Flawless - Best Walk-off Throws in Judo
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 кві 2023
- Compilation of flawless competition throws that look as if they were taken on some exposition of Kata. I consider these throws an equivalent to walk-off KO's in boxing or MMA.

That gigantic guy going for a sweep and then suddenly flying through the air like a physics engine glitch was amazing.
I did judo for a year and it’s such a brutal sport on the body. The pounding these guys take day in and day out is extraordinary.
I was doing judo for 6 years and I don't consider it a brutal sport. For example, even football or hockey are much worse in my opinion. I have never been injured during competition, only once during training.
It's a tough sport but learning to conserve your body with rest, conditioning, and a game plan is what allows longevity in the game!
@@-Davit- I agree completely. I was trained in Judo for 10 years by Olympians (Irwin, Steve Cohen, and Robert Berland) and I didn't think it was a Great sport, and not all that brutal on the body. Technique is everything!!
It's only brutal if you don't know what you are doing .
@@JS-yv8ks You are correct, but for example, it is horrible for me because I knew practicing medicine like the back of my hand. Now, its pretty much gone. I understand if it explained, and if I repeat things over and over, MAYBE I will remember it. IT SUCKS!!!
I'm 68 and still remember the names of those techniques after 45- 50 yrs. A lot of taiotoshis there. My favourite was moroteseonagi.
So your short and wide and extremely dangerous hahhahahah
2:26 I did _not_ expect to see something like that in Judo! 😲
Sadly grabbing legs has been forbidden some time ago, so you won't be seeing much more. The techniques are still being taught though.
I retired a couple years after that change. Judo just wasnt the same. I silly change IMO.
@@fortreebeard9273 do they teach leg grabs in judo schools?
lmao i expected a kata guruma
@@TheAccumulation so you expected right
Judoka s are poetry in motion. Beautiful fluidity
I really like these longer videos. I know they take more work, but they're awesome. The shorts are good too though.
Thank you! Gald to hear that.
Ce sport est tellement beau, un vrai régale pour les yeux
Meilleure chaîne YT continue
Thank you. And to think: those getting thrown (in this video) are themselves, excellent Judo players. That one where the smaller player let the larger one throw himself (about 1:30-1:40) was poetry in motion.
this video is amazing, ive watched it three times already. great job
Thank you, glad to hear that!
Bro I just wanted to say I love your channel, keep it up
Thanks buddy, appreciate that!
Искусство борьбы, достойное фресок и гравюр. Выглядит, просто красиво.
Simply beautiful techniques.
I love seeing Ashi Guruma in competition like that 👌
Отличная подборка бросков! Спасибо!
Very cool video, nice music and simple but efficient edit, just nice to watch !
Отличная подборка! Красота! Прямо учебное пособие.
absolute beauty
Author, you make great videos about judo. I wish your channel further development.
Thank you!
beautiful!
From this Apaches’ perspective, just so honored to witness such amazing skill. Props to all the participants, respectfully as always
Hopefully see you on the mats. Come share some skills. *bows*
Lol why do you feel the need to announce that you're Apache. Weird signal.
@@korbindallas8224 cause Apache’s are known in American to have a proud warrior tradition. It’s like if someone said, “as a Daegestani” It does hold cultural credence.
Nobody asked if you were apache bro sit down
@@korbindallas8224 'Indian' wrestling starts in a standing position, like judo, then you do judo stuff like leg sweeps and flying tackles, then progress to bjj-esque body locks and joint-breakers
All the Native American tribes had this
All the beauty of judo.
Awesome compilation.
Thanks!
Awesome!!
Truly beautiful
Great throws & sweeps.
So good
Top quality, as always
Thanks!
This is....... Just art!!!
Bons movimentos de judo, bom vídeo, legal!
3:08 a rare classic uki otoshi
Amazing....just amazing skills.
Fantastic video! Good clean throws with great technique. I was surprised at how many Ko Soto Gari throws for ippon there were. That was one of my favorite throws, but I hardly ever saw anyone else do it successfully, other than as a lead in to a combo.
Throws tend to cycle in and out of competition as the defense to the most effective attacks of today lead back into the attacks that have been forgotten.
Fascinating
The beauty old of well executed throw is difficult to describe but I know it when I see it.
Dat Samurai Champloo soundtrack though!
Superb highlight and rhythms.
Thanks!
Killer throws, killer soundtrack
amazing
Some sick trip/counter trip interactions here
Nice Video. A joy to watch.
Thank you!
Thanks for good vido❤❤❤
Da hora judo e muito legal, quem dera pudesse ter aprendido desde jovem não teria sofrido muito bulying
I always love watching the ippon at 9:04 hes like "lemme show you how its done"
I don't know much about judo but did the blue guy counter the guy in white? It kind of looked like that which is damn crazy.
WOW! Wonderful and beautiful.
Mean tai otoshi everywhere, love to see my favorite throw!
9:30 GORGIOUS ! :)
Judo is just the most beautiful and graceful martial art
3:00 uki otoshi weeoooooo that's nice
As a former wrestler in college, I love watching these throws. But I can't help but to think that most of these are only possible with the Gee on. I would like to see some videos on throws adapted from Judo to wrestling. The few wrestlers I knew who took the time to translate their judo to wrestling did great. Especially with the foot sweeps.
