Thanks for all your effort that went in putting together this excellent video! Being a novice, I especially appreciate the running commentary about the different throws and the freeze-frame clips. Keep up the awesome work!
Your narration is amazing ! I really enjoei hearing everything you have to comment about ! Thanks for doing it ! Our sport is brighter bc of what you do.
It's 5:48pm, July 21st in NYC as I write this. I woke up at 9am for my 10:30am showing of Oppenheimer. At around 2:00pm, when it let out, I walked to a local pub, had a couple of brewskis with a calamari appetizer and walked right back over to the same theater to see, alone and without my wife or daughter who left with my son for vacation earlier because she was able to use her vacation days before I was able to take mine, and I was happy to see I wasn't the only cis straight male who'd come to see it alone...nor was I the only one to enjoy it! Both movies were great, for different reasons of course, and I think I chose correctly. Barbie was the perfect palette cleanser after the thoughtfully downbeat Oppenheimer. Some of my coworkers have said they're gonna do it the opposite way but I can't wait to hear how their experience was. This is great! Two supposedly distinct audiences naturally being drawn toward one another because of the gravity of emotion brought about because of the summer season and our collective need to feel these two different sets of emotions. Both movies were dealing with emotions, Missouri and consciousness in very thoughtful ways! I was surprised by both and think this Barbenheimer phenomenon is a testament to how well we can get along and understand each other when we drop it guard! "I am become pink, the destroyer of patriarchy."
at the 9 min mark . taken to groundwork for that superfast armbar - Your so right He has honed skill to confidence. Good to see. An the exemplar tomoe nage Brilliant Good VID and good commentary. Awesome man!
4:39 This is the best technique in this video when the french guy used his leg to unbalance the opponent in same time used his hand to fall him off and he got ippon ! 👊
Some of those Harai Goshi, might be O Guruma. Especially the one at the end of the video, and these are great videos T/U. I'M from the Okazaki Dojo from Honolulu, in the 50s.
@JudoHighlights are there any free to watch juco competition videos available? I thought all IJF content was now behind a $100/year paywall. I miss being able to watch the Grand Slam competitions.
Speaking of HWs doing small person judo, how bout the reverse seoi that Sone did in the earlier rounds? The way she rolled back to her feet was smooth too.
I'm probably wrong about this, but usually I look at how the move started which was an ouchi gari. Just so happened that his opponent tried to defend and ended up getting thrown like he did.
it may started in the direction of an ouchi gari but then I would call it a combination, ouchi, uchi. I feel as though ouchi means like you're making an o, a circle with your leg and direction of the throw is naturally backwards. but just uchi is just lift and you throw forward. so I would say murao did a combination, o uchi gari switched to uchi mata, which is a great combination. same could be debated about o soto gari and harai goshi, but the most obvious difference is in the direction of the throw. when inoue broke his sholder, he did something akin to this, but in that case I would call it an o uchi gari, because he was pushing his opponent backwards, ken kening forward, and in the end threw him backwards. but murao threw his opponent forward.
@@JudoHighlights2015 pls I wanna ask you something,I want to ask if you have this book secret/physics of Judo by one jiinichi, chadi covered it once in his UA-cam videos,I really desire to have possession of that book
@@JudoHighlights2015 The title of the book is (secret of judo,a textbook for instructors and students) by Jiichi Watanabe and Lindy avakian,I really can't wait to have that book in my hands if possibly you can help me source for it or get it,I will be really excited
It is kind of hard for me to tell who won in a lot of these. It looked to me like many of the people who did successful throws eventually had their opponents end up on top of and/or behind them. Isn't this what you don't want, because you are in a more compromised position? Someone please explain.
Thank you for making these videos. You do a much better job at promoting Judo than the IJF. Much appreciated.
Up!

I’m a lifelong karateka. I love watching judo & (Japanese) ju jitsu competitions. Beautiful throws!
me too. Its the best. Mix it up w/ some Muay Thai for an MMA dominator .
Wow, the details of these judokas' judo is incredible, especially the judo to nagase, Murao, and maruyama.
Amazing video!
Our judoka Lasha Bekauri has already defeated Murao several times
I am very happy and proud that you awarded our Georgian judoka the first place, Riner is a very strong judoka, I am glad that Gurama defeated him
I was very happy that you gave the top 1 Ipon to our Georgian judoka
7:28 VERY nice control, ippon of the year candidate
11:05 Rip that dude's balls
Great video with fantastic commentary. Thank you
I am happy to see that Takato has done so well!

Excellent analysis. Thank you
I would probably not be doing judo if it weren't for your excellent content. Thanks man.
That's the real influence right there! ❤

You can watch them live for free with ads. Otherwise you have to pay for it.
Tank you
no 2 from Maruyama - it's avant-garde of Judo
Nice ashi-garuma. Don't you love it when a new technique pays off.
Speaking of HWs doing small person judo, how bout the reverse seoi that Sone did in the earlier rounds? The way she rolled back to her feet was smooth too.
Was that an ippon?
@@JudoHighlights2015 oh yes. It was her first round match vs a Kazak.
Best judo youtober
Would put that Abe Uta flying ippon higher.
The koshi guruma? Yes I agree! 🤩
Yeah def in my top 5 for sure

Hey dude, if you're from NZ (which it sounds like) where abouts are you based?
I’ve been in Japan for 13 years. Originally from Christchurch
Yep it looks great
That ippon by Uta Abe looked like kubi nage 6:28
4:00 murao did uchi mata because he threw forward not backwards, which in tune with o uchi gari

peter vs iida it's a beautiful ippon
No. 3 mi favorito vaya energia
No. 7 !
Damn #3 was brutal
If you combined Judo and Brazilian Ju Jitusu....
What's number 3 called?
good video
That lee threw nagase is interested
#29 was my favourite.
How about Garrigos' Ippon on Takato?
Thought about it. But wasn’t it a Wazari? Anyway, that one was a bit controversial…
Isn't white controlling below the belt in N°15 ?
The 0:46 is an uranage?
So what, they just have to hit the ground before you do? Or you have to end up on top of them?
for me the 3rd is the best
no one will ever surpass Japan in Judo
Judo highlights,I felt stomp executed an osoto guruma, rather than an osoto gari, check it again

What’s on that last guy’s ankles?
saito is the children of Saito olimpic?
that's right
# 16, 13, 9, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
judo really needs to get rid of kokas and go back to when it was pure and only have ippon and wazari and submission to win a fight
👋
