So happy William won! We are all proud here in Labrador. Most people here in Labrador can relate to him. We love the outdoors and everything it has to offer!
Congrats to William; Labrador should be very proud.
Labrador has a new heavyweight champ!!!
Man, i so thought that timber was gonna win, but i guess his mental game got the best of him. Congrats to william though for winning it. Can't wait for season 12 and your recaps!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Timber’s mental game was strong even when he chose to leave. He explained that he had accomplished everything he had set out to do and the only thing left was the prize money and that wasn’t enough to stay and he felt that his journey would be tainted by the money in the long term. He didn’t “win” the money but won in so many other ways.
@@leetrowbridge3938 Thats a mental game. Nothing bad about it. He couldn't stop thinking all those things you named. You're alone all you have to do is think. the mental game is controlling the thinking.
Great recap, Al!👍 👌 😊 Those three guys are tough as nails! Thanks for helping us understand by identifying with what they were experiencing by similar experiences that you had!
I look 👀 forward to your video of you and your wife revisiting your site! 😊 David
Cheers!
Man...for once I didnt guess right, usually call it half ways...but this time the old reliable Toyota Land Cruiser got me. A few episodes ago, this outcome would've surprised the crap out of me, but William sort of just drove along, started slow, moved slow, passed the others slow, and won fast!! Congratulations William!!
I ve been watching William for years on his youtube channel, Big Land Trapper’
I knew he was a very powerful contender….
@@edwardfinn4141 gonna have to check it out, dont I :)
Next time I'm in the woods, i'll pole-snare a pigeon hahahah, or I might have tried if it wasnt freaking illegal here:)
The thing that had me doubting his longevity was mainly his repeating the same mistake several times on keeping his foodcache safe. But mentally he seems so stable its almost mindblowing.
Yes, nicely done William!
Aww, nice work, Alan. I've enjoyed watching your recaps, thank you for sharing your thoughts. A strong group this season, each participant deserves to be proud of their accomplishments.
🥳 William... man, that guy just kept on reinventing survival skills. A fantastic season.
Go Canada✌ Cheers everyone, Pat/Yukon
Many thanks!
I have enjoyed your recaps all season.
Glad you like them!
Thanks for your great recaps Alan! Your experience gives a perspective beyond the average viewer's such as myself. Also, congratulations on your excellent prediction this season after only the first episode. Canadians have been faring very well in these challenges. I'm looking forward to your next videos!😊
Thank you!
All three of the finalists- geeze, anyone could have won and I would have been happy. Good season, good group. Thanks for the recaps!
Cheers!
William lives in my subdivision and I can tell you , there wasn’t a dry eye in the town during that reunion. What an incredible moment
So cool!
Great job ...thanks for your input..ALONE IS A GREAT SHOW!
Glad you enjoyed it
Another great video, Alan. Can’t wait to watch the next video of the fishing trip with your wife!
Very soon!
Definitely looking forward to the video of you guys going back to your spot I think that’s awesome!!
Posting soon!
I really appreciate when you compare season 11 events/insights to your experiences from your time on Alone. It reflects, refracts and reinforces the competitors experiences in new ways. So instead of just recapping the action, you are adding valuable commentary. Thank you for the deeper dive!
You are welcome!🙏
In New West, BC, we cheered along with you last season and this. Please do these recaps again next time - your insights were great! Thank You.
Thanks! Will do!
I think William's lean-to heat wall was brilliant! It totally took the most dangerous aspect, a fire in the shelter, out of the worry. Nice!
Yes! Smart call by William.
Army survival guide 101..desert, tundra, etc. Good move!
Thanks for all the updates, very informative. Im especially impressed on William's mental game. I love watching survival videos and equipment reviews ,diy. However I've never seen anything like this. After 11 seasons someone comes out of nowhere and impressed the entire industry with his skills. William could be just a person down the street going about his life. Congratulations to William.
You’re welcome!
Any of the final 3 would be worthy winners. I'm pleased that William took the prize (PMA, simple approach to life) but I was so frustrated with his constant (involuntary) donations of food! His underestimation of the ability of animals to get into his food storage left me shaking my head every episode.
Yeah that was hard to watch, the same mistake, what was...atleast 3 probably 4 times in a row? Couldnt really see him winning when doing that, but man, I was wrong, he just tugged along and passed the others. Pretty surprised, but yeah, his simple approach did wonders.
Yes, the final 3 were incredible.
Thanks Alan for the recap.. What an amazing show❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm a 72 year old woman and I have to say this is by far my favorite show!!! I'm pretty sure I can make a shelter now!!! But, if they did a seniors show, I would need my coffee, sugar, milk, maybe some oatmeal and my husband!!! Lol
😁
Thanks Alan. I really enjoyed your recaps, especially from the perspective of someone who had won the previous season. Great job. Some tough competitors this season.
Much appreciated!
Thanks Alan for your great recaps! Can't wait to see you and your wife visit your site!
Also, everyone should check out all 10 of "The Ride Back" videos! History Channel Alone website has them along with 12 Shelter From the Storm videos!
Thanks for that!
Great recaps for the season from one who has been there and won. Thank again.
Glad you like them!
All I can say is that you called it from the first recap sir. Good insight on your part my friend. Appreciate your behind-the-scenes info you shared all season, Thank you for that. (love the mosquito arrow, LOL)
I appreciate all your positive comments!
