getting wet is a bad thing for survival.
it'll deplete your core body temperature and to get it back up, you'll need to eat food and get warmth.
Resource management is key to survival.
As someone who has lived my teens in a mountain village, the internet surprised me how fragile people are, add to that crazy entitlement that they don't even think of.

There are two time of "poor", the ones that just eat junk food and watch TV all day, and the ones that basically build everything we use every day. They chose to bring the first group.

Where I live construction pays reasonably well. I doubt they'd be bellow the average. Certainly not white collar, but not a fast-food salary either. Welders often make more than college graduates, even if their degrees aren't useless.
That's why the brought the first group for more dramatics. And they brought the more narcissistic of the wealthier class.

There's still huge difference in within those societal spheres...someone who started with nothing and built an empire vs someone inheriting a huge business and just knows how to boss people around. And people that are at rock bottom for just unfortunate fate and work hard and climb back up vs poor people that have no desire to advance.
Actually am surprised that not more people try to split away from the big group(s). If you know some survival stuff and are fit and able to work for hours towards a goal, why do all the work for others ? I'd find myself a similar minded guy and go duo mission. Build an actual house, stock up and once you two are both fine and dandy, start dealing with the others. Exchange favors, buy their votes to let them sleep in a fire heated room, safe from the wind and rain. You bet that's worth a lot on that island
Occupying a shelter other people build, claiming strings other people found and refusing to help building a shared camp makes me sympathizing more with the wealthy, even though I’m usually biased the other way around.
Maybe having build a certain degree of wealth or actively maintaining it results in taking also uncomfortable things in the own hands and just getting shit done.
With people like humanity would have just last for 1 generation 😂😂 take some basic human science lesson to understand what made homo sapiens the top Animal on earth: COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION. Stop reading alpha male bs we ain't no wolves
If you know some survival stuff you likely wouldn't be selected for this show being that they apparently all lack survival skills other than a 1 day introduction to basics. Having one or two of these people thinking they can be more successful on their own would be more surprising to me

I'm not sure why, as a non-native speaker, I find the speech of people from wealthier backgrounds is clearer and easier to understand than the other group.

I have a theory. Wealthy people tend to travel more so they have more experience with different dialects, accents, etc. so they have had to make themselves understood. Less affluent people tend to stay in one region so they only have to be understood by their area so the accent tends to be a bit heavier.
There is no way I would have decided to camp together. With two groups it's obviously set up to be a competition.
And it seems Brits are intrinsically independent and snobbish in their own way

There are people who are rich because they work damn hard and seek the knowledge to grow those finances, there are people who are poor that work damn hard to survive and don't know anything other than hard work, there are rich people who are lazy trust fund Mfrs (this one the other three categories hate equally as much) and lastly there are people who are poor due to poor financial planning entitlement and laziness.

Worried about getting wet on an island in the pacific . This is the funniest thing i have watched on this show yet . I cant stop rewinding it and laughing i must watched it 5 times now. Cause i cant actually believe someone xan be that delusional .
yeah it does seem a bit hopeless but staying dry is a priority in any situation. being wet makes your skin blister in your boots, causes hotspots where the pack was on your body, and makes you lose heat more rapidly and thus lose energy trying to get it back. that's probably why pacific islanders usually have less coverings, so they dry quicker.
when bro said ive been taken on leadership roles 14:30 then when bro said "I was head prefect at school" I started to laugh so much no one likes the prefects if I was on that island and he publicly said that in front of everyone I wouldn't take him seriously XD

Because Rich can aford to purchase good healty food ingredients and make their own food. While poor often have to resolve to premade sugary, fat foods instead.
Like where i live veggis are priced absurdly hig at the moment( and have been for a while now). mean while premade fat foods like meatballs are like 5$ a kilo and a box of macrons are 2$ a kilo. Those meatballs and macarons will make you last a week or more. While they'll keep hunger away, they are extremely unhealty in the long run. And if you can't find a decent paying job, then you'll have to go for the unhealthy food.
It's a bit like that thing that went around a few years ago. If a cheesburger at McDonalds is 1$ and a salad is 10$ ofcourse a poor person is gonna go for the 1$ burger. A poor person is gonna have to stretch each dollar they get. While a wealthy person can simply ignore the price because they know they earn enough to no have to worry about money.

