    It's 5:48pm, July 21st in NYC as I write this. I woke up at 9am for my 10:30am showing of Oppenheimer. At around 2:00pm, when it let out, I walked to a local pub, had a couple of brewskis with a calamari appetizer and walked right back over to the same theater to see, alone and without my wife or daughter who left with my son for vacation earlier because she was able to use her vacation days before I was able to take mine, and I was happy to see I wasn't the only cis straight male who'd come to see it alone...nor was I the only one to enjoy it! Both movies were great, for different reasons of course, and I think I chose correctly. Barbie was the perfect palette cleanser after the thoughtfully downbeat Oppenheimer. Some of my coworkers have said they're gonna do it the opposite way but I can't wait to hear how their experience was. This is great! Two supposedly distinct audiences naturally being drawn toward one another because of the gravity of emotion brought about because of the summer season and our collective need to feel these two different sets of emotions. Both movies were dealing with emotions, Missouri and consciousness in very thoughtful ways! I was surprised by both and think this Barbenheimer phenomenon is a testament to how well we can get along and understand each other when we drop it guard! "I am become pink, the destroyer of patriarchy."

    4:00 murao did uchi mata because he threw forward not backwards, which in tune with o uchi gari

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  Рік тому

      I'm probably wrong about this, but usually I look at how the move started which was an ouchi gari. Just so happened that his opponent tried to defend and ended up getting thrown like he did.

    • @HantonSacu
      @HantonSacu Рік тому

      it may started in the direction of an ouchi gari but then I would call it a combination, ouchi, uchi. I feel as though ouchi means like you're making an o, a circle with your leg and direction of the throw is naturally backwards. but just uchi is just lift and you throw forward. so I would say murao did a combination, o uchi gari switched to uchi mata, which is a great combination.
      same could be debated about o soto gari and harai goshi, but the most obvious difference is in the direction of the throw.
      when inoue broke his sholder, he did something akin to this, but in that case I would call it an o uchi gari, because he was pushing his opponent backwards, ken kening forward, and in the end threw him backwards. but murao threw his opponent forward.

    It is kind of hard for me to tell who won in a lot of these. It looked to me like many of the people who did successful throws eventually had their opponents end up on top of and/or behind them. Isn't this what you don't want, because you are in a more compromised position? Someone please explain.
