Christina are did a great job getting the old Mustang running. The two of you work well together! She sounds great too, love the sound of the glass packs. Daniel is a good helper and knows a lot about cars for his age also. How do you find these old cars to work on? Anyway, Later!
64.5 to 66 mustangs never had front disc brakes from the factory. They were single reservoir all 4 drum brakes. I put 67 mustang ( kelsey hayes 4 piston ) disc brakes on my 66 mutt. You needed to change to a dual reservoir drum / disc master and put a proportioning valve inline to balance the brake pressure front to rear. I also added the power brake booster because it was really hard to apply brakes without the power assist. It is a bolt on changeover.
Excellent video Christina :) , Richard :) Lug Nut (Daniel) :) yes sounds nice that 1966 Ford Mustang for sure and need bit work but good condition one! Think Brakes fix up also new Alternator plus wireing she be good to go!
You say you don't work on Mustangs much. I've restored them for 40+ years. The size of the radiator was determined by the cubic inces of the motor, and, by what accessories the engine had. That there is a 19w x 19.5t. If it had a.c., it would have had a 20w x 19.5t. Anything bigger than a 351, would have a 24w x 19.5t.
All those years of using a trolley jack Richard has paid off breaking the poly pipe Christina would have the muscles she doesn't mess around anyway love your videos and magnificent country there Gods nature is beautiful
Again, great job Richard getting the Mustang running! By the way, I have that exact blue Tach/Dwell meter. It's at least 40 years old and still works great on my '54 Bel-Air!!
The black hood on red paint made me think of the mustang from that movie Cherry 2000. I had a 65 mustang my senior year in High-school and kept it till I was 22
Those "poverty caps" look like the same ones from my old '69 Valiant. Cool Mustang. They sold like hot cakes back in the day. Daniel, it's great to see todays youth interested in something other than video games.
and it runs like a charm again. :) and it sounds like one, too. :D the interior looks great (aside the missing roofliner, of course), I hope it won't fall apart now that the sun can bake it crispy...I once had a german Ford from the 70's, everythign was worn to the bones except the seats. but then I made the mistake and remove the seat covers, and 4 weeks later the light tan vinyl turned brown and crumbled away... :0
My mechanic left a radiator cap on the wheel well which fell into the fan and took his left eye out!!😖😞 He wore a patch and worked many years until retirement. It messed up his depth perseption and he had to be careful driving. We called him Long John Silver and every Halloween he dressed up as a pirate to give out candy!!🏴☠️ Think safety on the job sight around spinning machinery!!
I have aleays admired the mustangs from 1965. In the 70's a guy offered me one tat had been a drag car , complete with a beam axle from a truck for the front end . At $1800 i thought it was too much . Years later i found out it was a Shelby kit race car,one of 12 built by Shelbys for race only duty. 😯😯😯😭

Right, it would make a very cool project.

This is my favourite episode so far. Cant deslike an old poney. You should try to restore it Richard. Great job
Thanks! My body work skills are about on par with what has been done with the Mustang previously.
Appears like had been somebody's hotrod in the 1990s.
Good power to weight ratio, should be a not too complicated running project t somebody.
