  • This video by CAMPT-Certified Physiotherapist Mark Tsai talks about how Sacroiliac joint dysfunction is one of the conditions that is often missed or commonly misdiagnosed as sciatica. The SI joint pain can refer to the lower back, the buttocks, groins and even down the legs, which mimics the sciatic pain. In addition, the muscles in the region can also cause trigger point pain that mimics these patterns. The cause of SI joint dysfunction can be due to a variety of reasons. Once we identify the cause of the SI joint dysfunction, we can provide specific management such as manual therapy, core stabilization exercises and education.