Being born in asian country which is Indonesia, i am surprised by what they see as poor people are the same as upper middle class people in here. They got houses, cars, and can still pay themselves to go to the bar and get drinks. To me they are not poor at all

This isn't a full representation of rich Vs poor. There are hardworking poor people and people who are poor because they're lazy. There are people born into wealth who couldn't be lazier and self made businesspeople who have unbelievable work ethics and motivation.
Nevertheless, I do love this show.
Kinda split on Shereen to be honest. Sure, she seem bossy and very authorative, but at the same time you need to get shit done, you dont have the luxury to just sit around.
Yeah but she's got manageritis. Her idea is the best idea, and people who are doing good work need that confirmed by her instruction. I wouldn't want to work for her, because her style is demeaning and belittling rather than encouraging. A good leader isn't bossy, they're inspiring.

Mistake one: They all are going through the f'n jungle. Everyone should have waited in the jungle clearing that was most camp-like the first night and make shelter. One or two scouts go out up creek beds to find the final destination for the whole group. After finding camp and scouting all water sources, then all supplies can be moved into place. Mistake two: Not getting off the forest floor. Mistake 3: not prioritizing water sources.
1 Water, 2 Shelter, 3 Fire, 4 Food.
There was a group that tried splitting up like that and have a scouting group. The scouting group got lost and couldn't find the original group again and it caused a whole bunch of issues
A scout cannot be a dullard. I have never been lost in my entire life, except that time when my parents ditched us at the amusement park while were on a ride. Only people with great sense of direction and a sense of how to not get lost, ever, should be a scout. You make piles of rocks and place fallen foliage in piles too. This is key if you want to have a "Map" of how to bring everyone back to the place you scout out.

Pretty much what you'd expext, - a battle of resourcefulness between two unarmed opponents.At both ends of the socio economic spectrum, you have perfect examples of survival of the least fitest.
Mammals use more of their mental capacity when confronted with complex environments and difficult challenges; this is why the European Raven consistently ranks the highest, having evolved in an ever changing world.Here you have two groups that aren't challenged, avoid challenges,or consistently fail at them.Often generation after generation.
It just show you, the true colour of a higher ups, some of them can be full of themselves, and rare once who are down to earth, IMO.

this whole episode from beginning to end is completely staged and they are terrible actors.
the presence of the producers became more and more visible with each season, but now it has become completely unwatchable for me. such a shame.

I make $30k/month and I do less than I did "working". Money doesn't equate to hard work, just your brilliance of money itself. You can be hardworking, bright, knowledgeable, and live in poverty. I'm first generation to the US and my folks are hunters and gatherers. When my folks came to the US, years later, about 10. They finally rented a house, two bed and one bath. I had 5 siblings so we had 6 twin beds that came from old motels where they were basically trashing it lol. It was lined up 3 long, two columns, in the big bedroom and I'd do front flips across them lol. It's crazy thinking back and I wouldn't have changed it because even though we were poor financially my folks were well respected in the community and rich mentally and ethically. I think I took a lot from that and that's been the burning flame that keeps me going.
What you due now for leaving..? I am in the remodeling business, the most I have in a week is 2k I like to work hard, but I think I got work smart now & not body. I am self employed I work harder & smarter to make the 30k a month
@@nenezaze3252 I run a pump and dump on a few major marketplaces, e-commerce. I used to do engineering crap. Kinda crazy I'd make what I did at that type of level of understanding in 2-3 days and I'd work only 1-1.5 hours a day. If I really condensed it I'd work 15-20 hours a month. But I have to maintain it so it ends up being about an hour a day, total.
I dabbled into the adult business and social media business also. It's kinda hard to create your own traffic, those do about $400/month but it's literally zero maintenance. Basically I own the business and I just make money from people putting content up lol.
Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with some hard work and skill. My biggest income is from my e-commerce. I call it a "pump and dump" because at any moment and time you can be kicked off. But I've found a way behind it. It's working so far so I've been tweaking it.
I wish hard work would equal income, but it really doesn't. Of course you'll have to put hard work in, but it's not linear. That's kinda why I left what I did even though I was so passionate about it. It wasn't just making the income to live a lifestyle worth doing, which is sad (first world country problems lol).
Since you do remodeling, I'm surprised you just don't become the middle men or cater to vendors so they do the labor and you make the cut in-between.

@@ForexRevolution Yeah.. there is technically 1 more series after this called 'treasure island' instead of 'island' where they drop a total of 100k pounds over the Island and people need to look for it while under the same conditions as the current series (1 day fresh water and goodluck)
