The Hungarian army was the last army to continue fighting alongside the Germans in Europe until the end
And the Croatian Ustashe in the Bosnian Posavina city of Odžak? They were also the last Axis troops in Europe.
That’s not true because in 1944 Germany started a coup in Hungary, replacing miklos horthy as nothing more then a figurehead. Hungarian army was commanded by the Germans from that point on
Lithuanians and Ukrainians kept resisting until the 1950's although their relations with Germans were complicated.

It was the castle district which held out for the longest. This also meant it took the most demage. Most buildings were demaged, and many of them were deliberately destroyed after the war, or renovated in a simplified, communist way, including the royal castle itself.
A few years ago the 'National Hauszmann Pprogram' was initiated with the goal of rebuilding and restoring these buildings to it's pre ww2 beauty. Some of the projects are alredy finished but it will take at least another decade until all will be completed.
this just shows the intensity of urban warfare
until the very last days of battle casualty ratio was 2.5 soviets/romanians per 1 german/hungarian
axis defenders took the heaviest casualites when they were all squished together in central part making bombing way deadlier

Don't take this fiction seriously. If you are interested in history, then draw knowledge from historical resources.
I've realized that everytime Germans fight the Allies (Including the Soviet Union) The Germans got less casualties than their enemies
There were much fewer of them too.... As % of a given force, numbers are pretty even.
For example: If I have 1200 men and I lose 400, and You only lose 200, it might seem a big difference, but If You only have 400-500 of them, % wise it is a bigger loss for You.
In this context, the Germans+Hungarians lost 100% of their force, which is more than the Soviets.

Fun fact the army headquarters was in the royal palace used by the Habsburgs before and roughly the last free part of Budapest was a bastion that was built in the middle ages. And sieged by Austrians and Turks