In my experience it's a bit harder to pull them off since they gi helps you getting a solid grip, but it's not impossible, just need to change your grips, most of the times is a right underhook and left wrist or tricep grip.
You tend to see a lot of judo like techniques in freestyle since the bigger the throw the more points for the technique
Yeah as someone who transitioned from Judo to wrestling. It’s a totally different sport. There are some Judokas now that show some no gi judo but I didn’t have that resource back when I wrestled
In short, Judo is a sport form on Jujutsu, which is basically techniques for Japanese soldiers to use when fighting unarmed. Since soldiers wear clothes and/or armor, it makes sense that Judo techniques are dependent on opponents wearing a gi. And as a former wrestler, that's why I find Judo interesting; the techniques seem usable in real life since people usually wear clothes and the throws are devastating on a hard/rough/uneven surfaces. However, if you're interest is sports like MMA, etc. where competitors wear little clothing, I suppose Judo throws are less useful.
I suggest to watch some shintaro higashi no gi judo techniques, you might like it. Shintaro is Judo black belt and US National Champion but also have wrestling experience in highschool.
Best music!!!
09:20 Love that ashi-guruma. It's the best footage of the technique I've seen on youtube.
Nice job
Where can I find the break beat song that ran through most the video?!?!?!? Shazam wasn't able to determine the song.
The list of tracks is in the description.
beauty
Spectacular kuzuki at :26! It's like watching a dance where the partner doesn't want to dance : )
@ 3:14 what are their names?
Judo is so beautiful
Nice video. The angle and speed let me see what happen, even when the guy getting thrown still is not sure what happened.
Beatyful moments
All absolutely beautiful ippons.
The most beautiful of all is Muneta's @04:35
Ashii barai foi banido?ninca mais vejo ninguem usando isso no atual judô!
4:12 - Who won the Ipon? The first throw dropped the guy on his back, but then he rolled it over.
I like that super fluffyweight division!! 1:32
Ese Kata guruma sigue permitido?
2:20 what wwe finisher was that?
Soon you'll have one of my throws on here!
That Uchi Mata!
This is best watched with "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" in the background, cranked. You're welcome.
Is it throwing or grappling ?
Просто какое-то волшебство на татами, не оторваться...
Just curious does judo score just on the throw or sweep? There’s no grappling after? Do they win on just the throw/sweep?
basically if the opponent’s back patch is fully covered when landing it’s an ippon and the match is over. otherwise the grappling continues on the ground if there’s no score or a lesser score.
@@Apples254 ok cool thanks
As a former judoka, 2 things:
1. A clean throw leaves you winded, breathless and disoriented because its fast and you land on your back. With sufficient force as shown here there is no getting back up quickly.
2. A clean throw on your back = you lose. No point in jumping up. It also shows respect and acknowledgement of your loss.
Honestly you look at all these throws and I just feel for the guys being thrown. Sometimes you just feel so stupid and that ‘I shouldn’t have been thrown’ but you leave your guard down for a second and boom you’re eating the floor. Happens to all of us just have to learn from it and come back for more lol
PROYECCIONES DE JUDO MÁS IMPECABLES
havent done Judo in 30 years but this was beautiful. Makes me want to do it again. Not sure if 52 is a bit old 😂
If nothing but age is holding you back, then go for it. I have seen a documentary about sport in old age and there were 70-90 year old folks who learned *new* sports and got fairly good at it. You don''t have to compete and just take it slow for fun and health. Alone being in a community of people who just love the sport can be uplifting.
No, you are not too old! I'm 58 and I still practice.
Vá em frente. Tenho 64 e ainda estou bem jovem. Continuo no tatame.
Красота! 👍
Judo is such a beautiful sport. I could watch this all day! What's the name of the throw @6:40
We used to call it a Korean seoi nage or reverse seoi nage.
Sadly I think it's been banned nowadays.
Дзю-до - самый зрелищный и человечный вид единоборств.
man damn i want to start doing judo and master it.
I hope you do good luck
I believe in you, Judoka.
がんばれ!
La grande epoque ou les kataguruma etais encore autoriser en competition
whats with the judogi at 5:50? never seen any other like that!
I think this match was in German Bundesliga. They allow all sorts of weird judogis.
I really like the behaviur of the japanese Judokas, pure sportmans ship
2:25 Can we do this technique it is legal or not ???
2:30 WHAT ? HOW ? WHAT IS NAME ? I NEED PLESE I NEED DO THIS
O mi goshi .!!
of course the judo here is phenomenal, I am really impressed by these throws and the precision that is required in the sport. But can someone also tell me the music being played in this video hahaha I actually really like it.
Name of the soundtracks is in the description.
👌👌👌
One throw in video was made without control and do not give victory. Video is good!👍
2:50
00:36 Was that a feint sweep into a twist? Or is it just my imagination?
2:48 nice combo
The guy who gets floored, always reacts the same... like he just lost his soul
It's to acknowledge their defeat
1.42.....the best
Татами верх красоты спорта
when I first saw the title of the video, I assumed it would just be a Shohei Ono highlight reel
v I suggest, when editing, to add the name of the technique!
Match @ 5:47 ?
You've missed Dragin ippon over Khan-Magomedov😢
Maybe the best walkoff ippon ever.
getting tossed and laying there. I feel that...
