When putting in plugs, always turn the plug anticlockwise first to find the thread entry point, then turn the plug clockwise to insert it thus avoiding cross threading. Same with bolts.

Still a long way to go. Get a timing light on it, your water hoses, valve covers on right way up, cover back on the flywheel, new distributor cap and rotor, new plug wires, pull broken bolts on valve cover and carburetor, new gasket on carburetor. The list is still long. Brake masters cylinder, probably slave brake cylinders in the wheels , possibly new brakes lines. Then you can think about driving it to a tire shop.
    Good luck.

A great pitch for a great pair of auto revivers. It's also great to see pleased customers getting involved and speaking R & C's praises before the Camera. Indiana isn't close really to Tennessee, so I was amazed that they both have regular jobs. Having watched many episodes I was under the impression that this was all they did, especially given the distances they occasionally travel. All on a weekend.
As their fame spreads the demand may require them to quit their "day" jobs and do this full time...as long as the income justifies it.

Very nice video, and what a great job.
You worked hard for that one Richard, and it sounded remarkably smooth when it eventually started.
It’s a very cool car, and I hope Gus follows thru and continues the work that you started.
A new exhaust system followed by sorting out the steering/ track rods & brakes would probably allow you to drive it……if only temporarily.

Thanks, I will be getting one! I am starting to like unsticking the engine from the flexplate. So much more leverage there.

I grew up in Indiana, and I'm guessing that the engine bay got a lot of winter salt in it. I'm guessing the owner hosed down the outside, but not the engine bay.

Right. That engine was likely never cleaned.

Snap On actually makes a tool specifically for turning an engine by the flywheel. I don't know how much it costs, but I do know that it is available.