@@alantenta9825 Look forward to your recaps next season.
Alan I missed the last episode on season 10, so I never got to see your reunion with your wife. I had tears in my eyes when William was so surprised to see her, Omygosh! What an epic ending, Timber was awesome to. I am certainly proud of all the Canadians on the show, but wouldn't have been disappointed if Timber won. Thanks for all the recaps, looked forward to them. Keep them coming next season. 🤓
Wow, thank you!
I really enjoyed your recaps each week, thanks for doing such a great job. I’m glad that William won. I wonder how long he could stay out there because he seemed the most comfortable in that environment.
I’m glad you enjoyed them; thanks for watching!
140 days - easy
Thanks for the recaps. Timber was the best this season to me. Dubs was funny and cool too. I Loved how positive William was. Wish there was a second and third place winner haha.
Glad you enjoyed it
Go Canada.
👍
Damn, it looks like those mosquitoes got a lot of your blood. Did you feel a little dizzy at the end of the video? 😉 I'm guessing that most viewers are American, so I wonder if the producers are getting a little concerned about the Canadian sweep over the last three seasons. It might be tougher for a person from more temperate parts of the United States to cope with harsh winter conditions, putting them at a disadvantage. Your recaps were excellent and I really enjoyed watching them. Looking forward to your upcoming videos. It's great seeing your channel growing steadily!
Thanks for the comment Verndog!
I teared up too. So happy for William. What a great guy. The cold didn't faze him.
Ice in his veins!
Great video
Thanks!
Congrats to all of the contestants .like that nova craft canoe this is tough stuff.
Very durable last 3!
Loved all your videos! Would you do another season of Alone? Loved watching your season as well. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Yes, but I’m not getting any younger!
Dude i can't believe Timber cracked under the pressure and quit. Props to William!
Williams mental fortitude was impressive!
When will alone do a season of just the past winners?
I would love to know…..
I call BS on timbers rationalization: He had frostnip progressing to frostbite on his toes, he damaged his boot in the fire and compromised its ability to keep his foot dry and warm, he was struggling to eat the jerky he had and his tooth problems were progressing, he pulled his fishing lines so he had little hope of fish from that point and even for eating the jerky he was gaunt and losing strength. He knew he couldnt outlast his competition by hunkering down and he bailed. He had lots left to prove besides winning the money bag, like there is only 1 winner and he wanted to prove he could do it when he came out to the game. He seemed like a great guy but that tap out was not genuine, he was beaten mentally and couldnt admit to it, and tried to cast shade on the winner by framing it that he handed it to them. Huge respect to Dub for owning the tap out, honest legend and it was amazing to watch him deal with true emotions.
Thanks for the comment!
I've often thought about the best fire placement inside one's shelter. It seems like Dub had a particularly cold shelter.
Would it be possible to have two small fires inside one's shelter, one at each end?
Otherwise, what is the best way to heat up one's shelter? Using rocks for the fireplace in a certain formation to retain/reflect heat?
Siberian natives build teepees with a metal stove in the middle, which seems to work really well in those extreme temperatures. Would it be too much work to build a stone and clay stove and chimney in the middle of one's shelter on Alone, and would it work as well as I think it would?
Yea, it’s possible, but so much depends on the resources available.
A fire at each end only works if your door is in the middle, you should never have a fire in between your bed and the exit.
What was recovery like when you got back ? And first real meal. Love your videos ! What a season 11 was ! Oh and do you check the box to be notified ?
Recovery was quite smooth; first meal was a pizza and a pint of IPA! If you check the box, you get notified when I post a new video.
@@alantenta9825 sorry I meant when you were on the show did you want to be notified. I suck at typing.
Willy is the man I called him winning from almost day one
Nicely done!
I predicted William would win from the start. The big difference was his mental strength and stick-to-it ness. The ice box was the turning point for me. I knew it was Williams game
Good call!
Is there going to be a reunion for season 11 a congratulation William I'm glad you won
Not sure….
Agreed… Go Canada 🇨🇦 !!!
Well, except for season 9, that shit was cheesey
JP played a smart game….
I like my survival shows when the contestants try to survive.
JP’s strategy doesn’t work in real life only on a game show
Timber was afraid that the money would impact him negatively? I don’t buy it. And there’s no way he could’ve stayed out there 100 days. He was starving. He had frostbite. He couldn’t catch any fish. He had lost so much weight that he probably would’ve been pulled at the next med check if he lasted even that long. The whole time he was out there he was constantly preaching about how this 9:39 is his dream and he’s so comfortable out there in his element and blah blah blah about the land. I really liked him but in the end he got very preachy. And leaving the fish as a sacrifice was just bizarre. He should be honest about why he tapped out instead of acting like he just lost interest and decided to let someone else win. Not cool.
Not preachy. The gospel offends most in the world. I think any Christian given a platform like this is false if they dont use it to SPREAD the gospel..so I feel preachy is a harsh word for what he was doing.
timber gave up he would have won he had probably 100 lbs plus food he could have lasted 100 more days them other 2 would have simply eun out food
A guy from the Arctic wins the arctic survival show? Go figure... Timber should have won.
Religion made him tap. No Religion makes you better!!
Timber gave up.
